The Stony Brook Moment is different for everyone. Here's how Aimee Pomeroy found hers. "My name is Aimee Pomeroy. I am a senior and my major is Biology. For this senior year I ran for election and I won, so I've been the Executive Vice President of Student Government. Student Government is pretty much awesome. Every student pays a Student Activity Fee with their tuition, and the Student Government collects that money and we put on incredible events all year long for students to go to. So we do things like concerts, comedy shows, humans vs. zombies, Roth Regatta, Rock Yo Face Case and a bunch of other things. Last week we had the end of the year concert, which was Ludacris, and the opening band was Group Love. And then on Friday of last week we had the Roth Regatta, which is my favorite event all year. So it was a fun packed week! Alterative Spring Break Outreach is a community service group on campus. And we go to different locations every spring break. I've gone on two trips. The first one I went to was in Joplin, Missouri to provide tornado relief, and then this past year I went to Biloxi, Mississippi, and we did environmental projects to help with Gulf coast cleanup after the BP oil spill. My Stony Brook moment was when I came for a campus tour and I remember seeing everyone sitting on the Staller Steps. It was a beautiful day. There was a guy playing his guitar, and a couple of people playing Frisbee. And I just looked around and I knew that this was going to be my home for the next four years."
