The Genomics Core Facility in the Life Sciences Building provides services that facilitate genetics and genomics research, such as DNA sequencing, which enables decoding the genetic code of all living organisms, and microarray analysis, which enables researchers to simultaneously measure the level of activity of all of the genes in an organism. The facility helps researchers make novel discoveries, including the molecular mechanisms of cancer development, the genes that control crop growth and responses to environmental stresses, and the structure and function of symbiotic microbial communities in insects.
