Science Center (SC)

Do you want to see the stars at night up close? Then visit the Science Center's rooftop observatory to use the high-powered telescope at an astronomy event. During the day, you can check out the garden and the solar panels. These are just a few of the center's sustainable architectural design elements. With labs, an engineering shop, and an outdoor "living laboratory" classroom, the Science Center offers the most up-to-date facilities and instruction for science, technology, engineering, and math courses. The building also features high-efficiency heating and cooling systems and an underground cistern, which collects rain to water plants in the greenhouse.

Science Center West (SW)

Science Center West has state-of-art classrooms and laboratories for math and science. MC students gain hands-on experience using cutting-edge equipment to prepare them for a variety of in-demand jobs. The physics and mathematics departments hold the majority of their classes here. You can pursue an associate's degree in each department, or can take courses to enhance your career. The Judy E. Ackerman STEM Learning Center offers tutoring and other academic support services. Montgomery College offers a wealth of resources to help you succeed as you pursue your STEM education, including scholarships, tutoring, career advising, and internship and research experiences.

Computer Science Building (CS)

If you speak Java, have a video game design idea, or like to debug software, this is place for you. The Computer Science Building is the hub for computer science majors and computer classes. Montgomery College offers degrees and certificates in computer science, networking, gaming, and cybersecurity, preparing students for careers across fields in high-demand. Students have access to multiple computer science competitions, such as the NASA Swarmathon Competition, and other events and lectures. MC alumni are working at the National Institutes of Health, Lockheed Martin, Apple, and Hughes Network Systems.

Gordon and Marilyn Macklin Tower (MT)

The library, located in the Gordon and Marilyn Macklin Tower, has a wealth of books, periodicals, and reference materials, plus numerous computers available to students, and rooms for solo and group study. Macklin Tower houses the Student Support Center, where you can get assistance with writing, reading, and language courses. The Montgomery College Television studio is also in this building. MCTV's award-winning production team creates videos and programs that highlight the best of Montgomery College and provides television coverage of many College events and athletics. You can watch MCTV on cable channels 10, 998, and 1058 in Montgomery County and can live-stream content on the MC website.

Humanities Building (HU)

MC has its own take on the Shark Tank TV show: Raptor Tank. The College's Macklin Business Institute, an honors program located in the Humanities Building, hosts the popular competition. Every year, student entrepreneurs compete to sell their business ideas to a panel of judges for cash prizes. For example, one winner created a peer-to-peer music-streaming app. The Humanities Building is also home to the School of Business, and many psychology, history, and political science classes. You might also come here to visit the Writing, Reading, and Language Center and the Computer Applications and Computer Science Center, for tutoring and other academic help.

Technical Center (TC)

MC's Technical Center is a haven for creative students. You can take classes in digital animation, graphic design, television, radio, photography, interior design, applied geography, and architectural technology. The state-of-the-art facilities include fully equipped design labs with the most current software. The illustration and graphic studio has a 3-D animation lab and the Media Art Gallery hosts exhibitions by students and professional artists. This is also the home of the student eRadio station WMCR. You can listen to top hits as Montgomery College radio students develop their on-air skills.

You can succeed at Montgomery College! At MC, you'll find the tools, support, flexibility, and convenience to help you fulfill your goals. Raptor Central is located in the Long Nguyen and Kimmy Duong Student Services Center. Here, staff can help you apply to MC, register for classes, complete financial aid forms, and more. They are also able to guide you to the Assessment Center and Counseling and Advising departments where staff can help you navigate college and beyond.

Looking for a quiet place to study or relax? The Rockville Campus has a number of good spots. On a nice day, the Amphitheatre is one of the best. This outdoor location is popular with students, and numerous campus activities take place here throughout the year.

Students can't live by books alone. You also have to eat. At the Campus Center, you'll find a cafeteria, food court, student lounge, and student-run coffee shop. The Campus Store is also here, where you can buy or rent textbooks and purchase school supplies and College apparel. Want to start a club? Participate in student government? Cover campus news? Head to the Office of Student Life to get started.

Theatre Arts Building (TA)

Do you love to perform? Do you appreciate watching theatre or listening to music? Then the Theatre Arts Building and its offerings are for you! Theatre Arts houses the theatre and dance programs, as well as speech classes and numerous student events. The programs provide a foundation for those planning to pursue a bachelor's degree, and prepares students for direct entry into the field. Three tracks are offered: dance, theatre performance, and theatre technical. Students perform onstage multiple times during the semester, and the Theatre Arts building hosts two shows each year for Summer Dinner Theater.

Transportation at MC

Free WiFi equipped shuttle buses run between campuses throughout the day. Students can also take the Maryland Ride On buses free of charge by showing their student ID. The closest Metro stop is the Rockville station on the Red Line. The Rockville Campus has three bus stops, five parking lots, and one parking garage that includes charging stations for electric vehicles. An emergency phone system is located throughout the campus, Public Safety officers are on duty 24/7, and a 24-hour security escort service is available upon request.

Paul Peck Art Building

The Paul Peck Art Building is a place to express yourself, whether you're taking a class, visiting an art exhibition, or displaying your artwork in the gallery. The Art Department offers two associate's degrees. You can take courses in drawing, design, painting, sculpture, art history, printmaking, jewelry and metalsmithing, and ceramics. All College faculty members are professional working artists. On the second floor you will find the Sarah Silberman Art Gallery, which hosts multiple art exhibitions every year.

Physical Education Center (PE)

At MC, you can reach your potential both academically and physically. The Health Enhancement, Exercise Science, and Physical Education Department offers a wide range of classes in areas like stress management, healthy living, CPR, swimming, golf, yoga, tennis, and weight training. Students use the gym and athletic facilities, including a track and basketball court, year-round to workout. You can join co-ed recreational sports programs, or cheer on MC's intercollegiate teams, which are part of the National Junior College Athletic Association. The MC Raptors intercollegiate sports teams consistently perform well. MC students are first class scholar athletes and hundreds of MC athletes have received NJCAA All-American honors.

Music Building (MU)

If you have a song in your heart, we have a chorus or orchestra for you. Students and members of the community join a variety of ensembles, such as the Symphony Orchestra, Jazz Ensemble, Wind Ensemble, Chorus, and Chamber Singers, among others. The Music Building has a recital hall, practice rooms, and studios with pianos and other musical instruments available for use. You can take a variety of music courses including American Popular Music, Music Theory, and Jazz Improvisation. You can take these as stand-alone courses, or as part of an associate's degree or certificate in music.

Sometimes learning happens in moments of inspiration. The Parilla Performing Arts Center, named after the college's fifth president, Robert E. Parilla, hosts a series of guest artists, including renowned symphony orchestras, comedians, dance and theatre companies, and musicians. You will also see students show off their talents in plays, dance performances, and music concerts. MC students don't just learn in the classroom; they have time to shine in the spotlight onstage.

Mannakee Building (MK)

The Mannakee Building offers numerous resources. The Counseling and Advising Office assists students with all aspects of academic, transfer, and career planning, and also provides assistance with personal concerns. Disability Support Services empowers students with disabilities to achieve their goals by providing equal access to education and programs offered at Montgomery College. The Center for Training Excellence provides customized training programs for employees of local business, industry, and governmental organizations. Courses may run from a half day, week –long, or semester long. The college provides staff training programs for more than 70 organizations each year through this division of Workforce Development & Continuing Education.

The Montgomery College Digital Fabrication Lab is a new, cutting-edge facility that combines design and production using 3D software, printing, and computer-aided design.
