The lobby of the Native American Cultural Center showcases its open gathering spaces that welcome others to learn about Native American culture. As the only facility of its kind serving all Arizona tribes, the center reflects the NAU's strategic goal to become the nation’s leading university serving Native Americans. The Gathering Room is the central focus of the center and represents the circle of life, with its round shape and earthy colors. Students and faculty use the room for meetings, training, lectures, panel presentations, film series, and music performances. A story room on the second floor provides an intimate setting for individuals to burn cedar, sweetgrass, and sage in keeping with their own spiritual customs.
