The Mainstage Theater in WWU’s Performing Arts Center has been hosting performances for the Bellingham Community since the early 1950’s. The 1,080 seat proscenium hall continues to present a wide variety of events from cutting-edge original drama to classical dance and from musical comedy to contemporary popular music. The space boasts a full counterweight rigging system; a 40’ x 35’ performance area with generous wing space; a large automated orchestra pit; ample dressing room facilities; up-to-date lighting capability; and true state-of-the-art sound and projection systems. Western is also very proud to be able to exhibit a number of the newest additions to its nationally recognized art collection in the theater's lobby area. The staff of the PAC is made up of seasoned professionals who are able to help make any event a success whether it’s a simple lecture or a touring Broadway musical.
