Our Namesake Alexander Hamilton

Welcome to Hamilton College, which was founded in 1793 with the support of George Washington and Alexander Hamilton, who served as our first trustee and lent his name. That's him on the pedestal … and on the $10 bill in your pocket. He represents many of the same things we value as a college: He was an independent thinker, a persuasive writer, and a powerful speaker whose effect on the new republic was lasting and profound. These days, he's still being appreciated as the subject of the wildly popular Broadway musical. Like our namesake, Hamilton College is pretty popular, too. As you explore this tour, you'll learn why that's true. Before we get started, let me explain the many ways in which you can explore our beautiful campus: - You can click on the front facing arrow to start walking around our campus - You can jump to the next stop by clicking on the "Next" button - If you already know where you want to go, you can select any location by using the list or by clicking directly on the map - Lastly, remember that you can explore any location in more detail by clicking on the 360, photos, or video icons.
