Hello and welcome to SCAD, a global university for art and design, welcoming students from across the United States and more than 100 countries. Offering more than 100 undergraduate and graduate degree programs, SCAD is the most comprehensive and connected art and design university in the world. Before we begin today's tour, I'll describe a few of the tools you can use to explore our locations. To move along the tour route, click the forward-facing arrow. The "Next" button allows you to move to the next stop on the tour. If you already know where you want to go, you can select any location by using the list or by clicking directly on the map. At each tour stop, be sure to take advantage of the photo, video, and 360-degree options to see additional images, videos, and panoramic views of each location. Now you're ready to explore. This is Poetter Hall, SCAD's flagship building. When SCAD's doors first opened in 1978, this single building housed the entire university. Poetter Hall is now home to SCADstory, an immersive 4D experience exploring SCAD's history over 40 years. The building also features event and exhibition spaces, including the May Poetter Gallery and shopSCAD, our unique gallery-boutique that features artwork, décor, and designs by SCAD artists.

Located on Savannah's famous Forsyth Park, Deloitte Foundry hosts visitors from around the world as the university's welcome center. Sections of Deloitte Foundry were originally used as a hospital campus that first opened in 1819. Now, it houses the headquarters of SCADpro, the university's global design studio, where students collaborate with today's top businesses and brands, like Disney, Google, L'Oreal, and more. Professional preparation continues at the office for career and alumni success, where students get individual guidance from advisers.

International Student Success

Built in 1858, Norris Hall is located on the east end of Broughton Street, a short walk from the university's Jen Library, Trustees Theater, and the heart of Savannah's shopping and dining district. The building is home to the SCAD International Student Services Office and the SCAD Language Studio, which help international students from more than 100 countries acclimate to American culture and a college environment. The building has 11 classrooms, a computer lab, event space with a catering kitchen, and more.

School of Visual Communication

Welcome to Haymans Hall, home to SCAD's illustration department. With dedicated classroom and lab space for teaching traditional and digital methods of illustration, Haymans Hall provides students with the learning resources, technology and tools needed to succeed in a career in illustration. Technology labs are wired with a wide range of hardware and software, including advanced Wacom Cintiq displays that enable students to instantly convert drawings and paintings into digital work. Hayman's Hall also features a full-service printmaking lab for students to create work through conventional techniques such as silk screening, engraving and monoprinting. School of Film & Acting

Hamilton Hall is a storyteller's paradise. Here, the university houses classrooms and production suites for its film and television, sound design, and dramatic writing departments. Students from these programs and more collaborate on student-produced sitcoms like GRITS., Nailed It!, and Student Emmy Award for Best Scripted Series winner The Buzz, all filmed in front of live audiences at Hamilton Hall. State-of-the-art technologies throughout the building, including workstations, a Foley soundstage, an editing suite complete with digital video and audio manipulation capabilities, and one of SCAD Savannah's two green screen studios, support imaginative curricula. Crites Hall, open to SCAD acting and production design students, can also be viewed here.

School of Creative Technology

The Savannah Film Studios site is currently undergoing a major expansion that will make it the largest, most comprehensive university film studio complex in the nation. In fall 2021, SCAD opened a leading-edge mixed reality LED volume stage, which utilizes camera tracking and real-time rendering to create an immersive virtual environment, visible live on set and shot directly on camera. A Hollywood-style film backlot and three other facilities are also part of a landmark 10.9-acre buildout. Students in the Schools of Creative Technology, Film and Acting, and Animation and Motion have access to these unparalleled resources at SCAD.

School of Animation & Motion

Montgomery Hall offers more than 800 computers and has recycled-tire flooring to cut down on static electricity. An industry-standard render farm allows students in the animation, motion media design, and visual effects programs to quickly and efficiently produce computer-generated imagery. In addition, students can check out a range of equipment, from cutting-edge cameras and motion-capture kits to classic board games and consoles.

