The Hewitt Gallery of Art is a professional gallery for visual art students to gain first-hand experience in exhibition practices. MMC students curate, install, and present their work in individual and group exhibitions. The Gallery is well known in the New York art community and showcases the work of MMC students as well as contemporary, emerging, and established artists.
Great Hall - Carson Hall

The Great Hall is MMC's largest dance studio with sprung, Marley flooring and live accompaniment. Dance majors spend most of their days training in ballet, modern, and jazz. As the largest space on our campus, the Great Hall, able to accommodate 435 people, is used as a performing space for the Dance department and also for special events throughout the year.

The Judith *Mara* Carson Center for Visual Arts is MMC's beautiful, new hub of creativity. Occupying 12,000 square feet on the top of Carson Hall, the center allows MMC students to build the knowledge base and the skillset they need to thrive in NYC's creative economy.A soaring multipurpose space beneath a glass roof welcomes visitors. Light-filled studio spaces inspire the creation of 2D and 3D works. An immersive gallery with wrap-around display accommodates large-scale audio/visual projects. A dedicated art history classroom and expansive seminar room, plus flexible spaces for teaching, learning, exhibitions, and events, promote the melding of creative and critical practice—a hallmark of an MMC education.

The Ruth Smadbeck Communication and Learning Center, which provides free services to the community, is a valuable educational asset. MMC students obtain on-site observation, training, and supervision. Such training is rarely available at the undergraduate level.

The sixth floor of Carson Hall houses our biology, chemistry, environmental science, and neuroscience programs. MMC students conduct research alongside their professors and present their work at national scientific conferences, many times walking away with awards for their accomplishments. This close collaboration gives our students a huge advantage when going on to medical or graduate school or beginning their careers in a variety of health sciences.

The Commons Cafe is open Monday through Friday from the morning until the early evening. Here you are able to get a variety of delicious food that is freshly prepared and made to order by our chefs. You can use your MMC Dining Dollars at the commons cafe, the Starbucks in the Nugent Lounge, the 55th Street C-Store, and the Griffin Gear school store. AND, through MMC's special partnership with Grubhub, you can use your Dining Dollars to buy food from hundreds of restaurants in NYC and nationwide! Plus, there's no delivery fee!

The Lowerre Family Terrace is a beautiful rooftop oasis that connects our two academic buildings. It's a beautiful green space to hang out with friends or enjoy the outdoors without even having to leave campus. On nice days you may even find classes being held outside on the terrace's amphitheater.

Humanities and Social Sciences is a space where creative writing and literature and media students can study, relax, grab a coffee or snack, or come chat with their professors whose offices are all around the common room. Students can also browse our library and take a look at past issues of the Carson Review, our campus literary journal.
Thomas J. Shanahan Library - Nugent Hall

The Thomas J Shanahan Library comprises two floors: the upper level is a dedicated quiet space perfect for studying, while the lower level is great for meeting up with classmates to work on group projects. In addition to the many books, media materials, databases, and e-journals that MMC students can access, the library has 35 Mac Book Pros and 30 PC netbooks available for MMC students. Also located within the library is the Media Center, which houses an extensive video library, four flat monitors, and a variety of audiovisual hardware.

The Nugent Lounge is a popular common space and home to our own Starbuck's coffee house. MMC students hang out in here before or after class to chat with friends and professors. The student lounge is equipped with computers, an ATM machine, TV screens, and bulletin boards advertising the latest events happening on campus.

Intercultural Center

Located in Carson Hall 412, the Intercultural Center is a welcoming space on campus dedicated to providing a safe, educational, and social-justice oriented environment for students across marginalized groups. The IC curates experiences that are focused on community building, social support, and social justice competency.Designed to facilitate personal growth and community collaboration, the center features a 65-inch smart TV; coffee, tea, and snack station for student use throughout the day; microwave and small refrigerator; two computer work stations for student use; and a comfy sectional couch with computer outlets and charging ports for easy access.
55th Street Residence Hall

The 55th street residence hall is home to our first-year students. The 32-story high-rise building is among the tallest residence hall in the country and houses more than 500 students in fully-furnished, two-bedroom apartments. Here you'll share a living area, bathroom, and kitchenette with 3-6 roommates. The building is just steps away from major subway lines as well as uptown, downtown, and crosstown buses, so the whole city is easily accessible. Plus, many of the rooms have the most amazing views of Manhattan!

Cooper Square is located in the East Village, one of NYC's hippest neighborhoods for college students. The East Village is full of New York City history and culture and is also a hub for the some of the best new restaurants and trendiest shops.

Located at 6th Street and Cooper Square, this residence hall houses sophommore, junior, and senior MMC resident students and transfer students in fully-furnished suites. Each suite has either two or three bedrooms, with one or two full bathrooms depending on the number of residents, and a kitchenette. Check out the Terrace on the 7th floor for beautiful views of downtown Manhattan or the below-ground level for our fitness center, laundry room, and a hangout space for MMC students.
