We are currently outside our first year residence halls. We have 20 single-gendered residence halls for first year students that look just like this, with about 50 students living in each hall. First year students are required to live on campus for their first 2 years, and transfer students are required to live on campus for their first year. The first year housing experience is one of the most important ways we build community on campus. Although housing is not guaranteed for juniors and seniors, we offer both double and single occupancy rooms in apartment-style housing for upperclassmen, and many juniors and seniors opt to live in off-campus apartments in the nearby Malibu and Calabasas areas. Before we get started, let me explain the many ways you can explore our beautiful space. -You can click on the forward facing arrow to start walking around. -You can jump to the next stop by clicking on the "Next" button. -Now, if you already know where you want to go, you can select any location by using the list OR by clicking directly on the map. -Lastly, remember that you can explore any particular location in more detail by clicking the supplemental icons.

Lobby

Welcome to DeBell hall. This lobby serves as a common gathering space where students meet to watch favorite TV shows, study, or participate in small groups. 3 student leaders live with the residents in each hall. Two Resident Advisors or "RAs" program events geared toward personal and community development, uphold community standards, and serve as peer counselors. The Spiritual Life Advisor or "SLA's" primary role is to foster and provide opportunity for a healthy spiritual environment for residents in their halls. The residential community is very important to the university, and our Office of Housing and Residential Life is committed to providing social outlets and support for the residents.

Suite

We have now moved into one of the suites in DeBell hall. In total, there are 6 suites in each hall. Each suite has a shared living area, shared bathroom, and 4 bedrooms with 2 people per room. In total, there are 6 suites in each hall. The living areas in each suite come furnished with 2 couches, a loveseat, and a lounge chair. Pepperdine is a dry campus, which means drugs and alcohol are prohibited at all times. We also have visitation hours for members of the opposite gender, which end between 1 AM and 10 AM in the suites, and between 2 AM and 7 AM in the lobby.

Room

This is one of the four bedrooms in the suite, which each house 2 residents. Each resident is typically provided with an extra-long twin bed, a dresser, a small bookcase, and a desk with a chair. Every room is equipped with high speed internet access and the option of renting a university approved refrigerator and microwave unit. Our halls also have access to a web-based television service that allows residents to watch live TV on their phones, computers, tablets, and televisions, and utilize DVR service. Students can have a car on campus for all 4 years at no cost, they simply need to register their car with our Department of Public Safety.

Bathroom

There is a bathroom in each suite which has 2 sinks, 2 toilets, and 2 showers shared by the 8 residents of each suite. We have a housekeeping service that empties the trash regularly, vacuums all the common areas, and cleans the bathrooms once a week. There is also a laundry room in each hall, where students can use their debit or credit cards on the shared washers and dryers. Thanks for exploring our housing tour!
