Creative Writing & Liberal Arts

In our Creative Writing program, you will join a group of writers passionate about storytelling and analyze historical, contemporary, and digital literary forms with a global perspective. Makerspaces

The Makerspace is a collection of cross-disciplinary, educational studios where you can work cooperatively with faculty, staff, and other artists to learn manufacturing processes, realize your projects, and develop responsible working practices. The Makerspace studios provide a safe and friendly learning environment, as well as an opportunity to work with manufacturing equipment and machinery in a variety of fields. These include Ringling's very own Wood Shop, Letterpress & Book Arts Center, Digital Fabrication Studio, and Glass Blowing Studio.

Residence Life

At Ringling, we go beyond the typical college residence halls. Our state-of-the-art housing is designed specifically for creatives, offering plenty of collaboration spaces, large-scale project workrooms, exhibition halls, and access to our unique student resources. That's why more than 70% of students choose to live on campus, because our housing is safe, convenient, and comfortable. First-year students reside in Goldstein and Greensboro Halls, which offer your choice of double rooms, two person suites, and four person suites with private bedrooms. Find yourself and your community by living on a campus filled with creators, storytellers, inventors, and problem solvers.

Dining

Our state-of-the-art dining facility was designed to meet the highest sustainability standards and provide meal options that support all dietary needs. Inside, there are cuisine stations that feature a variety of elevated and delicious menu items. We have a teaching kitchen, called the Food Lab, where we conduct private cooking classes and demonstrations, at no additional cost to the students. We also have The Market, a coffee shop and convenience store that sells grab-and-go sandwiches and salads, snacks, beverages, and household essentials, is located just inside the main entrance. The building also includes a second-floor meeting room, a stage, and a large screen where we host film screenings and events.

Our student body is composed of emerging artists and designers from all around the world, whose interests and talents are as diverse as they are. With all that creative energy, there's always something happening on campus! From events and performances to student groups and exhibitions, we'll help you make the most of your time in college. We have a club for almost everything - whether that is Harry Potter, gardening, knitting, or typography. If you can't find one of your own, it's easy to start one. Who says libraries should be quiet? Our modern Goldstein Library invites you to tackle group projects, spark creative conversation, do research, and ""work out loud."" The furniture is moveable, the workstations adaptable, and the space entirely customizable, making it a true digital destination for students and faculty on campus.

We believe that in today's creative economy, art and technology go hand in hand. That's why First-year students receive a personal notebook computer with access to the full Adobe Creative Cloud suite, and support that lasts through graduation!

In addition, this state-of-the-art building has an extensive collection of over 65,000 books and periodicals and student support to help you succeed.

Health Center

Even the healthiest of us get sick sometimes, so we offer on-campus health services for all students, regardless of your insurance provider. In partnership with Sarasota Memorial Hospital, the college is equipped to diagnose and treat most common illnesses and conditions, such as colds and the flu, and provide other services such as flu shots and lab testing.

We also offer free counseling and mental health services in a confidential and supportive environment. This includes individual and group counseling, educational programming, emergency psychological services, and, for longer-term care, consultations with home and community providers.

No appointment is needed to drop in and see one of our medical professionals for non-emergency support.

Sarasota Art Museum

Sarasota Art Museum is a catalyst for appreciation and understanding of the art of our time. As a platform for education, exposure and experimentation, the Museum inspires new ideas and new ways of being. We achieve this through an endless rotation of transformative, relevant, and pioneering exhibitions designed to elevate and empower all by cultivating discerning visual thinkers and ethical citizens.

We have 15,000 square feet of dedicated gallery space, an auditorium for educational events, performance and film, and a sculpture courtyard, where artists can stage site-specific and site-responsive experiences. It's no wonder the museum has been dubbed a dynamic laboratory for the exploration and advancement of contemporary art.
