University Center - the Heart of UWRF

The University Center, or UC as we call it, is where life happens here on campus! Pop into the Involvement Center to grab a free bagel once a week, join a club or hang out and study with friends in the comfy hammock chairs. Grab a caffeine boost before classes and take in all the amenities the UC has to offer. In the evenings, join us in the Falcon's Nest for everything from live bands to guest speakers, comedians, open mic nights and so much more.

Hungry? Head to the lower level of the UC! Breakfast, lunch, dinner and late night-there's a little bit of everything for everyone here. Sit and eat with friends at our all you care to eat option in Riverside Commons. You'll find homestyle entrees, salads, sandwiches, pizza, international options and so much more. Or, if you need to grab and go, check out one of our quick serve options that are just a few steps – and one card swipe – away!

Living on Campus

First and second-year students live in university residence halls. Upperclassmen can choose suite-style living options. You'll be close to classes, minutes away from dining options and in a safe, supportive environment. Plus it's only a quick walk from downtown River Falls! Your residence hall is your home away from home. Each has common spaces for cooking and hanging out with friends. Oh, and did we mention that laundry is free of charge. When you need a break, you'll find nature right at your doorstep as we have green space, walking trails and basketball and volleyball courts for you to enjoy!

SCITECH - Science and Technology Innovation Center

Pardon our dust as we build the future of STEM on our campus. The Science and Technology Innovation Center, or SciTech, will engage students from a wide range of majors in immersive, high-impact learning experiences in biology, chemistry, physics and psychological sciences. SciTech is also being built with business and industry leaders and entrepreneurs in mind. Employers will be able to build their talent pipeline in the University and Business Collaboration Center, where they'll interact with students and faculty through internships, collaborative research projects, presentations, strategic discussions, product design and joint professorships.

Ag. Food and Earth Sciences

Many of the programs that live in Ag Science are among the best in the nation- like animal science, conservation, food science, horticulture, environmental planning, engineering and more. Hands-on learning is a crucial piece of the UWRF experience and Ag Sci has incredible opportunities to do just that. Immersive learning experiences happen every day in our dairy, fruit, vegetable and meat processing labs, the greenhouse, the tissue culture lab, our two campus farms and ag engineering annex. Between in-class experiences and industry internships, you'll be more than ready to land your first job!

Teaching and Health Fields

UWRF is known nationwide for our education, social work and communication sciences and disorders programs. These programs are based in the Wyman Education Building. As a student, you're going to get hands-on experience beginning your first year on campus. Our education students learn from experienced classroom teachers and participate in school placements and on-site learning opportunities throughout their college careers. We've even got an on-campus Speech-Language and Hearing Clinic and a university preschool where students can gain both incredible hands-on experience and course credit.

STEM Fields

Interested in chemistry, physics or psychology? In Centennial Science Hall you'll do research, participate in labs, collaborate with faculty and so much more. Our interactive classrooms help you experience your classwork in hands-on ways, allowing you to build your critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Like many of our other buildings, faculty offices are right across the hall from classrooms, leading to meaningful interactions with your teachers.

Creative Arts and Languages

This is the hub for humanities programs, otherwise known as Kleinpell Fine Arts. In here, students perform on stage and in TV production studios, make art (including glassblowing!), write, study history, learn about other cultures, and much more. This building includes Abbott Concert Hall, Blanche Davis Theatre and Gallery 101 where there are tons of concerts, theater performances and gallery shows.

Business and Data Sciences

It's pretty ironic that our oldest building on campus is home to some of our most innovative and cutting-edge thinkers and doers! South Hall is home to our School of Business and Economics programs including accounting, economics, finance, management, marketing and more. Falcons develop practical skills in our trading room, our sales lab and our state-of-the-art maker space. Our faculty have strong connections with business and industry leaders from our local community and the greater western Wisconsin and Minneapolis St. Paul metro areas, creating unlimited networking opportunities!

Marketing, Math and Journalism

North Hall is home to the mathematics, marketing communications and journalism programs. The Student Voice newspaper and our radio station, WRFW, are both produced here. North Hall is also where you'll find registration and transcript-related information in the Registrar's Office (and rumor has it, Freddy Falcon lives in North Hall!).

Library and Textbook Rental

Our library is home to more than just books and places to study- it's also where you'll find our Esports arena! With both varsity and recreational offerings, the esports arena is full of state-of-the-art gaming equipment so you can up your game. ChalmerDavee Library is the place to study, get tech help and research assistance. The campus tech support team is called DoTS and they're located in the lower level of the library, meaning help is close by when you need it.

Two Campus Lab Farms

Mann Valley Farm is home to our dairy, beef, sheep and swine operations while the Campus Farm is home to our equine operations. Just minutes from campus, you can conduct research and do classwork here, work with real animals and even get a job on the farm! We partner with industry leaders like Case IH and WinField United, so you're going to be working and learning on the latest farm machinery and technology. The Campus Farm is also where the UWRF rodeo team hosts the oldest college rodeo in Wisconsin every fall.

Athletics and Recreation

You can sweat it out, perform at your peak, and excel in sports at the Falcon Center. Students receive FREE access to the Falcon Center, which is home to a fitness center, ice rink, indoor climbing center, state-of-the-art performance lab and group fitness studios. It's also home to our Health and Human Performance Department, where students learn in dynamic classrooms and labs! Rent eveything from bicycles to camping equipment and snowshoes to stand up paddleboards from Falcon Outdoor Adventures. Our NCAA Division Three teams compete in 20 varsity sports.

When you're here, you're not just part of the campus community but also the River Falls community. Downtown is just a short walk from campus. Your needs will be met here- both essentials like pharmacies, clinics, and groceries and the fun stuff too, like movie theaters, restaurants, coffee shops, and thrift stores. The incredible Minneapolis St. Paul metro area is only 30 minutes away, with all it's cultural experiences and career opportunities just a short trip away!
