Welcome to Louisiana Tech University. Louisiana Tech University is located in Ruston, Louisiana and has over 11000 students in both graduate and undergraduate degree programs. The city of Ruston which is located in North Louisiana, is heavily tied to the college population and has all the amenities of big city, yet, the size and appeal of a genuine, caring community. Our hope is that at the end of this Virtual Tour, you will plan a personalized campus visit. We are currently standing in the heart of campus, our Quad. Before us is our Lady of the Mist fountain. The fountain faces the original entrance to the campus and, with open arms, she welcomes each new and returning student to the University. Students taking part in our annual Freshmen convocation cast the Tenet medallion into the fountain which is inscribed with the 12 Tenets of Tech – guiding principles that make Louisiana Tech students special.

Louisiana Tech's Student Center serves as a gathering place for all students. Whether grabbing a snack between classes, studying before a final, grabbing LA Tech gear at Barnes&Noble@LouisianaTech, or eating dinner, there is always activity occurring within the student center. This facility also houses our ELS Language Center and several of our on-campus dinning locations. From Chick Fil-A, to the Café, to the AFC Sushi, students frequent this facility to enjoy a home-cooked meal, fast food, or fine dining.

In 2003, Tolliver Hall was renovated to include additional dinning locations for students to frequent. Java City, Bene' Pizzeria, and Bytes, the on-campus general store, are all open for business for college students whether they need an early morning pick me-up or a late-night study snack. Students use the space for organizational meetings or study groups utilizing the wifi services provided free to all Louisiana Tech students. International Student Office, Multicultural Affairs, Student Activities, and Student Government Association are all housed in Tolliver Hall.

Tech Seal

Centennial Plaza was constructed in 1995 as a celebration of Tech's 100 years of institutional achievement and success. Nearly 90,000 bricks inscribed with the names of Tech graduates adorn the walkway through Centennial Plaza, leading to the Marbury Alumni Center. The main focal point of the plaza are the Clock Tower and the Louisiana Tech Seal. Many gatherings from Christmas in the Plaza, to Greek Week, to Spring Fling take place each year.

Howard Performing Arts Center

Constructed in 1940 and renovated in 1983, the Howard Center for the Performing Arts, which is named for Louisiana Tech's first graduate, Harry Howard, is home to the School of the Performing Arts and the Louisiana Tech Concert Association. Many students take part in musical ensembles and theatrical productions that take place after class and generate excitement all over campus.

Keeny Hall

Constructed in 1936, Keeny Hall, named for tech president J.E. Keeny, is home to several campus and student services which include: the Comptroller's Office, Counseling & Career Services, Financial Aid, Registrar's Office, and the Offices for the Division of Student Affairs. Each office works together to create a one-stop shop for student success.

Wyly Tower

Wyly Tower is the tallest building on campus, and in fact, is also Ruston's tallest building. Constructed in 1973, the building is named in honor of Charles Wyly, Sr. Wyly Tower is divided into two sections with different access points. The West Access allows students to enter the Prescott Memorial Library and our Deans office for the College of Applied and Natural Sciences. The East Access allows students to enter the Bulldog Achievement Resource Center which is a student resource for tutoring and residential life. 24 hour computer labs are also available on this side of Wyly Tower, but most importantly, the President's Office is on the 16th Floor.

George T. Madison

George T. Madison Hall is home to the Dean's Office of the College of Liberal Arts and Honors College, as well as the English, Mathematics, Nursing, and Social Sciences Departments. George T. Madison possesses only one large auditorium. As a result, classes are personal and provide strong teacher-student interactions. The Honors Classroom is limited to 18 students to allow for even more personalized educational opportunities.

Woodard Hall is home to our College of Education which encompasses Education, Kinesiology, and Psychology degree programs. Students utilize on-campus resources to help further their educational pursuits. Some of these resources include A.E. Phillips Laboratory School, which ranks among the top elementary schools in the state. Another resources is the NASA funded Idea Center. Young students from all over come to the Idea Center to broaden their horizons and explore new possibilities in the world of science.

Hale Hall

Originally built in 1898 and reconstructed in 2004, Hale Hall now serves as home to the Office of Admissions. Thousands of visitors enter this building each year to meet one-on-one with our admissions counselor, student tour guide, and visit with representatives from majors you might be interested in.

