Herman Hall (College of Arts and Sciences)

Here we have Herman Hall, which is named for our third president, Beaumont Herman. This is where you'll find the College of Arts and Sciences, classrooms, computer labs, faculty offices, and our art studio. All Western New England students take core courses in liberal arts to help develop critical thinking and strong communication skills, many of which take place in Herman. With a culture of support in mind, you'll have access to free tutoring here in the Writing or Math Centers. Western New England also has a great reputation for assisting students who seek accommodations for physical or learning differences and the Office of Student Accessibility Services is easily accessed on the first floor.

The Rock

This is The Rock, which is part of a long-standing tradition. Originally brought to campus in 1968 as a school prank by members of the graduating class, it is now a school icon and used to advertise popular campus events. Students paint the Rock with event information to keep you in the know about what's happening. It's like your own campus calendar!

University Commons

We have now arrived at the newest building on campus—our incredible four-story University Commons! Not only does it house a variety of delicious food options, but the University Commons is also the go-to social destination on campus. The first floor features the Starbucks Bakery Café, Spirit's Subs and Sandwiches, burgers and fries, and the Food Court Market for quick and easy meal choices. The second and third floors are the main dining halls, with food prepared by Western New England Dining daily. You'll have plenty of options, from brick oven pizza and pasta to a salad bar and deli, as well as home cooking and international cuisine. The fourth floor includes meeting spaces, the University Trustees' Room, and a rooftop terrace for special events. Whether you come to eat or simply relax, the University Commons has the fuel you need to ace your exam, score at the big game, and take on the day.

D'Amour Library

D'Amour is more than just a library. It is a place for you to work individually, in study groups, or on team projects. The library includes a wide variety of research materials, books, magazines, and digital resources, and offers online access to databases. If you can't find a book at the library, no problem! We have an interlibrary loan with other institutions in the area. The library also includes a comprehensive TV studio and control room, Digital Learning Center, and the Business Analytics Center, which provides state-of-the-art SAP management software technology for business students.

Named for our first president, Churchill Hall is home to the College of Business. With an emphasis on entrepreneurship, the business program provides our students with an education that is international, collaborative, and experiential, and takes students from the classroom to their careers. Churchill Hall offers classrooms, computer labs, and the Frances and Norman Cohen Trading Room and Financial Center, which provides students with access to cutting-edge industry trading tools. This is also the site of our Polling Institute, which conducts research on issues in Massachusetts.

Center for Sciences and Pharmacy

The Center for the Sciences and Pharmacy is the hub of life sciences programs, from biology to neuroscience. The CSP has the latest in classroom and lab technology, from our forensic biology lab to observation labs in the Department of Psychology. This is also the home of the College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, which includes a variety of labs, classrooms, and simulation facilities. Also in the CSP you'll find the Center for Health & Wellness, which is one of the most comprehensive facilities of its kind in the region and offers both medical services and educational programs to promote a healthy community. This serves as the on-campus "doctor's office" or urgent care center and is staffed by board-certified nurse practitioners and physician assistants. The Center for Health and Wellness also addresses mental health through Counseling Services, which makes connecting with a licensed counselor easy for students.

We are now standing in the Quad. The Quad may be your "home away from home" in your first year. Berkshire, Franklin, and Hampden Halls are always buzzing with activity—from a pick-up whiffle ball game on the lawn to University-sponsored activities at night. Rooms in the quad halls house two students and include air conditioning and a microfridge. The Quad buildings are coed, but males and females live on separate floors. The best way to get to know other students is in the lounge, which is the social hub of the building. It features a television, kitchenette, and recreational equipment. The Quad is simply the place to be. Residence Life recognizes the need to support students of all gender identities and expressions in the residence halls. Students who identify as transgender, nonbinary, gender non-conforming, or beyond the binary in any way are encouraged to contact us so that we may work with them to ensure their housing supports and reflects their gender identity and expression. For students interested in living with friends of a different gender identity or expression, we offer Gender Inclusive Housing for all students. The Caprio Alumni Healthful Living Center is more than just a home court for varsity sports. It's a space to work out, unwind, and meet new friends. It's a great place to get a head start on fitness habits that will last a lifetime. Here you'll find an indoor pool and track; fitness center and functional training weight rooms; racquetball and squash courts; aerobic room; and practice courts. Not to mention our 2,000-seat basketball and volleyball court, where you'll cheer on the Golden Bears in the student section, "The Cave."

Whether you're a student-athlete or a fan in the stands, Golden Bear Stadium will bring out your blue and gold pride. This lighted, multipurpose, turf field is part of the outdoor sports complex. It is used by the school's varsity field hockey, football, and men's and women's lacrosse teams, as well as the school's intramural program. The stadium is located adjacent to the George Trelease Memorial Baseball Park, Golden Bear Softball Park, tennis courts, soccer field, and the Golden Bear Pavilion. The Pavilion features varsity locker rooms, a training facility, and a concession stand.

Welcome to Evergreen Village—one of the most popular places on campus for upper class students to live. The spacious, two-story townhouses house six students each. You'll be able to experience independent living firsthand with a full kitchen, living room, and two bathrooms. The centrally located Evergreen Commons is the perfect recreational space for residents to socialize, work, and do laundry for free. Southwood Hall is a great choice for juniors and seniors with its corridor-style apartments for four students. Each apartment consists of either two double bedrooms or four single occupancy bedrooms, as well as a bathroom, kitchen, and living room. Located adjacent to the athletic fields, it's a great option for both varsity athletes and fans.

Commonwealth Hall is known for its spacious front lawn and unique layout that is ideal for building community. On sunny days, students gather on the lawn to play games, socialize, and enjoy our picture-perfect campus. We've arrived at the Blake Law Center. If you are interested in a law career, consider our accelerated programs that lead directly from a bachelor's to a law degree at our School of Law right on campus. The Blake Law Center offers modern stadium-style classrooms, an extensive legal library, a moot courtroom, and its own café. The Law Center hosts open lectures on a wide range of topics as well as houses the Legislative Institute and centers for innovation and entrepreneurship, gender studies, and international law. The Blake Law Center recently added three newly constructed laboratories to house the Doctor in Occupational Therapy program, which includes academic technology that reflects realistic environments for health care education and practice.

Sleith Hall is where future engineers in the College of Engineering get their start. With a motto of "Innovation and Entrepreneurship from Day 1," students are taught to think like an engineer starting in their very first class, immersed in laboratory work and design projects, and challenged to solve real-world problems. With over 30 labs that include a biomedical hospital suite, machine lab, and the Kitrosser Innovation Studio just for first year students, every engineering major has its own dedicated space to explore, learn, and grow. Also in Sleith Hall is the Lyman and Leslie Wood Auditorium, which hosts campus speakers, events, and our on-campus theatre group, The Stageless Players.
