One of UVA's many traditions, Lighting of the Lawn, happens each December before finals. Thousands of students flock to the lawn to drink hot chocolate, watch acapella groups perform, and see the enormous light show, tailored to different music each year, that illuminates the rotunda and the lawn pavillions.
