Welcome to David D. Glass Hall, home to the Missouri State University College of Business. Glass Hall is a state-of-the-art academic space that underwent a $35-million-dollar renovation and expansion project, completed in 2017. These new and updated facilities provide opportunities for you to obtain a high-impact education focused on experiential learning. As a business student, you can choose from 27 different undergraduate programs and six graduate programs. The College also has space in nearby Kemper Hall. Construction Management and Mechanical Engineering Technology students benefit from several specialized classroom and laboratory spaces. Before we get started, let me explain the many ways you can explore our beautiful spaces. -You can jump to the next location by clicking the arrow, or, if you already know where you want to go, you can select any location from the list on the sidebar. O'Reilly Auto Parts Grand Atrium

The O'Reilly Auto Parts Grand Atrium, part of the Robert Gourley Student Success Center, serves as the main entrance into the College of Business.  This open and airy space is the hub of our College for a variety of activities.  Here you will find your fellow students studying, meeting with group members between classes, and socializing.  The 40-foot video wall provides information on the latest campus happenings and important deadlines you do not want to miss.  The Atrium is also the location of special events like awards banquets, receptions, and graduation celebrations.  There is also a café just steps away. My favorite features in the space are the floating staircases and the ability to see all the way up to the fourth floor.

FORVIS-Mazars Trading Lab

The FORVIS-Mazars Financial Markets Trading Lab is an invaluable hands-on learning environment for finance majors at MSU. The Lab contains 41 computer workstations, 11 of which include Bloomberg terminals.  Bloomberg is the premier information resource tool used by professional traders.  In this Lab, you can earn a certification in Bloomberg Market Concepts prior to graduation. The MSU Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Research Challenge Teams regularly make extensive use of the Bloomberg terminals each year when they compete in the Kansas City CFA Society competition. Located across the hall is the Ollis Family Study Away Office.  Our college offers a generous $750 award, to eligible business majors who participate in an education abroad program.  Each year there are opportunities for you to study business around the globe for a week, a summer, or even a full semester.

IT Infrastructure and Cybersecurity Lab

The IT Infrastructure and Cybersecurity Lab is in a class all of its own.  Here you will gain hands-on experience in developing IT and cybersecurity skills.  The Lab, which operates on its own dedicated infrastructure, provides you the opportunity to experiment with different network configurations, to build IT infrastructure, and to experience various cybersecurity techniques and simulations in a safe environment. The Student Security Operations Center down the hall allows students to work on projects, conduct research, and participate in national collegiate cyber defense competitions. It is modeled after a professional Security Operations Center. These spaces provide students with a competitive edge in technical skills, team collaboration and career readiness.

Center for Academic and Professional Success

The Center for Academic and Professional Success houses two very important offices to assist you, the Business Advisement Center, and the Career Center. Within the Business Advisement Center, professional full-time academic advisors will assist you with the admission process, course sequencing toward graduation, and course registration. Your advisor also provides recommendations for other campus resources, such as tutoring and financial aid. The Career Center staff members will assist you with professional development to help you prepare for your future career. Throughout the year, you can meet one-on-one with a career resources specialist or attend one of the many career-related events, such as the College of Business Career Fairs with regional and national organizations recruiting for internships and full-time positions.

Peak Performance Sales Lab

Top sales students are in high demand. Students in this program learn leading sales strategies and techniques in our state-of-the-art Tim Foote and Mike Oldham Families Peak Performance Sales Lab. The Lab provides the latest software to capture student role-plays on video and enables faculty to provide 360-degree feedback in real-time: verbally and visually. MSU organizes role-play competitions in the Lab each semester with sales professionals from nationally recognized companies. Company personnel pose as buyers and judges, while you gain experience and confidence in your selling skills. High-performing students have the opportunity to join the marketing department's sales team and participate in regional and national competitions!

North Terrace

The Tim Foote Family Outdoor Terrace is located on the fourth floor of Glass Hall. This is an ideal spot to study, meet your friends, or enjoy a snack between classes. The views of campus are spectacular. During the fall semester, you can enjoy the sights and sounds of the MSU Pride Marching Band practicing across the street. You also have a great view of the action at the Betty and Bobby Allison South Stadium, home to both MSU men's and women's soccer teams as well as women's track and cross country. Throughout the year, you can enjoy views of the downtown Springfield skyline as well as the Foster Recreation Center.

South Concourse

The south concourse is located on the first floor of Glass Hall. You can use this area as study and social space before, between, and after classes, and late into the evening. There are 2 team collaboration rooms within the south concourse, and an additional 11 throughout Glass Hall. Many of these team rooms are equipped with a large digital screen, charging station, and mobile whiteboard. Everything you need to prepare for a group project or presentation. There is also a large student study lounge on the fourth floor and many other casual study spaces throughout the building. With these spaces and the café on the first floor, you will quickly view Glass Hall as your second home!

Marlin Think Tank

The Marlin Think Tank for Creative Thinking in Business is a multi-functional, interactive, and collaborative learning space.  This space provides furniture that may be rearranged into several layouts. Also included is a large digital screen for displaying team projects, a floor-to-ceiling whiteboard for brainstorming, as well as floor-to-ceiling windows. Faculty, students, and student organizations in the Marketing Department predominantly use the Think Tank. However, other departments within the College also utilize this unique space for consulting projects with community partners and other experiential learning opportunities.

McDonald Entrepreneurship Lab

The McDonald Entrepreneurship Lab is located on the first floor of Glass Hall and combines practical hands-on experience with academic knowledge. The three-room facility offers a state-of-the-art laser engraver and access to other equipment.

The Lab presents students with real entrepreneurial experience and sparks their interest in starting new businesses. The Lab's mission includes helping students become better entrepreneurs, managers, and leaders.

Merchandising and Fashion Design Lab

Students in Merchandising and Fashion Design gain real-world experience in the state-of-the-art Merchandising and Fashion Design Lab. Computers in the lab equipped with the most up-to-date and innovative 3D software used by designers and merchandisers across the globe. Because of this, our students are highly sought after by some of the world's largest retailers and renowned design firms. Students are also given many opportunities to connect with industry professionals and have the opportunity to travel to New York City to visit fashion empires including Tommy Hilfiger, Cotton Incorporated, the New York Market and more.

Linda Bailey Interior Design Studio

The Linda Bailey Interior Design Studio is outfitted with state-of-the-art software that Interior Design students will use in their careers. Students learn the ins and outs of computer-aided design and 3D modeling. Our curriculum will help students transform their passion for aesthetics, functionality, and the physical environment into a career as an interior designer. The Design Lab by Grooms next door inspires interior design students to create unique spaces for living and working. The lab is fully equipped with the latest amenities including a comprehensive library full of fabrics, paints, wood, tile, stone, and other finish material samples.

Judy and Mike Breeding Accounting Analytics Lab

The Judy and Mike Breeding Accounting Analytics Lab prepares our accounting students for a challenging and rewarding career. Students are exposed to popular industry platforms for accounting analytics and emerging technologies. The hands-on experience students gain in the lab introduces them to technology concepts. The lab allows students to apply what they are learning in class rather than passively absorbing the concepts in theory.
