Vermont State prepares students to lead sustainability initiatives in their fields and in their communities. Students in our Renewable Energy program, for example, gain hands-on experience designing and building renewable energy sources like solar, wind, water, and geothermal heat. Architectural Engineering Technology students, for instance, learn how to evaluate energy use and design energy-efficient buildings. In both, students are building practical skills that address climate change and sustainability. The campus, too, is designed for sustainability, with a 550kW solar array field producing as much energy as the campus consumes, returning that power to the grid.
