Home to the College of Business Administration, Grawn Hall is a hub of activity that extends far beyond the classroom. Business students are provided with many opportunities to participate in transformational learning experiences to help them develop as leaders, grow their passion, and bring their career dreams to life. Our students regularly engage with business leaders, professors, future employers, and alumni not only in their classes but also through business consulting projects and participation in competitions on-campus and nationwide. Students also engage in research, speaker events, volunteer opportunities, and study abroad. All of these experiences provide a fun and meaningful pathway to successful internship placement and exciting full-time career opportunities.
The Bovee University Center

The Bovee University Center is the central hub of the University. The newly renovated Central Eats Food Court, Shake Smart and Market and Starbucks offer a variety of meal and snack options. Students can engage with the many support services and resources from the office of Student Activities and Involvement, Veterans Resources, Native American Programs, LGBTQ+ Services, Multicultural Academic Student Services, The Mary Ellen Brandell Volunteer Center and the OneCentral office. And don't forget to stop by the CMU Bookstore to grab some maroon and gold merch!

The CMU College of Medicine is the newest addition to the university's academic community. Created to address a growing shortage of physicians in Michigan, the College of Medicine's first class graduated in 2017. The College of Medicine educates diverse students and trains culturally competent physicians to provide comprehensive health care to underserved communities. Traditional coursework is enriched by hands-on training through simulation labs, clinical rotations and community-based assignments. The Charles V. Park Library

The Charles V. Park Library features a variety of study spaces, including the 1 North study room, which is open 24/7. The library has 300 public computer workstations with course-based software, Wi-Fi, and printing capability. There are 1.8 million print and electronic books, 125,000 journals, and more than 100,000 streaming videos in the library's collection. You can "Ask a Librarian," get materials from other libraries, and leverage other library services that help in the completion of assignments and research. Additional academic support offices located in Park Library include the Student Disability Services Office, the IT Help Desk, the Mathematics Assistance Center, the Writing Center, and the Certified Testing Center.

The School of Music provides offerings in four basic areas: curricular programs for students who aspire to careers in music; activities for all students who have an interest in music (most of the musical organizations in the School of Music are open to all students on campus, whether music majors or not); courses for students with a general interest in music; and cultural offerings in the form of recitals, concerts, and lectures, most of which are free of charge.

Biosciences Building

This state-of-the-art, four-level, LEED Silver certified research building was constructed to meet the fast-growing demands of students involved in the biosciences field. The building houses a 220-seat multi-purpose auditorium, an "active learning" classroom, six 24-seat teaching laboratories and several informal collaboration spaces. It also boasts an isotope laboratory, a vivarium for aquatic life, an herbarium, and an Imaging Center for Scanning and Transmission electron microscopes. The design of the building balances the energy-intensive needs of a science facility with growing efforts towards energy efficiency, using advanced systems like rainwater capture, solar panels, and the use of local and renewable resources.

East Campus Residential Community

CMU has 21 residence halls in four residential communities and three distinct apartment communities. Each residential community has a feel all its own.
The East Community is made up of six residence halls. Students live in suite-style rooms with private bathrooms. These residence halls remain open during Thanksgiving, winter, and spring break periods.
John G. Kulhavi Events Center

Located within the John G. Kulhavi Events Center, McGuirk Arena is home to our Men's and Women Basketball, Wrestling, Volleyball, Gymnastics teams. It is also home to our Ticket Central Office where students, staff, faculty and the community can purchase tickets for upcoming CMU events. The Kulhavi Center also hosts many events on campus including concerts, speakers, trade shows, the Michigan Special Olympics and our favorite, CMU Commencement.

The Student Activity Center, or SAC, is the place to get active and get involved. Whether you'd like to take a dip in our state-of-the-art aquatic center, burn some energy at our 12,000 square-foot fitness center, or take a fitness class, the SAC is where you can move. The SAC is also the second largest student employer at CMU! Whether you are working out or are part of our team at University Recreation, we strive for a sense of belonging for everyone. Kelly Shorts Stadium

Kelly Shorts Stadium has been Central Michigan University Football's home since 1972 and remains one of the best college football venues in the Mid-American Conference, or MAC. The stadium's seating capacity was expanded in 1998 to 30,255 seats, making it the largest on-campus stadium in the MAC. In 2019, a new video board and audio system were installed, giving the fan experience a major upgrade. The 50,000 square foot Chippewa Champions Center opened in the Fall of 2020. Located just beyond the north end zone of Kelly/Shorts Stadium, it is the premier athletic facility in the MAC.

As a popular spot to take photos after graduation, it also serves as a sort of connection between #lifeatcentral and all the amazing places are alumni lead.

Here in the academic heart of campus students have the opportunity to rest and relax between class. This space hosts 4 academic buildings where undergraduate students spend most of their time: Peace Hall, Anspach Hall, Dow Hall and Brooks Hall. Here you can also visit the Brooks Hall Greenhouse and Observatory, two places any student on campus can visit and enjoy regardless of their chosen academic major.
Powers Hall and Wightman Hall

If you don't know by now, we take leadership seriously at CMU, and Powers Hall is home to our Sarah R. Opperman Leadership Institute. The institute provides innovative, intentional, and inclusive leadership development opportunities for all CMU students, empowering everyone to contribute to a more socially responsible world with integrity and conviction. The Leadership Institute also offers scholarships for student leaders.
Across the street, Wightman Hall is home to the department of Art & Design which houses programs like Animation and Multimedia Design as well as our Fashion Merchandising and Design programs with recently upgraded studio spaces.

We are here in the heart of beautiful downtown Mount Pleasant, just a few blocks north of campus. Home to more than 170 businesses like remarkable specialty shops, art galleries, thrifting, eclectic dining, bars and bistros, plus year-round special events and activities. The downtown is bordered by the picturesque Chippewa River with two of the city's most scenic parks - Island Park and Nelson Park offering visitors easy access to our local trail system for walking or cycling.
