Welcome to Wilson Hall, our main administrative center, where you will find the offices of Financial Aid, Admission, Registration and Records, and the President's Office. As soon as you enter, you'll notice its unique architectural features and see why it is designated as a national historic landmark. Wilson Hall actually stands in the footprint of an earlier mansion named Shadow Lawn, which was used as the 'summer White House' for President Woodrow Wilson. That house was destroyed by fire in 1927; the current mansion was built in 1929 where it stands today as the centerpiece of Monmouth University. You may even recognize it as Daddy Warbucks' mansion in the iconic 1982 film Annie. Every December, Wilson Hall is transformed into a winter wonderland reminiscent of Harry Potter's Hogwarts for the annual Winter Ball, where students literally dance their way into the holiday season.

The perfect spot to study, relax, and hang out with friends, picturesque Erlanger Gardens is located on the west side of Wilson Hall. Inspired by the Garden of Versailles in France, the garden features fountains that are used for special events on campus, such as commencement and the annual Winter Ball for students. In warmer weather, you may even get to enjoy some outside class time, as professors are known to hold class on the garden steps, creating opportunities to inspire you and your classmates to consider course concepts in a new context.

The Science Building and Howard Hall

Completely remodeled to meet the needs of today's students, the Edison Science Building includes classrooms and laboratories in biology, chemistry, and physics that were created to increase student-faculty collaboration and provide ample opportunities for experiential and interdisciplinary learning. Edison also hosts classrooms and administrative offices of the criminal justice department, as well as the Urban Coast Institute, which facilitates unique and hands-on courses in marine and environmental biology and policy. Edison is connected to Howard Hall, which is home to our 24-hour computer lab, the Department of Computer Science and Software Engineering, and the Mathematics Learning Center. Howard Hall houses the departments of computer science, software engineering, history, anthropology, and mathematics. The Mathematics Learning Center and the Office of Pre-Professional Health Advising also call Howard Hall their home. Adjacent to the classroom and office spaces are the Pollak Theater and gallery, which host artists of both national and international renown, as well as works by artists linked with Monmouth University and the local community.

Bey Hall

Keep your finger on the pulse of the business world in our Financial Markets Lab in Bey Hall, home to the Leon Hess Business School, which The Princeton Review considers to be one of the best business schools in North America. The school offers bachelor's and MBA degrees, with several tracks and concentrations available, including finance and accounting. Students and professionals can also specialize in real estate through the Kislak Real Estate Institute. Classrooms on the second floor of Bey Hall are boardroom-style, giving students a real-world business feel. Bey also features a convenient dining option for students.

Pozycki Hall

Pozycki Hall enhances the offerings of the Leon Hess Business School and provides a designated space for business students to highlight their academic work through poster presentations and open classroom lectures. Featuring a 175-seat lecture hall, this technologically advanced building is connected to Bey Hall on its north side by a pedestrian bridge and includes a natural outdoor courtyard where students can meet for discussion or to study.

Student Center

The Rebecca Stafford Student Center is considered the "living room" of the campus. It has a brand new food court, spacious cafeteria, lounge, and computer lab. It's also home to a number of offices and clubs, like Student Employment and the Student Activities Board. On the lower level is the Center for Student Success, which offers a hub of academic and career counseling services. On the first floor is our Santander Bank branch, available to all students and employees. And on the second floor is Anacon Hall, our large event space. There are also several meeting rooms throughout the building for conferences and workshops.

The OceanFirst Bank Center

Cheer on your fellow Hawks or nationally-known artists at the OceanFirst Bank Center, our 4,100-seat arena that is used for everything from sporting events and graduations, to concerts and conferences. Home to our Division I basketball teams and track and field teams, the OceanFirst Bank Center was built to serve the entire Monmouth community and features a state-of-the-art Fitness Center. Are you an early riser or night owl? The Fitness Center is open from 6 am to 11 pm, so either way you can find time to work out, take a run on our six-lane indoor track, or meet with a personal trainer to discuss a personalized fitness routine. You can also stop by the University Store or visit the Boylan Gym, which has a full basketball court and swimming pool for recreational use.

Kessler Stadium is home to Monmouth University's football, track, and men's and women's lacrosse teams. The facility underwent a massive renovation prior to the start of the 2017 football season that saw its seating capacity expand to more than 4,200 seats. A brand-new brick facade compliments the design of the OceanFirst Bank Center and the seating stretches from end zone to end zone. The renovation also included the installation of a 53-foot by 35-foot LED video board. Additional features of Kessler Stadium include a state-of-the-art press box and multimedia center, as well as the Doherty Family Deck, which hosts Monmouth Athletics Blue-White Club events.

