Welcome to the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, the world's first collegiate business school! I'm Halley, and I'll be one of your tour guides today. Before I tell you more about Huntsman Hall, let me explain how you can explore our campus. We're here at the University of Pennsylvania, centrally located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, one of the largest and most commercially significant metropolitan areas in the United States. Situated among other renowned institutions and centrally located in revolutionary Philadelphia, Penn's lush green campus is situated in a neighborhood called University City, a short distance from Philly's bustling business and cultural districts. In fact, you can spot the skyline from many points on campus, including right here. This big red building is the School's famous Huntsman Hall, a hotspot of activity for all Wharton students, faculty, and alumni. Let's head inside!

This is the heart of Huntsman Hall, known as the Baker Forum. The 4,000 square-foot forum is the largest single gathering space in the building and hosts major events like New Student Orientation. It's also a popular study and meeting spot for students. Made possible through the generous support of U.S. Ambassador and business mogul John Huntsman, the building itself is inspired by state-of-the-art corporate spaces and hosts everything from lectures to full-fledged conferences. Student and faculty research events regularly fill the 200-person-capacity Colloquium, found on the sunny top floor of Huntsman. The cafés, computer labs, group study rooms, and open common areas found throughout the building promote and provide collaboration and community for the entire Wharton family.

Outside the second floor of Huntsman Hall is the Koo Family Plaza, an elevated lawn where students gather to study, have lunch, or attend social events. Connected to the café patio, the plaza features glass pyramids that serve as skylights, filling the Baker Forum below with natural light.

Most Wharton classes are held in classrooms like this one. The design allows for the professor to have a line of sight to each student in the room to create a dynamic learning environment. Every classroom is outfitted with in-room cameras for seamless video-conferencing and recording.

The Steinberg Conference Center hosts our renowned suite of educational programming for working professionals. For learners in our Executive Education Program and MBA for Executives Program, the Center combines cutting-edge learning facilities with a full-service hotel, featuring private rooms, fine dining, a fitness center, and a lounge. The on-campus hospitality allows for our students in these programs to spend more time learning, collaborating with classmates, and engaging with professors.

The peaceful Leonard M. Tannenbaum Quad is framed by several Wharton buildings. Vance Hall contains many administrative and program offices, including MBA Admissions and the MBA for Executives Program office. Vance also includes a specialized classroom designed for group work. The Lauder Institute houses the first joint-degree program in the U.S. to integrate an MBA with an Arts & Sciences degree. Lauder students work toward an MBA and a Master's in International Studies, learning about global business, culture, and politics. It's one of several joint-degree programs that Wharton offers.

Also known as a community hub for Wharton's Undergrad student population, the School's Academic Research Building brings innovative teaching and research activities in data and analytics under one roof. Four floors of academic and research space include classrooms, group study rooms, research centers, and shared conference rooms.

The Lauder Institute houses the first joint-degree program in the U.S. to integrate an MBA with an Arts & Sciences degree. At Lauder, students embark on a journey through this unique MA program that delves into international economics, politics, anthropology, language and more, gaining a comprehensive understanding of global dynamics. Beyond the classroom, immersive experiences deepen this knowledge, allowing students to apply their learning hands-on in regions of their interest.

Welcome to Steinberg-Dietrich Hall, which, like Wharton's Huntsman Hall, is centrally located on Locust Walk in the heart of Penn's campus. In addition to even more state-of-the-art classrooms and learning spaces, Steinberg-Dietrich houses the School's administrative offices and is a cornerstone of Wharton's growth and innovation, blending historical legacy with modern functionality. In response to the burgeoning needs of Wharton's expanding programs, the hall underwent a transformative renovation in 1983 that preserved the integrity of its original design while enhancing its capacity and capabilities. To this day, it remains a testament to the generosity of its benefactors, honoring the contributions of D. Wellington Dietrich and Saul Steinberg, both esteemed Wharton alumni.

Welcome to the iconic Locust Walk, a vibrant artery that spans the heart of the University of Pennsylvania. For Wharton students, Locust Walk is more than just a pedestrian thoroughfare that takes them from class-to-class. It's truly a bustling hub of community here at Penn. Lined with historic architecture, shaded by towering trees, Locust Walk is where students gather between classes, engage in lively discussions, and forge lifelong friendships. Dotted by inviting cafes and study spots, Locust Walk is also flanked by picturesque green spaces and plenty of backdrops for social-ready photo opportunities. It is designed to create an inviting environment for both relaxation and academic pursuits. As you explore Locust Walk, you'll sense the pulse of campus life. From orientation events to club activities and spontaneous conversations, this pathway embodies the rich tradition of learning and golden-memory-making that continues to define both the Wharton and Penn community experience.

With rolling green hills, tree-lined walkways, and a charming collection of public art, College Green is a favorite spot for study breaks at the center of Penn's campus. It's an ideal outdoor space for all types of parties, concerts, and celebrations — including Graduation, when students process down Locust Walk and through the Green in their caps and gowns. Nearby is a bronze statue of Penn's founder, Benjamin Franklin, that dates back to 1899. Legend has it that when Franklin sat down, his vest button popped off and rolled across Locust Walk. It eventually stopped and split into two, becoming the giant Split Button sculpture.

Tangen Hall is home to Venture Lab, where students across Penn's 12 schools turn ideas into outcomes. It is a dedicated space for cross-campus student entrepreneurship and innovation. The seven-story, 68,000-square-foot building is one of the largest hubs of its kind on any college campus, featuring incubator spaces to pilot student-led ventures, a virtual reality environment, and a test kitchen for food-centric startups. Here, you can find the master's level Integrated Product Design Program jointly operated by Wharton, the School of Engineering and Applied Science, and the Stuart Weitzman School of Design. Three prominent research centers live here – Baker Retailing, Stevens Center for Innovation in Finance and Harris Alternative Investment Program.

Aside from green spaces like this and the recreational Schuylkill River Trail, Philadelphia's distinctive blend of American history and modern culture includes many highlights, such as the Liberty Bell and Independence Hall, THE Philadelphia Museum of Art, the world-class Philadelphia Orchestra, and America's oldest zoo. As the fifth largest city in the United States and one of America's largest media markets, Philadelphia remains a cosmopolitan metro that's centrally located at the heart of the Mid-Atlantic region. The city is a major American hub for the arts, culture, and business development; and not to mention, a great place for foodies, featuring everything from street fare to fine dining. The international airport is easily accessible, and New York City and Washington D.C. are just a train ride away.

Now we're almost 3,000 miles from the main campus at Wharton's home base in San Francisco. As you can see, Wharton San Francisco's Dining Hall offers spectacular views of the Bay and, in addition to learning, is a place for networking among alumni, students, and faculty on the West Coast. San Francisco cohort members of the School's MBA for Executives Program and global professionals who participate in Executive Education programs also learn at this location, and full-time MBA students have the opportunity to spend a semester here. Alumni in the Bay Area stay connected to Wharton with an array of year-round programming and events.
