As you rotate around in this photo, you will notice how close you are to Patterson Office Tower and the residence halls in the North Academic Support Zone. Believe it or not, this area used to be where thousands of fans would watch UK Football home games at the old Stoll Field. A historical marker is the only reminder of Stoll Field and McLean Stadium. The marker proclaims the first college football game ever played in the South was held here in 1880. McClean Stadium was later built on the site, which was where the Cats played until Commonwealth Stadium was completed in 1973.
