🌟 Bravo, Larry Mayer, director of UNH’s Center for Coastal and Ocean Mapping, on becoming the new chairperson of the U.S. Arctic Research Commission! ❄️ 🛳️ Mayer has led over 100 research expeditions, including 10 missions mapping the Arctic seafloor aboard the U.S. Coast Guard icebreaker Healy. His work helped define the U.S. “extended continental shelf," adding an area about twice the size of California in 2023 to protect U.S. national interests and sovereign rights.
