サンノゼ州立大学へようこそ。 1857年にミン師範学校としてサンフランシスコに設立され、サンノゼ州立大学がサンノゼに移動したのは、1870年に木造建築の１棟の建物に移りました。師範学校は、２度が学校名を変えました。1度目は1921年にサンノゼ州立教員大学そして、1934年にサンノゼ州立大学となりました。1972年にはカリフォルニア州立大学組織の一部となりました。サンノゼ州立大学は、西海岸では最も古い公立大学です。７学部があり 81の専攻科目により6９分野の学士号を修得する事ができ、29の専攻科目で65分野の修士号を修得する事ができます。その他、認定及び特殊免許などのプログラムもあります。

ドクター・マーティン・ルーサー・キング・ジュニア図書館は、カリフォルニア州立大学とサンノゼ市の共同で2003年に公開されました。図書館には、3,600の座席、400 台の公用パソコンがある上に500以上のノートパソコンの接続が可能です。さらに、SJSU（サンノゼ州立大学）の学生用賃貸ノートパソコン、学習室、マーティン・ルーサー・キング博士の公民権に関するコレクション、ベートーヴェンセンター、ジョン・スタインベックセンター、文化遺産センター、そして、ピアー・コネクッションズ（学生同士のグループ）等があります。8 階に各々の大陸の形をしたテーブルがあり、それらを、押し集めるて一つのテーブルにすると、パンゲア超大陸の形になるちょっと面白いテーブルがあります。

1954 年に開設された、ヒュー・ギリス講堂は、演劇芸術部の学部長であり教師であったヒュー・ギリスにをたたえて、命名されました。ヒュー・ギリス講堂には, に渡って大学ラジオ局の第一位の賞を誇る学生自身が運営するKSJS 90.5 FMラジオ局とがあります。大学の演劇部と演劇を専攻としないSJSU（サンノゼ・州立大学の学生達の公演が年に6～10回ここで催されされます。スパルタン・フイルム・スタジオではでは、サンノぜ州立大学の数ある画期的なプログラムによって、参加する学生に最もユニークな体験を提供します。学生たちに幅広い映画の製作経験を持たせ、数多くの主題の長編や短編映画の作成経験が与えられます。

クラーク館は、以前ロバート・D・クラーク図書館のあった場所にあります。この建物は 18 階建てと計画されていましたが、予算削減のため、建設期間中１年ごとに1階づつ削除されてしまいました。建設過程に13年を費やしてしまい、残ったのが５階建てとなりました。クラークホール内には、海外留学プログラム、軍人と元軍人学生サービス、留学生と専門学者のサービス、ライティング・センター、同輩指導センター、と教育機会プログラムの事務所があります。そのほかに、クラーク・ホールには、教室、コンピューター研究学習室、事務所、グループ学習室、会議室等があります。

1945 年にサンノゼ州立大学は州立大学の中で初めての工学部を設けた大学です。現在は、国内でも名高い学部です。チャールズ・Ｗ・デイビッドソン工学部は大学キャンパス内では最も人気のある学部です。工学部の教師達はシリコンバレーの最先端技術の企業に勤務する人々たちです。工学部の学生たちは、ハイブリッドのＦ１レーシングカー、風力自動車、セメントのカヌー、ＮＡＳＡが宇宙に打ち上げた衛星＜functional finger learning tool>＜実用的な指学習ツール＞などの設計に携わっています。当校の工学部は、公立大学総合機関中で３位、コンピューター工学部は第１位を占めています。

学生会館は、サンノゼ州立大学のキャンパスの中心にあります。いつでも、くつろいだり、教科書や文房具を購入したり、軽食をするために訪れることが出来ます。"ユニオン・スクエア"　は９つのオプションのある、校内最新の食堂で学生の体力を補充する場です。学生会館内には、スパルタン書店、ボーリング・センター、玉突き場、スターバックス、並びにラウンジ設けられています。　学生会館には数多くの学生サービスがあり、学生グループ、シーザー・チャベーズ社会活動センター、MOSAIC: レズビアン、ゲイ、バイセクシュアル、トランスジェンダー・センター、女子学生の相談センター等があります。学生のためのA.S.交通機関ソリューションセンターも学生会館の中にあります。