Joan & Robert Rechnitz Hall

Rechnitz Hall, our newest art building, houses our Department of Art and Design. It also features a two-level art gallery showcasing the work of professional artists as well as Monmouth students. At over 20,000 square feet, the building provides students with the necessary space and equipment to produce unique creative projects. Rechnitz features three state-of-the-art Mac labs, an animation and editing studio, classrooms, faculty offices, a reception area, and student lounge. The building was made possible thanks to a generous donation by Joan and Robert Rechnitz, founders of the Two River Theater Company in Red Bank.

Plangere Center

The Plangere Center is home to the Department of Communication and its state-of-the-art studios and editing facilities. Several of our student-run media organizations are housed here, including our television station Hawk TV, our radio station WMCX, our newspaper The Outlook, and our online news portal The Verge. At over 47,000 square feet, Plangere has a number of classrooms, conference rooms, and computer labs, and is home to the Monmouth University Polling Institute, a leading center for public opinion research. Once you see the wall of TVs in the Plangere lobby, you know this is the media and information hub on campus.

McAllan Hall is home to three different schools at Monmouth: the School of Social Work, the School of Education, and the Marjorie K. Unterberg School of Nursing and Health Studies. Our School of Social Work is ranked as one of the top Social Work programs in the country by U.S. News & World Report.

Underpass

Monmouth is one of the safest four-year universities in New Jersey. Our pedestrian underpass connects the residential halls to the academic side of campus. Students can easily get from one side to the other without crossing Cedar Avenue, making it safe for them to walk to and from their rooms. You can see through the underpass at all times during the day, and it is well-lit at night. Monmouth is located in a safe, suburban area, and the whole campus is looked after by the University's police department, which is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Mullaney Hall is one of a number of residence halls on campus. As a traditional corridor-style residence, it allows for about 30 students to live off each hallway and share large communal bathrooms. Other buildings are suite-style, which consist of four bedrooms connected with a common room and bathroom. Our residence halls have amenities to make students' living situations more comfortable; for instance, Mullaney has three study lounges and a fitness space. In total, there are almost 1800 undergraduate and graduate residents on campus, and we guarantee housing to all incoming freshman and sophomore students.

Study and learn in the Guggenheim Memorial Library at Monmouth University, which was once the summer cottage for Murry and Leonie Guggenheim of the famed Guggenheim family. Built in 1905, the mansion displays many charming architectural features. The library has a large collection of books, media, and periodicals, plus a free Interlibrary Loan system that enables students to pick up materials from other colleges. There are also multiple seminar rooms and group-study rooms, and a cafe on the first floor. Students can borrow a laptop while in the library and they can access the library catalog and research databases from any location, on campus or off. The library is also home to the Monmouth University Honors School. Honors students enjoy smaller classes, many with fewer than 10 students, organized into interdisciplinary clusters, dedicated advising and tutoring, deeper dives into subject matters, and special extracurricular activities.

Magill Dining Hall is the primary dining spot for students on campus. With just one swipe of your meal card, you can fill up on multiple courses or get your food to go. Designed as an all-you-can-eat buffet, the facility serves a wide range of cuisines, from soups, salads, and sandwiches to freshly prepared, home style meals, ensuring that everyone can find something they like. Magill is open seven days a week and has a spacious seating area, making it a great place to spend time with friends or just grab a quick bite. There is even a diner option!

The Lauren K. Woods Theatre houses the Department of Music and Theatre Arts and features a variety of concerts, plays, and musicals, showcasing the University's students alongside seasoned performers. Students in this department are well-trained to become accomplished actors, musicians, stage managers, designers, and technicians. And it all happens at this unique and historic theater, which was actually once the old Guggenheim carriage house. Woods Theatre is also home to the Shadow Lawn Stage, an Actors' Equity theater, where theater arts majors work behind the scenes and occasionally onstage during these professional productions.

Opened in 2009, the Multipurpose Activity Center—the MAC—has a 4,100-seat arena utilized for sporting events, graduations, concerts, and conferences. It's home to our Division I basketball teams and track and field teams, and every year, it hosts our January commencement ceremony. The MAC was built to serve the entire Monmouth community. It has a fitness center and six-lane indoor track, both available to MU students, and it houses the University Store and multiple suites and meeting rooms. Connected to the MAC is Boylan Gym, which has a full basketball court and swimming pool for recreational use.

During your time at Monmouth, you may wake up to the sound of ocean waves as a resident of our nearby off-campus housing, which just happens to be located at the beach! Pier Village is a University-sponsored apartment complex right at the ocean in Long Branch. At the Monmouth-owned University Bluffs, also on the boardwalk in Long Branch, students can experience beach living while still enjoying the perks of college life. And those in Pier Village can take advantage of the shops and restaurants right below their apartments on the first-floor level.
