Highlander Union Building and Plaza

Highlander Union Building (better known as The HUB), is where UCR students can connect and kick back outside of class. You can access a wide variety of dining options here and take your pick of where to eat. Highlander Plaza just outside the building provides additional seating and shade. You might also come to The HUB if you're looking to get involved with one of the University's student groups or just to relax, play a game with friends or take advantage of a comfortable seat and free Wi-Fi to study.

Hinderaker Hall Administration

Hinderaker Hall serves as UCR's administrative headquarters. Here you'll find the offices of the University's Chancellors, Provost, and the UCR Foundation among others. The building is named for Ivan Hinderaker who served as UCR's Chancellor from 1964-1979, the longest any chancellor has served in the UC system's history.

Arts

This is the Arts Building, home to UCR's art history, visual arts and performing arts programs. UC Riverside is among the only the universities in the country to offer a PHD in Dance. In addition to studios and classrooms, the Arts Building houses a music library (complete with recording facilities) and several sound-proof practice rooms.

Costo Hall

Located between Student Services and The HUB, Costo Hall is where UCR's diverse student population can connect with several student communities and services. Inside are the LGBT Resource Center, the Women's Resource Center and Student Special Services for veterans and students with disabilities.

Bell Tower

If you need to get to the center of campus, just look for the UCR Bell Tower! Standing at just over 160 feet, the tower has served as a central meeting point for the University since 1966. Its 48-bell carillon can be heard chiming a wide range of songs most Mondays throughout the academic year, select weekends, and on special occasions thanks to UCR's Carillonneur.

Humanities

Facing the Humanities and Social Sciences Building, you can soak in the impressive backdrop of the San Gabriel Mountains. Inside are the departments of English, History, Philosophy, Hispanic Studies, and Comparative Literature and Foreign Languages. In addition to classrooms and faculty offices, the building features large-scale conference facilities and UCR's Language Instruction Lab. The Building is also a short distance from The Barn, where you can catch live comedy, music and small bites.

Sproul Hall

Sproul Hall is where you'll find the Graduate School of Education as well as the departments of Economics and Media Resources. The Hall also houses a computer lab and the Video Production Unit, which features photo, television studio, post-production, and broadcasting facilities.

Pierce Hall

Pierce Hall is where you'll find several academic advising centers including the College of Natural Sciences Undergraduate Academic Advising Center and the Health Professions Advising Center. The building features smart classrooms and faculty offices as well.

Student Services

The Student Services Building is where you can inquire about a live campus tour. Once enrolled, the first-floor "One Stop Shop" is a place where you can conveniently settle payments with UCR and manage records and classes. You can also come to Student Services to talk to someone about your financial aid, or to visit Student Affairs Communications or VCSA Technology Services.
