Saint Joseph’s Chapel

Welcome to Saint Joseph's Chapel. Dedicated in 1910 and boasting a Romanesque architectural style, the Chapel's twin towers reach 130 feet and have become synonymous with the College itself. Mass is held every Sunday at 11 am and 8 pm. Daily Mass is held Monday through Saturday at 11:30 am. Students of all faiths are welcome to attend Mass.

Xavier-McHale Hall

Once used as housing for C.PP.S. seminarians, Xavier-McHale Hall is home to the office of Dr. Robert A. Pastoor, the College's 18th President, the Registrar's Office, where you can make schedule changes or request transcripts, the Admissions Office, and one of three Campus Ministry Offices.

The Evans Arts & Sciences Building houses three floors of classrooms, science and computer labs, biology and chemistry faculty offices, the college Theatre, the Music Department labs, practice rooms, and Choir classroom, the Business Administration Lab, the Education Learning Lab, and the Robinson Memorial Library.

Welcome to the Robinson Library. If you need another location to study for exams or need to borrow a book for your next project, stop by the library. The library houses two floors of reference materials, computer stations to research databases, our TV studio, numerous study areas, two conference rooms, an exclusive quiet study area, and our Student Success Center.

The Student Success Center is a grant-funded resource for our students. If you need assistance with enhancing your study skills, managing your time, overcoming test anxiety, or succeeding in a class, the Student Success Center staff members are available to assist you. The Student Success Center Staff oversee peer tutoring services, available in individual and group settings.

Specifically designed to support the College's Core Curriculum, the building is named after Rev. Charles Banet, C.PP.S. '50, 14th President of Saint Joseph's College and one of the founders of the Core Program. The Core building houses classrooms and two auditoriums on the first floor. Faculty offices are located on the second floor. Inside the main foyer you find our College seal, displaying the three tenets of SJC's education: Religio (Religion), Moralitas (Morality), & Scientia (Knowledge). You also see our brick sculpture, Transformations, which provides a pictorial representation of the Core program at SJC. Various lounge areas are available for you to unwind if you are in between classes, or if you need another location to study.

Seifert Hall

This residence hall is named for the Very Reverend Augustine Seifert, C.PP.S., the first President of SJC, and was erected in 1939. Seifert Hall is 1 of 9 residence halls on campus. Resident Assistants, or RA's, live in each hall and supervise the residents. All residence halls have common lounge areas where residents can study, visit with friends, and attend residence hall meetings. The room you see is the standard living arrangement for Freshman year, double occupancy (or 2 roommates for 1 room). More options are available as you choose housing for your Sophomore year, such as 2 and 3-room suites. Wireless internet access is available in all residence halls, as well as coinless laundry facilities.

Halleck Student Center

The Halleck Student Center is the central hub of activity on campus. Walk upstairs & find more lounge areas for you to have study sessions with friends or host club meetings. Follow SJC's passage in time since its foundation by talking a walk and gazing at the murals displaying integral moments in SJC's history. Visit Student Financial Services if you need to discuss your financial aid package. Student Development, Housing & Residence Life, Career Development, Security & Safety, our second Campus Ministry Office, and the Halleck Ballroom are also located in Halleck Student Center. If you are between classes and in the mood for an iced coffee or lattée, stop by Jazzman's café.

Visit the campus Food Court and enjoy an "all you care to eat meal." Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are served. Use your College ID to pay for your meals. Don't be surprised if you see SJC faculty, staff, priests, and brothers enjoying a meal in the Food Court. With plenty of healthy options available, you will not have to worry about variety. Contact Dining Services staff if you have any dietary needs.

Visit the College Store to start collecting your Puma gear. Whether you're getting ready for the next game or starting your Christmas shopping for Mom and Dad, the College Store has plenty of items from which to choose. Purchase any other supplies you will need for classes. Ask the College Store staff about renting or buying your textbooks. Pick up a snack or something to drink before the next class. Keep your eyes and ears open for their many sales throughout the year.

Enjoy the outdoor intramural sports on the IM Field. Join your friends in a game of flag football, ultimate frisbee, kickball, softball, dodgeball, and many others. Catch sight of the residence halls surrounding the IM Field, which include: Noll Hall, a female residence hall, the Residential Suites for juniors and seniors, Justin Hall, housing both males and females on separate floors, Halas Hall for females, and Gallagher Hall for males. The Pumas are part of the NCAA's highly competitive Division II and are members of the Great Lakes Valley Conference with 18 varsity sports for men and women. Dedicated to the Blessed Virgin Mary's appearance to St. Bernadette in Lourdes, France, this five-acre wooded site was created in 1898. Featuring waterfalls, gardens, benches, and a path displaying the Stations of the Cross, the principal focus of the Grotto is the cave that houses a statue of Jesus praying in Gethsemane.

SJC's first FM radio station hit the airwaves on September 7, 1977. The facility provides sound studios and offices for WPUM staff, whose employees consist of students.

As we make our way to the Admissions Welcome Center, have a look again at Schwietermann Hall. Schwietermann is our quiet, study hall with double-occupancy arrangements for upperclassmen who prefer that kind of environment. Private bathrooms are available in each room. Schwietermann is also home to our C.PP.S. priests & brothers who serve the SJC community. You will also find the Johnson Health & Wellness Center in Schwietermann. In partnership with Jasper County Hospital, health services are provided courtesy of a Licensed Practical Nurse, Counselor, & Family Nurse Practitioner. The Admissions Office offers daily tours from the Welcome Center. Consider scheduling a visit and come to campus. We hope you will come see us soon.
