Olpin Student Union

The Student Union is the central focus for student life on campus. The student involvement wing houses ASUU, which is led and represented by elected students. Student resources like the Feed U Pantry, Veterans Center, TRIO Programs, and International Student & Scholar Services are all found in the Union. The food court and Mountain Dew Zone, right outside the bowling alley, are great places to meet-up and hang with all your friends. The Union houses all the resources a student needs to get involved on campus.

Center for Equity & Student Belonging

The Center for Equity and Student Belonging, or *CESB* creates community and advocates for academic success and belonging for students across intersectional identities and experiences among our African, African American, Black, Native, Indigenous, American Indian, Asian, Asian American, Latinx, Chicanx, Pacific Islander, Multiracial, LGBTQ+, Neurodiverse, and Disabled students of color. The center hosts events open to everyone and offers programs and initatives for leadership and professional development opportunities. Student groups are also found within CESB such as the Black Student Union, Inter-Tribal Student Association, and the Queer & Trans Students of Color.

The Emma Eccles Jones Welcome Center is home to the Office of Admissions and is the start of every campus tour. From applying to getting connected with campus resources, our team is ready to assist through all the steps before you become a student at the U. Another focal point of the Office of Admissions are the Student Ambassadors. These current students are trained to take you around campus and share their student experience. Any time you're on campus, stop by to visit and get your questions answered.

The Block U

Get your cameras ready for the most social media-worthy spot on campus! It's tradition for students to take a picture at the Block U on their first day of classes and then again on the day they graduate. A central point on campus, the Block U provides the perfect backdrop for photos, study groups, picnics, farmers markets, and more. Right next door is the Campus Store where students can get text books, apparel, gifts, and food.

Marriott Library

The *Marriott* library is the main study hub on campus. There are many resources in this space, including our technology commons area (where you can get the *Adobe* cloud downloaded for free), the writing center (which helps students on any written assignment across majors), and study spaces with environments suitable for all studying types. With over 2.5 million books in our system, there are a lot of unique resources to help students excel in the classroom.

Rice-Eccles Stadium

Home to the Mighty Utah Student Section, or *MUSS*, *Rice-Eccles* Stadium is everything you hope for in a stadium experience. To join the MUSS, students only need to pay $50 to get entrance into all home games, a t-shirt and lanyard, and free tailgates sponsored by Red Robin. The tradition of the MUSS is on the visiting team's third down, the section jumps up and down holding a three in the air. The impact of the crowd jumping has actually registered as a small earthquake in the Geology and Geophysics Department.

Eccles Student Life Center

A great space for students to work out and explore the outdoors, the Eccles Student Life Center and all of its amenities are free for students. The student life center is home to Outdoor Adventures which is the largest rental collegiate shop in the nation. It rents to students anything from skis to camping gear to climbing gear, etc. It is also home to a full functioning gym, 4 pools, 2 climbing walls, multiple basketball courts, fitness classes, and a wellness center.

Legacy Bridge

Connecting two main sections of campus is the George S. Eccles Legacy Bridge. Completed in 2001, the pedestrian overpass was built in preparation of the 2002 Winter Olympics, linking the Olympic Village with major sports venues on campus. The bridge is a central feature of campus and includes a glass elevator, custom handrails with integrated lighting, and stays heated to melt snow and provide a safe route for travelers. Used daily by students, staff, and visitors, the bridge is a reminder of our past and passageway to the future.

Lassonde Studios

*Lassonde* is a five-story home for student entrepreneurs, innovators, and creators at the University of Utah. It's the place where students from any major or background can "Live. Create. Launch." Even if you don't live in the residence halls on the upper floors, the first floor hangar is open to everyone. The space is made to connect, test ideas, build prototypes, launch companies, and learn by doing. The Lassonde Entrepreneur Institute is a nationally ranked hub for student entrepreneurship and innovation. All programs are open to students from any academic major or background.

Warnock Engineering Building

The College of Engineering offers many majors, such as Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Chemical Engineering. Departments like that of Civil and Environmental Engineering have been around the U since 1891. Newer programs like Entertainment Arts & Engineering are top-ranked in video game education and research. The college has increased the number of degrees awarded by nearly 196% since 1999. As one of the fastest rising engineering programs in the nation, the College of Engineering looks to the future with a tremendous sense of optimism and anticipation to advance even further.

Sutton Building

The *Frederick Albert Sutton* Building was the first Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, or *LEED*-certified building on lower campus. It redefined the role of a campus building being a dynamic platform for learning. The facility features state-of-the-art classrooms, laboratories, and offices that foster collaboration and innovative research. Housing the College of Mines and Earth Sciences, the architectural design of the building showcases discoveries in the fields of geology and geophysics and highlights the many contributions of University of Utah faculty and alumni to these fields.

Marriott Center for Dance

The Alice Sheets Marriott Center for Dance is a beautiful and outstanding facility built specifically for dance. The School of Dance is home to the disciplines of ballet and modern dance, which each have long traditions of excellence and prominence in the sate and across the world. Each discipline boasts renowned faculty who connect individually with students. The student body is comprised of approximately 200 undergraduates and 25 graduate students. The School of Dance is one of five units in the College of Fine Arts.

The Irish Humanities Building provides space for people to collaborate, conduct research, expand their knowledge, and socialize. The College of Architecture and Planning has three majors: Architecture, Urban and Metropolitan Planning, and Multidisciplinary Design. This college also has the only Dark Skies minor in the United States that studies light pollution. Crocker Science Center

The Gary and Ann Crocker Science Center is the heart of the College of Science, housing research, teaching, and support for the college. Research within the building draws faculty and students from all four departments in the college - Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Physics & Astronomy - to study the basic machinery of living cells. In addition to a fully equipped, world-class biotechnology incubator, the building houses two large lecture halls, teaching laboratories, classrooms, and a host of research programs from the U's College of Science.

Presidents Circle

All of the buildings in this historic part of campus were built when the institution was first founded in 1850. Two prominent buildings in the circle are the Park Building and *Kingsbury* Hall. The Park Building sits front and center facing downtown Salt Lake City and is home to the President's and other administrative offices. If you visit the Park Building, avoid the roped-off university seal which is said to give 4-years of academic bad luck if stepped on. Kingsbury Hall hosts performances and presentations, everything from musicals to the Blue Man Group to the 2020 Presidential Debate.

The University of Utah is nestled between the foothills of the *Wasatch* Mountains and downtown Salt Lake City. Students are able to break from academics and get involved off campus. Jobs, internships, entertainment, sporting events, and more are all minutes away. The U partners with the Utah Transit Authority to provide students free access to the majority of public transit services. City life, mixed with the proximity to many outdoor adventures, provides never-ending opportunities for students at the University of Utah.
