Places to Worship

One of the most striking buildings on campus, the Basilica was built by more than 40 Benedictine monks, who completed their 13-year endeavor in 1905. As one of only 60 basilicas in the United States, the Saint Vincent Basilica has been given special ceremonial rights by the pope. Visitors can explore the Basilica from top to bottom, from the two 55-foot spires (accessible by spiral stairs) to the crypt beneath the Basilica with altars and works of modern art.
