Welcome to our virtual tour Columbia Business School in the Manhattanville neighborhood of New York City. The tour will begin with popular locations in Henry R. Kravis Hall and conclude with points of interest in David Geffen Hall. Connected by a public park above, as well as an underground passageway, both buildings are named in honor of benefactors to the School and were designed by acclaimed architecture firm Diller Scofidio + Renfro in partnership with FXCollaborative. In 492,000 square feet of space, we provide state-of-the-art learning facilities, study rooms, and dedicated locations for events, meetings, recruiting activities, and networking.

Robert F. Smith ’94 Dining Hall

We have a variety of dining options on campus, but our largest dining space is the Robert F. Smith Dining Hall, located on the second floor of Henry R. Kravis Hall. Open daily, it serves breakfast and lunch, also carrying fresh salads, sandwiches, and seasonal favorites. The Café in David Geffen Hall is the perfect place to pick up to-go items like tea, coffee, house-made pastries, and gourmet ready-to-go sandwiches. These dining locations, along with local food vendors, also feature products made by startups who participate in the Harlem Local Vendor Program.

Our campus features three quiet lounges. Two in David Geffen Hall in addition to this one on the fourth floor of Henry R. Kravis Hall. These spaces provide students an opportunity to focus and study with limited noise and distractions. The Rebecca A. John lounge is named in support of Columbia Women in Business, which is a student club of more than 400 active members, that provides opportunities for education, support, and networking.

The Elizabeth B. Strickler and Mark T. Gallogly Student Lounge & Screening Room, also connected to the Stephens Family Game Room, is on the fourth floor of Henry R. Kravis Hall. This is where you can relax and socialize throughout the day. Our Office of Student Affairs is actively dedicated to assisting students at every stage of their journey. Advisors help students navigate many personal and academic support resources to help ensure the well-being and success of our diverse population. The team also helps students operate more than 100 student organizations and affinity groups.

The Dining Room

We are now at the Dining Room on the tenth floor of Henry R. Kravis Hall. This space facilitates various events including conference lunches, various networking events, as well as dining for Executive Education students. On the Laura Y. Chang and Arnold L. Chavkin Terrace, you can take in an incredible view of the Hudson River, the Manhattanville neighborhood, and the New York City skyline.

Columbia Business School has more than 30 classrooms and each features the latest digital communications and presentation technologies. This is a view of the Lawrence Flinn Jr. Classroom on the 10th floor in Henry R. Kravis Hall. This floor is also home to Executive Education, which provides learning opportunities for professionals from New York City and around the world. Designed for the needs of high-impact business leaders, Executive Education provides open-enrollment programs — available in person, live online, or online — in leadership, strategy and innovation, finance and investing, marketing and more.

The Walter and Shirley Fan Wang Link is a subcellar passageway that connects David Geffen Hall and Henry R. Kravis Hall. This is where you will find storage lockers conveniently located between both campus buildings. Perfect for when the weather isn’t, “The Link” is fully accessible by elevators and stairwells and is home to the Ming Chu Hsu Media Suite, fitness room, showers, and lactation room.

We've arrived at the lobby on the first floor of David Geffen Hall. As a tribute to our long-time former Dean, this space is formally known as the Jerry Speyer Class of 64 in honor of Glenn Hubbard Lobby. On the first floor, the Café is to your right and the Leon G. Cooperman Commons is to your left. This spectacular auditorium is one of the school's largest gathering spaces and is frequently used for conferences, guest lectures, and marquee presentations. Guest speakers include executives from Fortune 500 companies, government leaders, and notable entrepreneurs. David Geffen Hall is where you will find admissions, Executive MBA Lounge, Office of Student Affairs, research centers and programs, the Career Management Center, and additional administrative departments.

CBS Board Innovation Lab

On the second floor of David Geffen Hall is the CBS Board Innovation Lab, a dedicated space for nurturing new business ventures that are created and led by members of the Columbia University community. The Eugene M. Lang Entrepreneurship Center, provides notable courses, incubators, and early-stage financial support to turn your ideas into action. In the last decade, Columbia Business School alumni have created more than 700 venture-backed startups and over 20 unicorns. The Columbia-Harlem Small Business Development Center, part of the School's Community Partnership program, is located next to the Innovation Lab.

The Lulu Chow Wang Alumni Suite is on the second floor of David Geffen Hall, near Cooperman Commons. This gathering space provides an opportunity for alumni and guest speakers to meet with students. David Geffen Hall and Henry R. Kravis Hall feature study spaces that students can easily reserve in advance or on the same-day. They are perfect meeting places for students to study in groups and collaborate on projects. The quiet lounges are for individual study purposes, and offer natural light and gorgeous views. Private booths can also be reserved for taking phone and video calls.

On the seventh floor of David Geffen Hall, you’ll find the Henry S. Miller Recruiter's Lounge located in the Career Management Center. The CMC empowers students and alumni to achieve their lifelong career ambitions. It provides one-on-one career planning support, tactical advice, and resources to degree-program students, and alumni, in their search for internships and full-time employment. Our students have unmatched access to top industry leaders in New York City, and the Executives-in-Residence program pairs industry leaders with students for mentoring and coaching sessions.
