University Hall

University Hall features a mix of general use classrooms and dedicated laboratories and clinical spaces for programs in Nursing, Communication Disorders, and Public Health. Our six Nursing Simulation Labs recreate scenarios that play out in actual care units, providing nursing students with hands-on experience in a clinical environment. The Speech and Hearing Clinic provides diagnostic and therapeutic services for the community with 15 therapy rooms and 14 observation rooms where students in our communication disorders program gain experience working with local patients. University Hall also includes 13 group study rooms and the popular Einstein Bros. Bagels.

Grant Hall

Barbara Moll Grant Hall is a academic classroom building that houses four state-of-the-art kinesiology laboratories including a human performance lab, phlebotomy lab, biomechanics lab, and motor behavior lab. Grant Hall also features 14 smart classrooms, a 90-seat auditorium, numerous small and large group study rooms, the Writing Center, and offices for the Department of English and Department of Philosophy.

Skyline Hall is the newest of our residence halls, all featuring semi-suites. Each suite has 2-shared double rooms and a bathroom accommodating four residents. As with all of our residence halls, Skyline Hall includes shared common areas, a beautiful main lounge, quiet study spaces, free laundry facilities, air conditioning, and wireless internet throughout the building. When you join our community of active undergraduates living on campus, you'll be at the center of it all, sharing your college experience with fellow students from every background and perspective. Athletics

The Pioneers compete in NCAA Division III as well as the Eastern College Athletic Conference and New Jersey Athletic Conference. Our athletic areas include Wightman Stadium, home to football and field hockey; Jeff Albies Field for baseball, and our Pioneer Softball Field. Our intercollegiate sports teams also include men's basketball, golf, soccer, and swimming and diving, as well as women's basketball, soccer, swimming and diving, tennis, and volleyball. We also have a variety of club sports, intramurals, and recreational activities that make it easy to get active and have fun.

University Commons is the hub of campus life and provides a fun and active social environment for students. It's a great place to study, grab lunch, or relax, and is especially popular during "common hour" on Tuesdays and Thursdays when no classes are scheduled. Here you'll find Wayne Dining Hall, Paterson Food Court, the Bookstore, an Arcade, and offices for Campus Activities, Student Government Association, Center for Diversity and Inclusion, Career Development, and more. It's also a meeting place for many of our nearly 100 student clubs and organizations, which offer something for everyone!

Our redesigned Wayne Dining Hall features 10 themed stations with fresh, made-to-order meals ranging from hand-tossed pizza to fresh charbroiled burgers, international cuisines, and an allergen-free station. Paterson Food Court offers delicious sushi, sandwiches, salads, pizza, and more. Other options include Cafe 1600 at 1600 Valley Road, Einstein Bagels in University Hall, and the W Store in our Century residence hall for late-night snacks and other items. You can also use your Pioneer Express dollars at many off-campus eateries.

Great careers start at WP! Our Career Development Center helps students achieve their goals and transition from classroom to career. Students and alumni have access to a full suite of services, including resume preparation, LinkedIn coaching, career counseling, interview skills, and job and internship searches. In addition, our Pesce Family Mentoring Institute pairs students with successful professionals--including University alumni--as mentors. WP graduates go on to pursue an incredible variety of in-demand professions, earning $1 million more over the course of their careers than an individual without a bachelor's degree.

Science Complex

Hennings Hall and Science Hall West form our ultra-modern science complex. These buildings feature state-of-the-art modular research and teaching labs that are specially designed to encourage undergraduate students to gain hands-on experience working on research with faculty mentors. Here you'll find many of the departments in our College of Science and Health, including popular majors as such as biology, biotechnology, chemistry, computer science, environmental science, mathematics, and pre-medicine. The building is also home to the psychology and anthropology departments, which are part of the College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences.

Ben Shahn Center for Visual Arts

Ben Shahn Center for the Visual Arts is one of two major art buildings on campus, housing art classes in graphic design, computer graphics, and computer animation, among others. Ben Shahn Center is also home to the University Galleries, which are professionally managed exhibition spaces that feature the work of national and regional artists, as well as faculty and students. Also located in Ben Shahn is the University's Center for Chinese Art, which cultivates an understanding of Chinese culture and art. University Athletics Department offices are located on the ground floor.

Hamilton Hall (Communications)

Home to the Communication Department, Hamilton Hall features industry-standard facilities, including professional TV studios, film production and screening rooms, a Social Media Lab, as well as audio production, film, and video editing rooms. Our TV station, WPBN, offers opportunities for communication students to produce, write, direct, and broadcast programs ranging from news, sketch comedy, and sports to entertainment and talk shows. A broadcast news van gives students experience broadcasting remotely from special events on campus. Our award-winning student-run radio station, WP 88.7 Brave New Radio, serves more than two million listeners in North Jersey and is accessible worldwide via webstream.

Shea Center for Performing Arts

Shea Center for Performing Arts houses our Department of Music, which is well known for its outstanding degree programs in music, including classical performance, jazz studies and performance, popular music studies, music education, music management, and sound engineering arts. Shea Center also features a 922-seat auditorium that is used for large campus and community events, including our Distinguished Lecturer Series, Jazz Room Series, as well as a wide array of other musical and theatrical performances.

1600 Valley Road is an advanced facility housing the Cotsakos College of Business, the College of Education, and the School of Continuing and Professional Education. The Cotsakos College of Business is one of an elite group of business schools to achieve accreditation from AACSB International–The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business. For business students, 1600 Valley Road offers sophisticated technology including the Financial Learning Center, a simulated trading room that brings the world's financial markets to campus, as well as the Russ Berrie Professional Sales Laboratory where business students hone their sales presentation skills.

College of Education

Based in our Valley Road buildings, the College of Education gives students access to specialized facilities for teaching and learning, including an assistive technology classroom equipped with the latest tools to provide curriculum access to persons with disabilities. Education classrooms also feature smart boards and technology labs. Our new Child Development Center, located at 1800 Valley Road, serves ages two and a half through kindergarten, including children of faculty, staff and students, as well as local residents. The Center provides hands-on experience to College of Education students seeking certification as preschool through grade 3 teachers.

David and Lorraine Cheng Library

Our David and Lorraine Cheng Library offers a variety of resources and services for students both in person and online. The first floor contains our media services area as well as the curriculum materials section, which is widely used by our education students. The first level also includes our InterLibrary Loan Program, so if you don't see a book in our catalog, we'll use our local, national, and international affiliations to get it for you. The second floor contains our circulating fiction and non-fiction as well as private and group study rooms, all equipped with white board and media hook-ups.
