George Moore Academic & Administrative Building

We're beginning our tour at the George Moore Academic and Administrative building, Clinton's main academic building. This unique historic building was constructed in 1910 as the Hotel Champlain, and became the home of Clinton Community College in 1969. Out front, the oval is a great place to hang out and where activities such as the Annual Fall Festival and Cougar Games are held. There are spectacular views of the Adirondack Mountains to the West, Lake Champlain and the Green Mountains of Vermont to the East throughout this building.

Admissions and Financial Aid is an important stop as it's where you'll take the first steps to becoming a Clinton Cougar by submitting your application, applying for Financial Aid, and beginning the new student registration process. It's also where you'll find our Admissions and Financial Aid team if you need assistance. Everything a prospective student needs to become a Clinton Cougar can be found throughout the first floor of the Moore building, known as the Coolidge Student Support Services Center. Down the hall you can find the Registrar's Office, pay your bill, get Counseling and Advisement services, the Career Planning and Transfer Office, the Health Office, and the FSA Housing Office.

We're now at the Counseling & Advisement Office, a great resource for students, not just at the beginning of their college career, but at the end, too. Many students come to Clinton with a specific goal in mind – either completing their degree to get started in a career, or completing their degree so they can transfer to a four-year school. At the Counseling & Advisement Office students can receive academic advising and personal counseling services, as well as take advantage of a dedicated Career Planning and Transfer Office to assist in preparing for life beyond Clinton.

The Center for Community and Workforce Development offers non-credit courses and programs for personal and professional growth. Through CCWD, students can add industry certifications to their degree, or take advantage of professional training to boost their skills.

The Cougar's Den is where you'll find the student lounge and cafeteria, and is a popular place to hang out. Enjoy the spectacular view of Lake Champlain and Vermont from inside, or dine outside on the back patio. Across from the Cougar's Den you'll find the Student Senate. Students can connect with their elected Student Senators about campus clubs, events, and community involvement. Senators proudly serve as the student voice of Clinton, and being a Senator is one of many student leadership opportunities available on campus.

Clinton's Douglas Library houses over 43,000 volumes and maintains a print collection of magazines, journals and newspapers, as well as thousands of books and periodicals online. As part of the SUNY-wide interlibrary loan system, Clinton students have access to resources from libraries all over the state, in addition to what is housed on campus. The library is also a popular place for students to work and study, with dedicated group and quiet study areas. Reference services are available in-person, by phone, email, and online chat.

We've arrived at the nursing skills lab, home to Clinton's highly selective nursing program. The lab is equipped with cutting edge technology, including METIMan and Hal, interactive computerized "patients." On average, 98% of Clinton nursing graduates pass the NCLEX to receive their registered nursing license and continue on to find employment, or enter into a Bachelor of Science Nursing program. Clinton nurses are valued in the workplace for their preparation as competent and caring professionals.

SMART classrooms like this one are found throughout campus. These specialized classrooms allow students to learn using the latest interactive technology and software packages. Students can bring their own laptops and devices, or use one of the computer labs found around campus. To enhance the student experience and success rate, class sizes at Clinton tend to be small – you'll be one of around 20 students in your class.

One of the criteria that helped name Clinton one of the top community colleges in the nation was "support for learners." All Clinton students receive access to free professional tutoring in the Tutoring Center, as well as a 24-hour online tutoring network. Adjacent to the Tutoring Center is the Office for Accommodative Services. There, students who need learning accommodations can meet with the Learning Resource Specialist. The Tutoring Center and Accommodative Services staff members are dedicated to helping all students achieve their academic goals.

The Institute for Advanced Manufacturing is a new, thirty-thousand square foot facility set to open its doors in the fall of 2017. This state-of-the-art facility will house Clinton's technology programs, featuring hands-on training using top-of-the-line equipment. Students will gain valuable experience from our expert faculty, and graduate ready to immediately start working in their field.

William H. Forrence Health, Physical Education & Recreation Center

Cheer on your favorite Cougar athletic teams, or get into shape at the William H. Forrence Health, Physical Education and Recreation Center. This 40,000 square foot facility houses a weight room and workout equipment, dance studio, indoor track, basketball and racquetball courts. Clinton's athletic teams compete in the National Junior College Athletic Association, Division III Mountain Valley Conference. Teams frequently advance to regional playoffs, are often recognized for sportsmanship, and a high percentage of players are academically high-achieving scholar athletes. Go Cougars!

Ronald B. Stafford Center for Arts, Science & Technology

The Ronald B. Stafford Center is home to the arts, science, and technology programs on campus. Inside this beautiful building you will find a 170-seat, acoustically sound theatre, state-of-the-art technology labs filled with specialized equipment, science classrooms and labs, and art and photography studios. When you have time between classes in the Stafford Center you can relax in the spacious atrium with its breathtaking view of Lake Champlain and Vermont's Green Mountains.

Technology Programs

Technology fields are rapidly growing and if you're looking for a high tech career in computer, electronics, or mechanical technology, Clinton is a great place to start. Clinton offers several technology programs which lead to an Associate in Applied Science degree and upon successful completion, prepare students to immediately join the workforce. Transfer agreements are also available for students who want to continue their education with a bachelor's degree. Each technology lab has state-of-the-art equipment, as hands-on training and experience are key components to these programs.

Wind Energy and Turbine Technology, Renewable Energy Technologies, and Environmental Technology are unique programs which prepare graduates to work in a variety of fields, from wind energy, solar and hydro power generation, to environmental remediation and water quality assurance. The labs are fully equipped with advanced simulators and trainers, so students get the hands-on training they need with knowledgeable faculty who are specialists in their field.

The Science Department offers the Liberal Arts Associate of Science degree in Math and Science, a general education degree that allows a student to take a sampling of courses in a variety of disciplines, plus more in-depth courses in the areas of mathematics and science. Students who complete the Liberal Arts Math/Science degree following an advisement option, can usually transfer with "junior" status into a four-year bachelor's program.

The Liberal Arts: Humanities and Social Science Associate of Arts degree encompasses many different disciplines. Students can customize coursework to prepare for transferring to a four-year institution. Students can take fine art classes in our beautiful drawing, painting, and photography studios, seen here, as well as digital arts, illustration, and sculpture. Course offerings throughout the humanities and social sciences include foreign languages, history, music, public speaking, anthropology, economics, geography, political science, psychology, and sociology.

Students looking for a residential life experience may choose to live in one of Clinton's residence halls. Each hall is a three-story co-ed building, where residents share a room with one roommate, and share a bathroom with one adjoining room. Yes, some single rooms are available, and each hall has study lounges and recreation spaces, plus laundry facilities. Halls are staffed by a Resident Director and Residence Assistants. Also at the residential complex is PARC Dining Hall, where dinner is served daily, plus brunch on weekends.

The Alumni Cottage was built in 1890, and is one of the four remaining historic cottages on campus. The Alumni Association and community volunteers came together to beautifully restore this cottage, and it is open for use by current students, faculty, staff, and alumni who want to host meetings or events here. Upstairs, you will find the Institutional Advancement Office, archives dedicated to our graduates, and plenty of historic Clinton and Hotel Champlain memorabilia. We have a proud history here at Clinton, and with over 11,000 alumni world-wide, we love when alumni come back to share their stories.
