http://www.stvincent.edu | Emily LaSlavic completed a certification in Business, Computer and IT teaching in December 2015 and will complete a Master of Science in Special Education in May 2017. While completing her degree, she has worked as a graduate assistant in the Graduate and Continuing Education Office and is teaching computer skills part-time in Franklin Regional School District. “Choosing Saint Vincent College to prepare me for the 21st century demands of education was the best decision I have ever made. Working with each professor in a small class environment helped me to build a connection with them so that I could learn the most valuable lessons about education, Emily said. “Working with the professors in the Master of Science in Special Education has helped me to become an effective special educator and to learn that there is no set of rules for Special Education; rather, you have to treat every student as an individual. Working with the Bearcat B.E.S.T. program gave me a hands-on opportunity to learn about the certain needs and characteristics of such a diverse population. Saint Vincent College has been a huge influence on how I teach in the classroom and will continue to be a resource for me as I continue my career as an educator.” Follow Us on Social: Facebook - http://www.facebook.com/saintvincentcollege Snapchat - http://www.snapchat.com/add/mysaintvincent Twitter - http://www.twitter.com/MySaintVincent Instagram - http://www.instagram.com/saintvincentcollege Flickr - https://www.flickr.com/photos/saintvincentcollege/
