As one of the fastest growing metros in the country, Sioux Falls offers tremendous opportunities in a wide range of industries. With a population of 265,000, Sioux Falls offers all the amenities of a big city with the atmosphere of a friendly and safe Midwestern town. You’ll enjoy a vibrant city full of recreation, shopping, entertainment, dining and church opportunities. Sioux Falls is an amazingly safe place to live, with an affordable cost of living and plenty to do. McDonald Center

The McDonald Center is home to USF’s Admissions and Financial Aid Offices as well as the campus dining hall. Just a few steps away downstairs is a major hub of student activity in the Salsbury Student Union. The Salbury Dining Hall, or The Caf as it’s called, serves all-you-care-to-eat breakfast, lunch and dinner daily including over 10 different options every day for lunch. It’s also a great place to come and meet with a group for a project or to study between classes.

The Salsbury Student Union is the beating heart of campus activity. It’s home to Student Life, Campus Ministries, all student-led media and Cooper’s Café serving Starbucks coffee. There’s plenty of common space to hang out between classes, study and even play billiards and relax. USF’s campus pastor and Campus Ministries staff and volunteers are based out of the student union. Small groups, bible studies, retreats and mission trips are also organized through this office. Chapel is held Tuesdays at 10 a.m. in Z-Hall. Chapel is not required of any student, but greatly encouraged and well attended! We don’t plan any other classes, activities, or practices at this time, so if students want to attend, they should never have an on campus schedule conflict. It is a relaxed, non-denominational setting led by students and our campus pastor.

Residence Halls

Students experience on-campus living through six residence halls at USF. Burgess Hall, Kroske Hall and Grand Island Hall offer single and double occupancy options, while Sullivan Hall, North Hall and *Collier Baker* Hall provide pod, suite and apartment style layouts. Resident Directors are in charge of each residence hall and the programming that occurs there. All residence halls provide full sized kitchens, laundry facilities, lounge areas and study spaces for students to have everything they need in the convenience of their own hall.

Stewart Center Athletic Facility

USF Athletics compete in the NCAA Division II Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference. The Stewart Center is home to the administrative offices of USF Athletics and where Men’s and Women’s Basketball and Women’s Volleyball compete. USF ID cards grant students free access to a convenient workout facility with treadmills, ellipticals, bikes, and other weight machines. For students majoring in exercise science, a number of classes are held in this building as well.

Most outdoor athletics take place at the USF Sports Complex, where you can find two turf fields—football and soccer. There is also a 10-lane, Olympic-sized track and a football stadium that seats 6,500 people. The USF Sports Complex is located at 69th and Cliff and is a 10-minute drive from campus.

The Vucurevich School of Business brings together professors who have real life knowledge and are eager to help students of all ages through our traditional programs as well as evening programs for working adults completing their degree through our Degree Completion Program or obtaining their Masters in Business Administration or Doctorate in Leadership degree. The Cleveland Center is also home to the Tom & Cindy Lillibridge Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership & Innovation. In addition to full degree programs, USF’s Center for Professional Development has a strong reputation for providing hundreds of high-quality and affordable professional development credits to adult learners and local businesses and organizations each year.

Salsbury Science Center

Science, Math and Nursing majors spend a lot of time in the Salsbury Science Center. This building also holds a science library, nursing, physics, astronomy, chemistry, math, computer science, pre-engineering classes and more. The BRIN research lab offers special summer research opportunities. All USF classes and labs are taught by professors—we don’t have any courses taught by teaching assistants or graduate assistants, so students learn directly instructors who have experience in their field.

Jeschke Fine Arts Center

The Jeschke Fine Arts Center is home to fine art and creative art programs. USF offers numerous instrumental and choral ensembles and provides students and opportunity to explore photography, painting, drawing, printmaking and more. USF’s theatre program also utilizes two theaters, Meredith Auditorium that holds about 700 people and Jones Theater, a Black Box Theater downstairs. Students from every academic major participate in the arts at USF, and performance scholarships are awarded to majors and non-majors alike. Students have the opportunity to serve locally, regionally and globally through Service in the Arts initiatives and travel domestically and internationally. Throughout the building, you will find artwork from both students and faculty displayed.

The Quad

The Quad bustles with activity when classes let out. On any given day you may hear the sounds of the Ukulele Club or see hammocks or tightropes strung up between the trees as people study and hang out on benches and throughout the lawn. USF SculptureWalk contains 8 permanent sculptures as well 12 rotating sculptures owned by local artists and selected for display each year. USF SculptureWalk is an extension of SculptureWalk Sioux Falls found downtown. The Divine Servant statue embodies the traditional “Culture for Service” motto of USF, which is to foster academic excellence and the development of mature Christian persons for service to God and humankind in the world.

Greater Sioux Falls

The University of Sioux Falls campus is nestled in the heart of its namesake city, nearby the many amenities and attractions that give Sioux Falls its high quality of life and affordable cost of living. USF's many connections with organizations in the Greater Sioux Falls area and beyond benefit students in the form of meaningful, experiential learning; internship opportunities; and job opportunities. A recent survey showed an impressive 99% of graduates secure a position in their chosen field or continued on to graduate school within six months of graduation; and of graduates who choose to remain in South Dakota, 90% lived in Sioux Falls or within 30 miles.

Glidden Hall

USF’s well known and highly respected Fredrikson School of Education, providing both graduate-level and undergraduate-level programs, is based out of Glidden Hall, as are Theology and Philosophy programs. Many Glidden classrooms are equipped with smart board technology to ensure future teachers are ready to work with the latest technology. One of campus’s largest computer labs including scanners and a color printer is located in Glidden Hall. All students have access to free printing across campus, free IT support and even free parking with a permit.

Mears Library

With over 85,000 references on hand, Mears Library likes to be seen as a place of learning, comfort and convenience for students. It’s open 7 days a week with extended hours during finals. Food and beverages are allowed and even available in vending machines, and stationary exercise-study bikes are available. Upstairs in the reference room, a rotating art gallery showcases senior art students’ works. Other services offered in Mears Library include: free tutoring in math and writing, checking out laptops, free printing and movie rentals. Campus Safety & Security offices are also based out of the library and offer 24/7/365 services including a campus-ride program though campus is very safe.

Jorden Hall

During their freshman and sophomore years, traditional undergraduate students spend quite a bit of time in Jorden Hall because it is where many of the required liberal arts classes are held. The third floor houses mainly classrooms and the fourth floor is where many Social Science and Humanities professors’ offices are located. These include: English, Social Work, Psychology, Criminal Justice, and Sociology. Administrative offices including the President’s Office, the Business Office, Alumni and Development Office, the Office of the Registrar and IT Services for all of campus are also located in Jorden Hall.
