The Virtual Reality Lab on-campus at Stanbridge University features zSpace technology to help students learn in a whole new way. Human anatomical models jump off the screen and allow students to explore, dissect and experience learning like nothing else before. As a student, you can access thousands of virtual-holographic models and animations of anatomical and biological structures to gain an in-depth understanding of core theoretical concepts needed for patient care. The Virtual Reality Lab is just one of the many opportunities you'll get as a student to learn in an immersive learning environment at Stanbridge University.

Stanbridge University houses a Synthetic Human Cadaver Lab which features full-bodied synthetic cadavers from SynDaver Labs. The lab also houses the innovative Anatomage Table, allowing students to visualize anatomy just as they would on a fresh cadaver. Here, students get another kinesthetic opportunity to learn about human anatomy and core concepts for patient care. As a student, you'll be able to explore the interconnectivity and movement of bones, muscles, blood vessels, veins, and organs for tactile learning.

Lectures come to life in a hands-on environment at the Science Center at Stanbridge University. Students collect samples and grow microbes in temperature-regulated incubators. Students also practice chemistry and participate in instructor-led assignments such as learning about the enzymes found in food and calculating the density of a penny. The open pod floor plans facilitate teamwork and personalized interaction with instructors. At the Science Center, you go beyond textbooks and see science in action.

The Simulation Lab offers hands-on training in a simulated hospital setting. In this lab, students in our nursing and allied health programs learn how to improve critical thinking and gain confidence to care for patients in a fast-paced environment. The Simulation Lab features high-fidelity simulation manikins with pre-programmed patient scenarios including cardiac arrest, stroke, and birth. These breathing, talking, and heart-beating manikins help test your skills and response time to critical care conditions. You'll review your actions and the patient's real-time physiological responses with your instructors via recorded simulations in each lab to help you focus on areas of improvement.

Three spacious Nursing Skills Labs on campus helps simulate a real-world environment where students learn first-hand fundamental patient care. With 20 hospital beds, mobile electronic medical records charting carts, and patient manikins, students in the nursing programs learn patient care procedures while being monitored in a safe environment. Students in the occupational therapy, occupational therapy assistant, and physical therapist assistant programs at Stanbridge University also train in this lab to learn how to treat patients and clients who are hospitalized. Individual hospital beds allow for small groups or one-on-one instruction and makes it easy for students to learn and practice with individualized focus, attention, and support.

The Stanbridge University Los Angeles campus houses three Therapy Skills Labs for hands-on training. In lab 201, students learn, in small groups and one-on-one, how to help people regain mobility, balance, and strength through therapy interventions. Students learn how to provide manual therapy for patients with musculoskeletal pain and disabilities and work one-on-one to understand important aspects of muscle movement, range of motion, and patient care. As a student, you'll learn with a multitude of exercise and adaptive equipment, mobility devices, positioning devices, and physical agent modalities.

In the second Therapy Lab, Occupational Therapy and Occupational Therapy Assistant students learn how to help clients develop, regain, and improve skills for daily living, or occupation. Here, students master adaptation techniques and therapeutic treatments needed to learn how to help people with physical or mental limitations maximize their independence and live full, meaningful lives.

In the third Therapy Lab, Occupational Therapy and Occupational Therapy Assistant students receive hands-on instruction in aiding individuals with physical or mental limitations. Through therapeutic treatments and adaptation techniques, students gain an understanding of how to foster increased independence in these clients by teaching them necessary skills for daily life.
