Center for Visual and Performing Arts

In the Center for Visual and Performing Arts, you can shape metal or clay, capture images through paint or a camera lens, dye fibers, or perform in our recital hall or black box theatre. Musical groups, including Hand Drum ensemble, Gospel Revelations, Jazz ensemble, and more, practice and perform in CVPA-- you can often hear their rehearsals drifting through the hallways. Part of our general education requirements include 6 credits in the division of the visual and performing arts. Once enrolled in a studio art class or musical ensemble, students are granted access to the facilities 24/7.

In the Center for Science and Technology, you'll experiment and discover in our state-of-the-art science labs, or find the perfect spot to collaborate with classmates. Throughout CST there are spaces for student use--whether you're looking for a quiet study spot or a place to collaborate with others. Classrooms are open as study rooms after hours, and the tables in CST double as dry erase surfaces to help bring learning to life.

Miller Farm

The Joseph Moore Museum

Welcome to Joseph Moore Museum, the free natural history museum on campus! Here you can find the world's most complete Giant Beaver skeleton, an ancient Egyptian mummy, and great resources to get hands-on experience. The museum employs about 40 students per semester to offer tours, design and build exhibits and curate collections.

Friendship Houses

Theme houses offer the chance to live in a close-knit group of peers who have shared community and educational goals for the academic year. Each college house holds between five and twelve students at a time, allowing a close and independent community to live together throughout the year. This is Music House which hosts an open mic night twice a month. Other houses include LGBTQ+ House, Outdoor Education House, Art House, and many more.

Olvey and Andis Residence Hall

Welcome to Olvey-Andis Dorm, one of residence halls on campus. As a first year, you'll likely live in either Barrett or Bundy Hall. There are 1-2 RAs per floor who help organize programs for first years that help you get to know other students and the resources available on campus. Almost all of our residences halls are co-ed. Each dorm has four bathrooms per floor, Peer Mentors, free laundry, and kitchens. Everything you need for your home-away-from-home!

Dining Hall

Our dining hall is known by students as SAGA and includes a variety of food options, including vegan and halal. If you miss a meal in SAGA, you can also grab foot from Café 1847. We also have a coffee kiosk with Starbucks coffee in the student commons.

Runyan Student Center

Runyan is the main student center on campus. It includes common spaces for students to study and hang out, as well as services like the mail room, campus store, and Multicultural Resource Center. Downstairs, you'll find spaces for student clubs and organizations like WECI (a public radio Radio Station that broadcast from our campus and the E-sports room (which has become the largest student club at Earlham). Down the hall is Leeds Gallery which rotates a display of student artwork and guest artists.

The first floor is set for group study and collaborative projects, while the upstairs is meant for silent reading and study. Earlham Hall

Earlham Hall is the oldest building on campus, built in 1855. The top three floors are student housing. On the first floor you can find The office of Student Life, including Residence Life, Student Activities, and the Dean of Students. Earlham Hall is also the home to Health Services and Counseling Services.

Stout Meetinghouse

Earlham was founded by Quakers in 1847. Today only about 10% of our student body and faculty are Quaker, and we welcome and embrace people of all (and no) faiths. Here in Stout Meetinghouse, there are two Quaker meetings each week, both on Sundays. Students are not required to participate in any religious activities. However, many clubs, organizations, and worship opportunities are available for students of a variety of faiths.