School of Design

Welcome to Adler Hall, home to the university's advertising and graphic design departments. A multilevel complex overlooking the Savannah River, this expansive space focused on postproduction includes two sound design workstation classrooms, Avid Media Composer and Avid Pro Tools workstation classrooms for audio and video editing, and a stop-motion shooting studio and fabrication shop, where students can create and build characters and sets. Adler Hall contains a new photography studio with equipment checkout, postproduction spaces and screening rooms. It also hosts classrooms and technology labs with production and presentation equipment. Other facilities at this stop include the Gulfstream Center for Design, The Shed, and Fahm Hall.

School of Fashion

Number Nine is a new building dedicated to the School of Fashion. Located across the street from Eckburg Hall, Number Nine provides seven sewing studios, two sketching studios, one computer lab with Gerber technology and one state-of-the-art digital textile printing lab. In addition, the building houses faculty office space and a conference/seminar room.

SCAD designed Morris Hall to radiate with style and sophistication — just like the students it now serves. In the award-winning SCAD luxury and brand management degree programs, students explore trend forecasting, product development, material sourcing, visual merchandising and retail, advertising, and more.

School of Fine Arts

Alexander Hall houses the SCAD Savannah painting and photography departments. Open 24 hours a day, it features classrooms, a critique area, graduate painting studios, formal and informal exhibition spaces, an acid room, grounds room, a dark room, and a ceramic arts room as well as a woodshop. Through SCAD Art Sales, a premier, full-service art consultancy offering distinctive design and curatorial services to a global clientele of collectors, businesses, and organizations, students can showcase and sell their work in exhibition spaces at the Alexander Hall Gallery and during Open Studio Night.

Foundation Studies

Originally built in 1926, Herstand Hall was acquired by SCAD in the 1980s. A renovation project led by a SCAD architecture alumnus created the striking, open, five-story atrium. Formerly named Bergen Hall, Herstand Hall hosts computer art classes from the School of Foundation Studies, the School of Creative Technology, and the School of Liberal Arts. The building features computer labs, lecture rooms, classrooms, and open study lounges and gathering spaces.

Located adjacent to the SCAD Museum of Art, Clark Hall is a surviving remnant of the historic Central of Georgia Railroad complex. The main building was originally constructed in 1887, and the sheds behind it date back to 1853. Clark Hall was acquired by SCAD in the 1980s and modernized in 2019 with new solar panels and efficient lighting, air conditioning. and plumbing systems to reduce energy usage by nearly 40%. Headquarters to the nationally recognized SCAD interior design programs, the architecture and architectural history departments, and the graduate urban design program, Clark Hall features a materials room, model shop, studio spaces, and drafting classrooms.

Equestrian Center

This is the Ronald C. Waranch Equestrian Center, a 100-acre complex designed for the university's equestrian team and the equestrian studies program. Located across the Savannah River, the center regularly hosts major equestrian events and includes paddocks, pastures, and competition arenas, as well as two barns for university and student rider horses. From this home base, the university's elite equestrian team has won the National Tournament of Champions every year since 2014. Students in the equestrian studies program focus on practical knowledge and learn from top trainers, judges, veterinarians, and horse show managers at guest lectures and events.

A home away from home, The Hive provides an inviting atmosphere for building a sense of community and serves as a hub of residential life for SCAD freshmen. The Hive features seven coeducational residence halls with suites, living rooms, extra-long twin-sized beds, desks, Wi-Fi and much more. The Hive buzzes with activity each day, from the lounges stocked with games in each residence hall to the pool at its center.

Located in The Hive, SCADfit is a premier fitness center that helps students stay on the path of health and wellness. Students can join group classes in Pilates, spin, yoga, Zumba and more; take a ride on cutting-edge Ciclotte monowheel exercise bikes; work individually with seasoned trainers; and cap off their workouts with a made-to-order smoothie at beeFUEL next door.

