Welcome to the tour of the North West University's Potchefstroom campus.
This campus is one of three campuses of the North West University.
The other campuses are the Vaal triangle and the Mafikeng campus.
Before we start the tour let me quickly explain how the navigation works.

This is the gallery, one of the newer additions to campus. It is located on the ground floor of the Ferdinand Postma library.
Since the early 20th century the founders of the campus bought works of famous South African artists like Pierneef, Gregoire Boonzaaier and August Venter. Today the campus boasts an art collection of about 1300 artworks.
The gallery is used for formal university functions and art exhibitions of which one is the exhibition of the main artist's work during the Aardklop art festival.
Ferdinand Postma Library

Now we are in front of the Ferdinand Postma library. This is the biggest of 5 libraries on campus. The library was named after a former university rector, who played an important role in the establishing of the university.
The library has 5 levels with extensive collection of books and other media. The library consists of various computer halls, group study areas, the Ferdi Coffee shop and lecture halls.
Calvyn Fountain

Our next stop is the Calvyn-fountain. The fountain is named after the influential theologian Johannes Calvyn and reflects the campus' origin in the late 1800's as training institution for parsons.
This fountain connects the North and South campus and has over the years been a seen for many a student prank.
From this point you have a panoramic view of the beautiful campus gardens, the library and building of various faculties and schools.
We are now walking through one of three entries to the Hennie Bingle student centre. On the left and right-hand side is the offices of the various town hostels for students who prefer to live in town.

We are now in the centre of the Hennie Bingle Student centre, the heart of all student activities on campus. Although the building was completed in 1980, it has constantly been rebuilt to meet the growing needs of the campus and its students.
The centre consists of a sport centre, with various indoor sport facilities;
The amphi theatre, where many student activities, competitions and shows take place; and
A cafeteria where students and staff can buy anything from a hamburger to a cooked meal. The centre also offers a cosy coffee shop and the campus radio station, PUKfm.

Students like to sit here and drink up the sun or relax under the trees between classes.
We are now at the Lovers Lane entrance of the Administration building. This is where you will be standing at the beginning of the new academic year to register.

The offices of the Dean for Student affairs,as well as the Campus rector are in this building. Here you can get your student records and put money on your student card.

Our next stop is the admissions office. Prospective students come here to apply for admission to the university.
This building also houses the school for communication studies.
Bursary & Student Loan Offices

Do you need financial assistance during your studies?
The Bursary and Loan office is next to the admissions office across the road from the Administration building. Various forms of financial assistance are offered by this office for graduate and post graduate students.
Visit this office in time if help is needed.
Auditorium

Our last stop is the Sanlam Auditorium on the street side entrance of the Student centre. The auditorium has over 1000 seats and is the place where major productions by national as well as international artist are held.
The auditorium regularly host student's productions as well as shows during Aardklop.
