Welcome to Clayton State University, a public university located in Morrow, Georgia, approximately 15 miles south of Atlanta. Founded in 1969 as a junior college, Clayton achieved university status in 1996 and continues to add new baccalaureate programs, graduate school offerings, and facilities. The diverse university population consists of a majority of non-traditional students who are attending school for the first time after being in the workforce or returning for further education. The first floor of the Student Center is home to the Office of Undergraduate Admissions, the Financial Aid Office, and a Dental Hygiene Clinic, which is an important place for acquiring experience for those students enrolled in the Dental Hygiene program. On the second floor, you can find the Bursar's Office, Career Services, and a conference room that is used for a variety of events.

The 56,000-square-foot Clayton State University Library provides ample space for studying and conducting research, with seating for 250 patrons. Students benefit from access to more than 100,000 print materials, 27,000 e- books, and the ability to borrow from other libraries. An experienced staff can help you find relevant materials and even facilitates workshops on how to effectively use the library's resources.

The James M. Baker University Center is a multipurpose facility that houses the offices of the President and Sciences Dean, as well as International Programs and the School of Graduate Studies. Students and faculty members alike head to Lakeside Dining Hall, which offers a varied menu and food court options throughout the day.

Spivey Hall has been recognized as one of the best concert halls in the world, with a full calendar of musical performances and seating for 392 people. One of its most prominent features is the 4,400-pipe Albert Schweitzer Memorial Organ, which was created in Italy. Members of the campus community and residents of the metro Atlanta region come to Spivey Hall to hear jazz, classical music, and the award-winning Children's Choir.

Found on the eastern end of campus, the Harry S. Downs Center for Continuing Education is home to both continuing ed. programs and the School of Nursing. Continuing Education offerings include computer training, Industrial Technology courses, and certificate programs in a variety of fields like Gerontology, Web Design, and Event Planning.

The Student Activities Center at Clayton State is a 62,000-square-foot facility that serves as home base for many student organizations and activities. The state-of-the-art building includes a large ballroom, game room, music café, and a lounge area. In addition, a Fitness Center provides exercise equipment and classes to students at no charge.

Laker Hall is one of two residence options for those students who wish to live on campus. All first-year students are required to live in Laker Hall, which consists of furnished private bedrooms and multiple-person suites. Amenities include wireless internet access, laundry facilities, a snack shop, and kitchenettes. Laker Hall residents have the option of becoming part of Living Learning Communities, with a focus on an Honors program, healthy living, or green living.

The mission of the College of Business is to sufficiently prepare students to enter today's business world through a combination of faculty instruction, technology, mentor program, and real-world opportunities. Students pursuing the Bachelor of Business Administration can focus on accounting, marketing, management, or supply chain management. A fast-track MBA program allows full-time professionals to attend classes exclusively on Saturdays.

One of the newest buildings at Clayton State University, the 18,000-square- foot Laboratory Annex Building was dedicated in early 2011. Located adjacent to other major academic buildings on campus, the LAB provides additional space for the natural sciences, including four new laboratories, faculty offices, and a 48-seat classroom.