University Park is one of 3 phases of our apartment-style residential life complexes. University Park consists of 5 commons which include Caruthers, Thatcher, Kidd, Sutton, and Neilson. The complex features fully furnished two and four bedroom designs. Each apartment is equipped with a range and refrigerator with some units including a washer/dryer. Rent, utilities, internet, and cable are included in all leases. The best part…you might even be able to catch a live baseball game or two at J.C. Love Field right from your bedroom window.

From Louisiana Tech's very own Golf Courses, to Hide-a-Way Park which features Frisbee Golf, Boating, and relaxing activities, to the Lambright Sports & Wellness Center it is not hard for Tech students to experience fun and excitement while living on campus. The newly renovated Lambright Sports & Wellness Center features an indoor competition pool with video board, an outdoor Olympic-sized layout pool, rock climbing wall, bowling alley, ping pong tables, pool tables, 2 full sized gyms, aerobic and spin class rooms, and workout facility, all allow students to stay active during slow times when not studying.

Marbury Alumni Center trail

The Alumni Center is the front door of the University; it's the welcoming structure you first see when entering the University on Tech Drive. The Marbury Center was named in honor of the significant contributions to the University by William and Virginia Marbury. Its lobby and main reception area were recently updated, and the building hosts countless events and meetings each year. Housed in the Marbury Alumni Center are the offices of the Louisiana Tech Alumni Association, the Louisiana Tech University Foundation, and the Louisiana Tech Athletic Club. Tech's Hall of Distinguished Alumni Display is in the Center. It's a popular stop for alumni, students, and campus visitors.

South Campus, also called Tech Farm, is host to both the Department of Agriculture Sciences and the School of Forestry. South Campus consists of two main buildings, Reese Hall and Lomax Hall. These buildings feature state-of-art spatial analysis labs and greenhouses. Tech Farm also consists of an 850 acre farm that features live-stock production, equestrian facilities, meats laboratories, and forestry research projects.

The Institute for Micro-manufacturing was established in 1991 to meet the research and development needs of industry in the area of miniaturization technologies. The Institute for Micro-manufacturing strives to provide valuable products to industry, as well as provide research and development to allow for these products to be continually refined and improved so that they remain at the top of their respective markets. The 52,000 square foot Biomedical Engineering Center was dedicated in May of 2007, and contains the Center for Biomedical Engineering and Rehabilitation Science (CBERS).

Adams, Aswell, and Dudley are a trio of residential halls with identical floor plans. All share community bathrooms. The only difference of the three residence halls is that Adams and Aswell are female residence halls and Dudley is a male residence hall.

The School of Biological Sciences, Human Ecology, and the Chemistry department all call Carson-Taylor Hall home. Many students take part in research projects under the supervision of faculty members while using the various laboratories located in the building. Also, state of the art design labs help students in Fashion Merchandising and Retail Studies gain an edge against other competitors in the retail industry.

Bogard Hall

Bogard Hall was constructed to meet the needs of the rapidly growing Engineering Program at Louisiana Tech.It became a milestone project in the development and progression of the Engineering Program at Louisiana Tech and provided an opportunity for expansion as well as the ability to house improved engineering equipment and technology. This "home away from home" for many engineering students has strengthened the bonds between classmates as they compete in national competitions such as the EcoCar Challenge, sponsored by Shell Oil, or the Concrete Canoe competition.

Tech Pointe has been designed to support high-tech companies needing access to information technology support such as fiber and Internet networks, auxiliary power, specialized heating and cooling systems, access control, and advanced computing capabilities. Tech Pointe can also serve the needs of start-up technology companies, both currently residing in Tech's business incubators and those looking to locate their operations at Enterprise Campus. All while relying heavily on student interns from Louisiana Tech.

College of Business Building

The College of Business is 42,000 square feet of bells and whistles. With 8 smart classrooms, the College of Business students are exposed to the technology and software that they need for the world of work. There are three computers lab housed in the building as well….one for general student use, one is a teaching lab, and the last is a digital forensics lab for the information assurance students. The College of Business will break ground on an approximate 20,000 square foot addition during the 2014-2015 academic year.
