The Art Study Center is a resource for students and other visitors to have close-looking experiences, by appointment, with works of art not on display in the galleries. Undergraduate and graduate classes from many disciplines are also held here. Across the courtyard, visitors can see cabinets of colorful pigments, part of the materials collection held by the Straus Center for Conservation and Technical Studies, the first fine arts conservation, research, and training facility established in the United States.
