Our tour starts here, at Martinetti Hall, outside the Admissions Office. Our friendly staff is here to support you through every step of the application process, from applying to making the transition to being a JSC student. Martinetti is also home to many college offices and services, including, Financial Aid The Business Office And the Registrar's Office The offices of the president, academic dean and administrative dean are also in this building. Upstairs in Martinetti, you'll find the Business and Economics Department, home to our hospitality and tourism, business management, and nonprofit management certificate programs. And the third floor is dedicated to upper- level student housing.

Dewey Hall

Our next stop is Dewey Hall. Dewey houses a number of classrooms and meeting spaces, the campus Women's Center, the bookstore, the convenience store, and "The Commons," an open, light-filled area with a stunning view, where students can gather to study and hang out.

Dewey is also home to a number of important student services offices, including:

The Advising and Career Center, where you can get help with choosing a major, searching for a job, and finding a study abroad or National Student Exchange program that suits your interests.
Academic Support Services, which offers tutoring, disability services, and is home to the Trio program
The Residence Life Office, which oversees all aspects of campus housing, including housing and roommate assignments
The First-Year Experience Office, which is here to help new students adjust to life at JSC, and oversees summer, fall and spring orientations, the first-year seminars, the Common Reading Initiative, and the Creative Audience class.
And Public Safety, where students can get IDs, keys, and parking permits here, as well as assistance with safety concerns, escorts to and from cars, classes, and dorms.

Next is Dibden Center for the Arts. Dibden Center for the Arts is the cultural heart of the JSC campus. Dibden also serves as a real-world classroom for students in our technical theater program, providing them with a hands-on opportunity to learn lighting, sound, costuming, set-building, and other "behind-the-scenes' aspects of theater. Dibden has a MIDI lab, recording studios and a drum studio, too. The 500-seat theater hosts an eclectic array of programming each semester, from nationally known musical acts, to college and regional theater productions, to student performances and recitals, as well as lectures.

Performing Arts students can take advantage of the five practice rooms throughout the building, and BFA and MFA visual arts students, as well as regional, national, and international artists, regularly exhibit their work at the Julian Scott Memorial Gallery.

There are a number of other galleries on campus, including ones in Martinetti, in the LLC, and in the hall outside of the Dibden Theater. Additionally, there are numerous outdoor sculptures as well as a sculpture garden which will continue to grow.

This is Bentley Hall Bentley Hall houses the departments of mathematics and environmental and health sciences. In addition to recently renovated molecular and geology labs, Bentley Hall also contains the second-largest auditorium on campus, and is often the site of large, public lectures and other events.

The building underwent an extensive renovation that was completed in 2012 which saw the upgrade of the geology and chemistry labs, the addition of common areas and meeting rooms and the removal of a massive central stairway.

Science class doesn't just take place in the labs and classrooms in Bentley, however - faculty ensure that JSC students take full advantage of JSC's natural resources, conducting research and learning from the Lower Pond on campus, at the college-owned Babcock Nature Preserve in nearby Eden, VT, and in and around the Lamoille River Valley.

The Willey Library and Learning Center, or LLC, was completed in 1996, and rededicated in 2011 in honor of a gift from alumnus Richard Willey, '71, and his wife Rosalind Weiss.Willey Library and Learning Center The library is open seven days a week during the academic year and has an ever-growing collection of both print and electronic resources, high-speed internet access and a newly renovated 24-Hour Study Room, featuring 16 PC stations. On the ground floor, off of the foyer of the LLC, the new Media Arts Research Studio, or MARS Lab, is a 25-station Mac serves not only our digital arts program students, but all college community members. The third floor of the LLC houses offices for professors in Humanities and Wrting and Literature, as well as the offices of our three campus publications: The Gihon River Review, The Green Mountains Review (both literary journals), and Basement Medicine, our student-run newspaper.

Welcome to the SHAPE Center, the home of our college varsity and intramural athletics and recreation programs and home to our Human Performance Exercise Physiology Lab where students and faculty conduct health sciences research. In this recently renovated facility, you'll find a weight room, two gymnasiums, a climbing wall, a cardio room, an Olympic-sized swimming pool, and a dedicated spinning studio. This is the Visual Arts Center, also known as the VAC. The VAC is home to the college's fine arts department, and features five art studios: drawing and painting, sculpture, print, ceramics, and a black and white photo lab. Additionally, student work is usually on display in the VAC gallery. A complete renovation and expansion of the building was completed in 2012, which created a common area for students, BFA studios, upgraded the existing labs and offices, and created a gorgeous space in which to learn about and create art. Governors and Senators are the college's biggest residence halls, and feature single, double, and triple rooms. Stearns Student Center underwent an extensive renovation during 2008-2009, reopening in fall 2009 to become the heart of student and community life at JSC. The upper level features a cozy fireplace lounge, a coffee shop, a TV lounge, the college radio station (WJSC), the SERVE Office, which is the center of service learning at JSC, and the Student Government Association Office. The dining hall offers two private dining areas for meetings and receptions, in addition to the large, open main dining area. Every meal includes a number of vegetarian options, and pizza from our wood-fired oven is a popular choice. The Performance Space on the second floor of Stearns provides an acoustically engineered, intimate environment for coffee houses and other student and community events and performances, as well as a place to grab some food after the dining hall closes for the day. The lower level of Stearns is home to the mail room, cinema (where recent movies are screened twice a week), and game room, where students can relax and indulge in a game of pool, ping-pong, or foosball or even play arcade games.

Located just down College Hill from Martinetti, McClelland Hall is the hub of academic life for education and behavioral-science students. In addition to classrooms and faculty offices for the Education and Behavioral Science departments (including psychology, sociology, and wellness and alternative medicine), it houses the Dance Studio, the student Wellness Lounge and a computer lab.
