Rasmussen Center

Rasmussen houses the art, sociology, political science, game design, graphic design and interactive media programs on the first floor. Art and design students enjoy using the Prairie Meadow Art Gallery, art studios and Mac labs, to study, exhibit and create. Education, psychology, criminal justice, human services and social work students and classrooms are found on the second floor. The second floor is also home to the ALT Center, offering GV students free tutoring and learning support. Oh, did we mention we have Des Moines's largest skywalk? Use the Jensen Bridge to stay warm in the winter on your way to lunch!

Student Center

Grand View's Student Center serves as the hub of campus activity. CJ's Place is a popular spot for anyone looking to hangout between class, study, or grab a quick bite to eat. Hansen Student Life and Success Center houses our residential, counseling, Career Center and student life offices. The Speed Lyceum hosts a variety of events including speakers and musical performances. Communication students use the Student Center's video and podcast studios. Plus, be sure to check out our conference room on the second floor overlooking the Central Plaza providing one of the most beautiful views on campus. Carlson Commons Dining Hall, Viking Theatre and the Bookstore are also found here.

Residential Living

Grand View offers a full range of on-campus living options including traditional dorms, suite-style and apartment living. The L and Hull apartments are upper-class complexes offering two through six person apartments with private bedrooms, living room, kitchen, private bathrooms and central air. Hull and Langrock Suites are a favorite for new and returning students and great relationship-building spaces. Suites have four students in two bedrooms and include a living room, private bathroom and air conditioning. Our nPod, a unique living community reserved specifically for nursing students, is housed in Langrock. Nielsen and Knudsen halls are traditional-style dormitories for first-year students.

Nursing Simulation Lab

Nursing is one of Grand View's largest and oldest academic programs. In fact, nursing was the first major on campus to award the baccalaureate degree. Grand View's nursing students benefit from hands-on learning through the Nursing Simulation Lab. The skills learned set Grand View nursing graduates apart and they are recognized across the state and nationally as leaders in the nursing profession. The Simulation Lab includes medical training manikins that provide cutting-edge training and experience.

Charles S Johnson Wellness Center

The Wellness Center is at the heart of Grand View's large athletics program. The center hosts GV men's and women's volleyball games, including the NAIA Men's National Championships. Features include batting cages, a jogging track, community weight room, aerobic and physical training studio, coaches offices and locker rooms. The Grand View women's wrestling team holds practice in a newly remodeled upstairs wrestling room. Also included is an athlete-only weightroom featuring 10 NFL Grade power lift stations and a full-time strength coach. The GV Student Health Center, with eight examination rooms and medical staff is available for students who are feeling ill.

Dave Sisam Arena

Home to the Grand View men's and women's basketball and wrestling programs, NAIA Conference Championship and National Championship banners drape every square inch of this highly decorated arena. Come root on your Vikings and witness NAIA championship-level competition! All sporting events are free to Grand View students.

Luhrs Athletic Complex

Home games are played on campus at the Luhrs Athletic Complex on the Richard O. Jacobson Field, located behind the Charles S. Johnson Wellness Center. Baseball plays at the Lou Yacinich Stadium dedicated to longtime GV Coach and alumnus, Lou Yacinich, who holds the longest tenure of active NAIA coaches. Be sure to check out his stadium dedication ceremony video. Grand View men's and women's soccer teams practice at Luhrs and host their home matches at the nearby Cownie Sports Complex.

Viking Events Center

The GV wrestling team practice facility is located at the Viking Events Center, one of the top wrestling facilities in the country, including a personal training room, lounge, locker room and a large training area. The facility was opened in November of 2014 and is located just north of Grand View. Home wrestling matches are held in Sisam Arena which is located on campus in the Johnson Wellness Center.

Duke Williams Stadium

Williams Stadium is home to our football and outdoor track and field teams. Located just south of Grand View University, the Stadium features a brand new locker room facility and newly renovated top-of-the-line artificial turf and track. Grand View fan seating is located on the west side of the stadium.

Athletic Training Facilities

Our Athletic Training Room is located in the basement of Knudsen Hall, attached to the north side of the Johnson Wellness Center. Therapeutic modalities include: ice tubs, game preparation, heating pads, ultrasound and electric stimulation. Plenty of space and padded seating allows for quick athletic taping of ankles and wrists.

Esports Arena

Grand View provides an exclusive Esports practice facility and arena for the team. Located in Nielsen Hall, this member-only access gaming area boasts state-of-the-art equipment including 36 fully-furnished stations, a projector and VOD review area. Grand View Esports is proudly sponsored by HYPERX who proivde Cloud II gaming headsets, Pulsefire Surge RGB gaming mice, Alloy Origins Core- HyperX Aqua Switch and Fury S gaming mouse pads.

Library

The library provides students access to over 26,000 journals, a vast print collection and thousands of electronic resources that can be accessed from anywhere with your GV login. Convenient printing, computer access, small group study rooms with large-screen TVs with laptops are all featured within. Quiet study space is available on the second floor. In addition, the library features Einstein Bros. Bagels! This is the perfect spot to grab a bite, gourmet coffee or smoothie while you are studying or on your way to class.

Krumm Business Center

Named after Daniel J. Krumm, former CEO of the Maytag Corp and long time benefactor of Grand View, Krumm Business Center holds classes for accounting, business administration, business analytics, sport management and management information systems. This building contains the Centrum, one of three lecture halls on campus where guest speakers and classes are held. Also featured in Krumm is the Collaboration Lab, which allows students to apply group problem-solving to academic criteria or real-world case studies.

Humphrey Center/Luther Memorial

Grand View was founded by Danish Immigrants in 1896 as Grand View College. The Humphrey Center was the first building on campus. It served as housing, classrooms, dorms, dining hall and offices. Today the building serves as the hub of university operations housing the offices of Admissions, Advancement, the Business Office, Financial Aid, Human Resources, Marketing, Office of the President and Provost, and the Registrar's office. In front of Humphrey is "The Rock". Appearing on campus in the early 1900s, students continue a 100-year tradition of painting the rock with campus events and messages. Grand View's Memorial Gardens are located on the northeast side of the building.

Elings Hall

Elings is home to Grand View's STEM programs. Biology, Chemistry, Physical Science and Mathematics hold classes here. With one of the largest collections for a university our size, the building houses over $1 million in scientific instrumentation. Another unique feature is the cadaver lab, where students learn hands-on about the body during anatomy. Also located in Elings is a STEM analytics lab for computational work, a STEM lounge for students and multiple labs that give student researchers experience, such as their recent reasearch into plastic-eating enyzymes.

Des Moines

Conveniently located in Des Moines, Grand View offers student experiences you won't get in a small town. Intern with some of Iowa's largest companies including Principal Financial, Wells Fargo, HyVee, Meredith, or counmtless others. Go have fun! Catch a concert or Iowa Wild hockey match at the Wells Fargo Arena. Baseball more your style? Watch the Iowa Cubs play at Principal Park. Attend the Iowa State Fair! Wander Iowa's largest farmer's market downtown. Then enjoy any of the hundreds of amazing restaurants options in Des Moines. Stroll the Blank Park Zoo and visit the numerous art and music festivals.