ResLife: Montgomery House

Located adjacent to Montgomery Hall, Montgomery House is a coeducational residence hall open to graduate, transfer, and upper class students. Approximately 500 students live at Montgomery House, which offers suite-style living with accommodations for four. Each suite has two double-occupancy bedrooms, a bathroom, a living room, air conditioning, and a work table, chair, and wardrobe unit for each resident. The building also features studios, study lounges, vending machines, and pay laundry machines. Dining hall Byte Cafe is located steps away in Montgomery Hall and specialty restaurant Carnival serves a wide variety of Asian-inspired cuisine, from sushi to Korean bulgogi.

ResLife: Victory Village

Welcome to Victory Village, which features three residence halls where upper class students can enjoy apartment-style living on campus, including during winter and summer breaks and summer quarter. Located in the Starland District of Savannah, this fully furnished residence hall features 24-hour on-site security and support from residence life and housing staff. Each room features apartment-style living with private bedrooms, single-floor apartments, full kitchens, Wi-Fi, and much more.

Available to first-year students, Turner House is a coeducational residence hall with double- or triple-occupancy rooms and private bathrooms. Approximately 850 students reside in Turner House, which is connected to The Hive and the SCAD Museum of Art through a scenic center courtyard. Each room features air conditioning, twin-size beds that can be bunked, cable and Internet access, a drafting table and stool, and a dresser for each resident. Turner House also features an on-site business office, a convenience store, a coffee shop, a build-your-own burrito shop, and pay laundry machines.

ResLife: The Chatham

Located in Savannah's Victorian District, Chatham is a suite-style residence hall for all students. This fully furnished residence features 24-hour on-site security and support from residence life and housing staff. You'll love overlooking the breathtaking view of Forsyth Park and the convenience of living in the heart of Savannah. Enjoy breakfast with friends at the popular restaurant located in the middle of the park or take a jog on its winding pathways. Complete your assignments in the sun while relaxing on the large grass-covered field, you might even catch an impromptu soccer game. For those with assistant animals, the park hosts weekly dog meetups for them to make friends.

ResLife: River

Nestled in the west end of downtown with splendid views of the Savannah River and the historic district, River is a suite-style residence hall for continuing students. This fully furnished residence features 24-hour on-site security and support from residence life and housing staff. River offers suite-style living with accommodations for four students. Each suite has two double-occupancy bedrooms, one bathroom, a living room, shared cabinets, wireless Internet access, and more.

SCAD Museum of Art

An award-winning architectural icon, the SCAD Museum of Art features emerging and established international artists in exhibition spaces built inside the oldest surviving antebellum railroad complex in the United States. Through these rotating exhibitions and commissioned pieces, the museum serves as a resource for SCAD students and alumni during their academic careers and beyond, inspiring and challenging them to push the boundaries of their own creative practices. The museum also hosts academic classes, workshops, lecture series, film screenings, gallery talks, and other SCAD signature events.

Library

A former department store, Jen Library now serves as SCAD Savannah's library. Occupying an entire city block, Jen Library is one of the largest art and architecture libraries in the U.S. and provides a place for students and faculty to actively engage in study and research. Here, the Writers' Studio offers students individual and small-group assistance with all aspects of the writing process, including editorial strategy, content structuring and thesis development, as well as assistance with cover letter and résumé writing. Worldwide, SCAD maintains a collection of more than 1 million print and electronic resources across SCAD libraries, the largest among art and design universities in the U.S.

SCAD Beach

Located just west of the SCAD Museum of Art, SCAD Beach is a calming, laid-back space for friend gatherings, social events, outdoor games, wellness activities, and performances. Featuring sable palms, real sand, and mood-setting ambient lighting, this relaxing atmosphere invites visitors to enjoy sun or shade in beach cabanas and hanging lounges. A full-scale lifeguard stand completes the beach aesthetic of the space and doubles as an audio/video booth for an adjacent 36-foot stage. The 16,000-square-foot courtyard offers respite from Savannah's bustling downtown historic district courtesy of the historic Central of Georgia Railroad complex's surviving Savannah Gray brick walls.
