Navarro College is a two-year public college with its main campus in Corsicana, and three branches in other Texas towns. Navarro has nearly doubled the size of its campus since it was opened in 1951 and there are now almost 10,000 students in attendance. Because of its connection with Texas A&M-Commerce, students can be taking courses that lead towards a Bachelor's degree. Cook Education Center

Cook Education Center is home to the largest planetarium in all of Texas, with a capacity for over 200 people and weekly astronomy and space science programs. While it is used by students and groups on school field trips, there are also times when the general public can attend programs. Some of these programs have included, "The Cowboy Astronomer," "Galaxies," and "Hubble Vision." The Cook Education Center is also home to the Pearce Museum, which focuses on the Civil War and the American West.

Albritton Academics and Administration Building

Navarro College has had the honor of being named "The Fastest-Growing Public Two-Year College in the Nation," no doubt because of its academic strengths and the professionals it produces. Many of your classes will be taken here in the Albritton Academic and Administration Building. With more than 80 majors, including Business, Chemistry, Math, Nursing, Pre- Med, Psychology, and Spanish, you should be able to find an area of interest. In addition to classrooms, there is also an auditorium inside.

Gooch One Stop Student Center

The Gooch One-Stop Student Center really is just that! Here you will find Academic Advising, Career Counseling, Admission and Enrollment, the Counseling Center, Disability Services, International Student Advising, and Transfer Assistance. You will also find some unique offerings like First Generation Information, Veteran Affairs Services, Tech Prep Advising, and Adult Basic Education.

Dr. Kenneth Walker Dining Hall

A couple times a day you will find yourself in the Dr. Kenneth Walker Dining Hall, which serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner as part of the college meal plan. Students can choose from pizza, chicken fried steak, made-to- order stir fry, and even Belgian waffles. In the same facility is Rick and Rosie's Deli, which in addition to deli sandwiches also offers groceries, toiletries, and medicines.

Barracks Bunch Clock Tower

The Barracks Bunch Clock Tower is named after the "Barracks Bunch," which were the original students of Navarro College back in the 1940's. They attended all of their classes in barracks in what is now the Corsicana Municipal Airport. They reconvene on campus every year for a reunion of sorts, to reminisce about those early days of the college. Because of their dedicated interest in the school, the Clock Tower in the center of campus was dedicated to the Barracks Bunch in 2005.

Dr. Richard Sanchez Library

Navarro College is so committed to encouraging good study habits that it made the Dr. Richard Sanchez Library an official "Quiet Area." Many books required for classes can be found in e-book form through the library's online catalog, and databases like LexisNexis and ProQuest are available for research purposes. To stay on top of current events, the library subscribes to respected newspapers like The New York Times and USA Today. Another perk found here is access to every Shakespeare play in video form!

Louis Gibson Hall

Louis Gibson Hall is where you can find the Fitness Center, a Game Room, and Campus Police. The Fitness Center is open from 7am-10pm on most days, accommodating most course schedules. For those who can't commit to the rigors of a sports team at Navarro, intramural sports provide a fun, no- pressure alternative. Billiards and flag football tournaments are just two examples of intramural activities that could be taking place on any given night.

K. & Ida Wolens Special Events Center

The gymnasium is part of the K. & Ida Wolens Special Events Center, where students come together to engage in a variety of athletics. Navarro College belongs to the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) and recently became the first NJCAA school to win two national championships. Men can join the baseball, basketball, or football team, and women can choose between volleyball, soccer, and softball. Notable Navarro alumni actually include Major League Baseball and National Football League players.

Caston Fine Arts Center

If you choose to pursue an art major at Navarro, you will receive a well- rounded education on- and off-campus. The Caston Fine Arts Center has studio facilities for those taking drawing, design, painting, sculpture, printmaking, ceramics, or photography classes. Courses on how to mount a show and build a portfolio are required for a lot of the above areas of concentration. Making use of the art world beyond the campus, students go on field trips to Dallas-area museums each semester.

Frank Neal Drane Science Building

On the southwest end of the campus near the athletic fields lies the Frank Neal Drane Science Building. If you're interested in following an academic path to a career in the sciences, you can choose from biology, chemistry, physics and veterinary sciences. Most of these programs are for working towards an Associate's degree and many students continue their studies at four-year institutions to become further qualified in cutting-edge science- related fields.
