With more than 460-registered student organizations on campus as of this filming, undergrads participate in all kinds of social and service-related activities outside the classroom -- and Greek life is certainly one of them. In fact, campus historians trace its presence all the way back to the university's founding in 1873 – and that legacy's impact remains strong.
As of fall 2012, approximately 42-percent of undergrads were involved in 35 Greek chapters from the North-American Interfraternity Conference, National Panhellenic Conference, National Pan-hellenic Council, and the National Association of Latino Fraternal Organizations. These groups donate hundreds of hours of volunteer time and raise hundreds of thousands of dollars for various philanthropic causes each year.