美術学部館では、学生が印刷術、鋳造、ジュエリー、陶磁器、吹きガラス、そして木工の授業を受けることが出来ます。またアニメーション専攻の学生達が使えるよう、３つのアニメーション研究学習室もあり、アニメを学ぶ学生が利用出来るようになっています。毎年、様々な近代及び歴史的な美術やデザインの論点を探求するために、ナタリー＆ジェームズ・トンプソン・アート・ギャラリーで、専門家の作品や歴史的な芸術品のコレクションが展示され、更にベイエリアにある他の芸術機関との共同プログラムを通しての作品も展示されます。ナタリー＆ジェームズ・トンプソン・アート・ギャラリーの他にに６つの小規模な学生ギャラリーがあり、その内の一つは、特別な設置／演技が出来る場が設けられています。

１９７１年にビジネスタワーと連結して建設された、ボカード・ビジネスセンターにはルーカスカレッジと経営学部の大学院があります。経営学部の学生相談センターは、経営学専攻及び副専攻のすべての学生がカウンセリングを受けたり、相談のために利用できます。　経営学科には４つの専門部門があります。会計＆財政、マネジメント情報組織、マーケティング、効率性と管理、この４部門があり、専攻には、会計、会計情報システム、企業財政、一般企業、人材の管理、国際経営、マネジメント、マネジメント情報管理、マーケティング以上の１１があります。。ボカード・ビジネスセンターの３階にはすべての学生が利用できる無料コンピューター研究学習室があります。

キャンパスには３種類の寮があります。　ザ・ブリックス、ジョー・ウエスト、と　キャンパスビレッジ・スイート　は、一般学生、大学院生、及びに教職員が寄宿できます。各寮の部屋には、家具、電気、水道、電話、インターネット、ケーブルのサービスが含まれています。SJSUから３０マイル（約48キロ）以上離れた市にある高校の卒業生で初入学の１年生は一年間の寮生活を義務付けられます。構内の住居事務所はキャンパスビレッジ本館の 2 階にあり、学生は寮の価格、契約、間取り図などについての詳細を得ることができます。

ワシントンス・クエア館は1980年に改築のために閉鎖される以前はニューサイエンス館と呼ばれていました。1991年再び開館の折にワシントン・スクエア館と改名されました。この建物には人文学科と文学科と社会学科が収容されています。　ワシントンスクエアホール内には環境管理センターとリサイクル開発センターがあります。　ロビン・ウイリアムス主演の映画「フラバー」のはこの建物内の講義室で撮影され、1か月間のロケーション中はその講義室の授業は、他の教室を使用することになりました。

Associated Students （学生自治）は学生の料金、学業、学内のリソース、学生運動、レクリエーションや行政についての学生の声を代表します。年間$ 750万ドル以上の経費を用いて構内の８つの組織を管理しています。幼児発達センター（託児所）、キャンパスレクリエーション、総合サービスセンター、コンピューターサービスセンター、プリントショップ、交通機関ソリューション、シーザー・チャベス・コミュニティアクションセンターと学生自治会の8部門です。そのほかに、春休み中のボランティア活動、コミュニティガーデンの収穫、ベジエリューション＜Veggielution.org＞など多数のボランティアの機会を提供します。学生自治会には、会長、副会長、業務当、多数の学生リーダー、その他ボランティアの役目があります。

