Hello and welcome to Dillard University, home of the Bleu Devils. Established in 1869, Dillard University is a four year liberal arts historically black college/university located in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Rosenwald Hall

Rosenwald hall is the main administration building that houses the offices of Academic Affairs; Recruitment, Admissions and Programming; Business and Finance; Financial Aid and Scholarships; Registrar's Office, Marketing and Communications, and the Office of the President. Rosenwald Hall honors Julius Rosenwald, a great philanthropist who was especially committed to the cause of education of Blacks in the South.
Lawless Assembly Hall

Lawless Memorial Chapel and Assembly Hall is Dillard's house of worship. Worship services are conducted by the university chaplain who is available for spiritual counseling. The chapel's L-shaped design is set around one of the most beautiful live oak trees in New Orleans. The chapel was named in honor of its benefactor, Alfred Lawless Jr., and his father, Theodore Lawless. Dillard University's religious affiliation is United Methodist and United Church of Christ.

Townhouse styled, these fully furnished apartments are reserved for upperclassmen, both male and female students. Features include hardwood floors, living room, full kitchen, bathroom and two or three bedrooms, cable and high speed internet access.
Will W. Alexander Library

This facility houses approximately 135,000 volumes. The library features a Learning commons center, a technology and research classroom, and several individual study rooms throughout. With new interior renovations, the library now has a more functional learning and research center for the campus community.
Hartzell Hall

Built in 1934, Hartzell Hall is one of three residential facilities listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It is named in honor of Joseph C. Hartzell, missionary bishop in the Methodist Church of Africa. The 28,243 square foot building underwent extensive rebuilding after Hurricane Katrina and has been updated with modern amenities such as Wi-Fi, motion-sensored lighting, security cameras, and elevators. Hartzell Hall serves as a residence hall for second-year female students.
Camphor Hall

Camphor Hall was built in 1947 and is named in honor of Alexander Camphor, college president and missionary. Also listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the 43,424 square foot building also underwent extensive renovation and updating following the devastation of Hurricane Katrina. It reopened, along with Hartzell and Straight Halls in the Fall of 2014. It serves as a residence hall for first-year female students.
Kearny Hall

Kearny Hall houses the university dining hall (managed by Sodexo, Inc.) on its second floor. Kearny's first floor features a post office, a convenience store, a short order restaurant-Grill 155, and a student lounge.

The Dillard University International Center for Economic Freedom houses the Office of International Studies, the International Melton Foundation program and the School of Social Sciences. It also includes classrooms and a lecture hall, observational classrooms for research, a curriculum lab, the foreign language labs and computer labs.
Albert W. Dent

Dent Hall houses the university's athletics department, including the Dent Hall Gymnasium ("The Battlefield"), an Olympic-size swimming pool, a dance studio, locker rooms, and weight and training rooms. The building also houses classrooms and laboratories for student support services.
Henson Hall

Henson Hall houses the university bookstore and provides a convenient location for students to access course materials. It also houses our second gymnasium, which is used for intramural sports and other student activities.
Williams Hall

Williams Hall provides 225 beds for female and male residents with a "home-away-from-home environment." The rooms are in a suite style arrangement, where four students in two rooms share a shower, restroom and entryway. There is also a lounge, kitchen and laundry facility on every floor of this three story building.
Straight Hall

Straight Hall was built in 1935 and named after Seymour Straight, The 21,903 square foot newly renovated hall features many conveniences of home including comfortable lounge areas, study areas and laundry facilities for first- and second-year male students. Straight Hall is also on the National Register of Historic Places.
Alumni House

The Alumni House (formerly the President's House): The Alumni House/Welcome Center is a place where Dillard graduates come to stay connected with the university. It also serves as meeting space for various events on campus.
Professional Schools and Sciences Building

This 127,000 square-foot building opened in 2010 and houses many of our academic areas, such as the College of Business, Physics, School of Nursing and Public Health. In addition to our Academic Center for Excellence (ACE) which also coordinates the Center for First Year Experience program. Highlights include four 70-seat lecture halls, the 420-seat Georges Auditorium and the Justice Revius O. Ortique Jr. Mock Trial Center. It was built to LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) gold-certified standards. A garden balcony on the third story expresses the building's sustainable design.
Student Union

The Student Union and Health and Wellness Center opened in 2010 and serves as the first student union in Dillard's rich history. This 55,000 square-foot building houses a movie theater, bowling alley, ballroom, indoor running track and fitness center, in addition to student offices and a conference center. An environmentally friendly facility, it was built to LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) gold-certified standards.
Samuel DuBois Cook Fine Arts and Communications Center

Samuel DuBois Cook Fine Arts and Communications Center houses the School of Humanities. The 50,000-square foot complex contains facilities for the academic programs of art, music, drama, and communications. It also includes the Cook Theater, the campus's premiere performing arts space, which features 250 seats, a fly loft, and an orchestra pit. The Cook Center also houses art studios and galleries, a TV studio, a radio station, classrooms, seminar rooms, and faculty offices.
Stern Hall

Stern Hall houses classrooms used by the School of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM). This three-story structure features a state-of-the-art lecture hall and several laboratories.