２００８年の秋に、ジュディス・F・バッカが設計したシーザー・E.チャベーズ記念碑が公開されました。バッカのアーチは内省と瞑想の場所として、観る人たちに、シーザー・チャベーズの「ここを通過する全ての人々が、希望と創造から、教養、そして最終的には行動と、社会と環境の正当化を経験できることを願う。」と書かれたメッセージを後々の世代の人々に、シーザー・チャベーズの生涯のごとく個人の価値観と信念に基づいて生きることの尊さの重要性を思い起こすことを願って創られた。

学生健康センター内に学生ヘルスセンターがあり、SJSU 在籍学生のための医療を提供しています。急性の病状，怪我、病気の手当てのほかに、ヘルスセンターでは、家族計画も提供しています、構内薬局、理学療法, 政府認定の複雑な検査も可能な試験場、Ｘ線検査室も維持しています。この建築はエネルギー・環境デザインの金賞に匹敵する基準のエネルギーと環境の耐性デザインを原則起用し、省エネルギー性能、水を効率利用した造園や日光の使用を最大利用化しています。ここには70名の従業員と20名の学生アシスタントが勤めています。学生健康センターには、カウンセリングと精神医学のサービスもあります。

音楽館は1951 年に建てられ、36の防音装置を施されたの練習室があります。ピアノ、オルガン、そして打楽器が設置されています。545 人収容可能のコンサートホールでは、音楽専攻学生が無料のコンサートやリサイタルを学期中は毎火曜日と木曜日の午後に催します。音楽館には、音楽・ダンス部、スパルタン・マーチングバンド、コンサート合唱団、交響楽バンド、ジャズオーケストラの部門があります。ＣＳＵ（カリフォルニア州立大学）の中で最初の音楽部として設立され、元来はSJSUの教員養成の学生たちに声楽を教えた時代の歴史から始まっています。

1989 春にオープンした6500席のイベントセンターは、作り付けのライトシステムと高技術なサウンドシステムを装備した多目的ホールです。ここには、ジム、トレーニングルーム、屋内バスケットボールコート、屋内ラケットボールコートと大型テレビを取り付けたラウンジを備えたSJSUスポーツクラブがあります。学期中にはキャンパスレクリエーション部門が学生たちが気軽に楽しめるトレーニング教室を提供します。イベントセンターのチケット売り場では、イベントセンター、スパルタン運動部競技、SJSU演劇、バスのパスその他に、チケットマスターが扱っている催し物の券：過去には、プリンス、ブルース・スプリングスティーン、ドレイク、グリーン・デ、ヒラリー・クリントン、ビル・クリントン、マララ・ユサフザイ、ダライ・ラマ等の券も扱いました。

南キャンパスは本キャンパスの1.6マイル（約2.6㎞）南の10番通り沿いにあります。そこには50エーカー（約20.23　ヘクタール）の敷地に野外競技場、トレ-ニング室、ロッカー室、体育部の事務室、ジェフ・ガルシア・チャンピオン殿堂、そしてスパルタン・スタジアムがあります。学生、教員、従業者用の巡回バスと10エーカー（約4ヘクタール）のバス利用者用駐車場もあります。スパルタン・スタジアムは、1930年に設立され、1980年に現在の3万人を収容出来るスペースに拡張されました。サンホセ州立大学スパルタン・フットボールチーム、男子と女子のサッカーチームのホームゲームはここで競技します。大学の卒業式はこのスタジアムで行われます。

学生サービスセンターには、学部入学手続、大学院入学手続、記録サービス、学生ローン＆奨学金事務所、学生援助とリクルート、学問アドバイスや補修サービス、会計事務所など。学問仲間の紹介などが含まれます。学問アドバイスと補修サービスでは、一般教養科目の選択、学問仲間の紹介、無料の補修サービス、メンターリング、学生の興味に応じて幅広い分野のリソースの照会、学生援助とリクルートでは将来の入学生のサンノゼ州立大学について、質問や入学手続きのお手伝いをします。ウエルカム・センター（歓迎センター）は学生センターのフロントに位置されて、将来の学生や父兄の方々の構内見学の申し込みや質問にお答えします。
