At the heart of campus, the Markee Pioneer Student Center offers dining, entertainment, study spaces and so much more. The student center is also home to the Pioneer Involvement Center where you can find clubs, student organizations, and community volunteer opportunities to explore your interests and make life-long friends. Whether you're an engineer who wants to be in the band or an art student who likes to tinker with robots, there are plenty of ways to get involved in the Pioneer community. It's also near several academic buildings, making it a great spot to relax after class.
Financial Aid & Resources

We pride ourselves on making education affordable and providing a strong return on investment for all of our students. Our Financial Aid and Cashier's Offices are found in Pioneer Tower, and our staff can help you with applying for financial aid resources to help fund your education. UW-Platteville offers scholarships designed for new freshman, transfer students, and more. There are hundreds of opportunities available, and we make it easy to apply using our scholarship application system. We also help you lower costs with the Textbook Rental Center in Doudna Hall. If you're interested in working on campus, we have more than 1,500 available student jobs.
Dining Services

With eight different dining locations on campus, you won't have to go far to enjoy a great meal. There are buffet style, market and hibachi grill, and coffee shop style options, and you can choose a variety of meal plans. Every location on campus has gluten-free, vegetarian and vegan choices available at every meal. All students have access to a registered dietitian to discuss special dietary needs and answer questions about nutrition. And for those interested in learning where their food comes from, we source several of our ingredients from our own hydroponics lab, gardens, and greenhouses. We even produce and sell our own ice cream.

Living on campus is an affordable way to be part of our close-knit Pioneer community, make friends, connect with classmates, and make the most of your college experience. With 10 halls to choose from, including traditional halls or suite layouts like those found in our popular Bridgeway Hall, you're sure to find the right fit. You may also apply to live in one of our Living Learning and Interest Communities, where you can be immersed in the topics you love with people who share your interests. No matter what hall you choose, you'll be a short distance from your classes, dining, activity centers, and health and wellness services.

With one of the top engineering programs in the Midwest, UW-Platteville is leading the way for engineering and other STEM programs like data science and cybersecurity. Our campus has state-of-the-art facilities like our new Sesquicentennial Hall, which is home to many of our STEM courses. You will learn by using innovative equipment and technology to experiment, design, and collaborate. For example, our Senior Design course pairs a group of students with an industry partner to solve real problems or create new products. Sesquicentennial Hall also includes the new Huff Family Innovation Center, a makerspace available to students from any major across the campus.

Home to one of only three Dairy Innovation Hubs in the state, UW-Platteville has earned a reputation as a leading agriculture college in Wisconsin. Located seven miles from the main campus, our 430-acre farm grants you in-depth experience in the management of animals and crops for food, feed, fiber, and fuel, as well as the business side of the industry. Facilities include a dairy, swine, and feed centers as well as a mechanic shop and technology center. The state-of-the-art Boebel Hall has instructional labs, like the Microbiology Lab and our new Cadaver Lab. Starting in your first year, you’ll be taking substantial business coursework in programs designed to be efficiently completed in four years, saving you time and money. The construction management, construction safety management, and industrial technology programs will train you to meet today’s challenges and tomorrow’s opportunities. You’ll blend knowledge of science and technology, and learn the technical, problem-solving, and managerial skills companies seek. You’ll learn from faculty and industry professionals in our hands-on laboratories that which include the Robotics and Controls Lab, Infrastructure Lab, Hands-On Safety Lab, and the Hands-On Construction Lab. The Hands-On Safety Lab, shown here, provides students with the experience of using different safety equipment, such as fall protection, rigging, fire, and hazard suits, and the opportunity to feel what it is like in a confined space.

If you're interested in the environmental sciences and natural sciences, there is no better classroom than our beautiful campus in the Driftless Region, which is a unique geographical area. Our campus is a living laboratory with beehives, native plantings, edible gardens, restored prairies, an oak savanna,* and transformative learning spaces. You can do research in our TREES Lab and do hands-on learning in Memorial Park, where you can learn about native prairie, savanna ecosystems, and stream ecology. If your dream is to pursue a career in conservation, environmental science, or ecology, UW-Platteville will put you on the right path.

The arts connect all areas of our campus, whether you are a student majoring in music, theatre, or art, or you want to participate by joining a club or taking in a performance as an audience member. The Center for the Arts hosts many choral and band concerts, as well as six university theatre productions per season and national touring acts year-round. The nearby Art Building complements this with dedicated workshops for painting, sculpture, fiber, and pottery, and you'll find several other galleries and performance spaces around campus. Most importantly, students of any major can take part in these activities, giving you a new outlet for creative expression.

We offer services that help you grow as an individual through physical, mental, and emotional wellness. Housed in Royce Hall, our Student Health and University Counseling Services work collaboratively to address a wide range of issues students may face at little to no extra cost. You can also get active or just relax in our outdoor spaces across campus. We have trails for walking and cycling, a disc golf course, and plenty of green spaces where you can study or hang out with friends. You can even rent outdoor equipment on campus, including canoes, kayaks, and snowshoes.

At UW-Platteville, we champion an equitable university that is inclusive and representative of our diverse communities through on-campus programs such as our Office of Multicultural Student Affairs, located in Warner Hall. The Office of Multicultural Student Affairs is designed to support retention and academic attainment for African-American, Native American, Latinx, and Asian-American students, and provides a welcoming environment for all students on campus. The office offers access to student advising and academic resources, and hosts social events, such as Fresh Cutz, which brings barbers to campus for free haircuts, and cultural celebrations, educational lectures, and more, throughout the year.

Cheer on the Pioneers year-round as we compete in NCAA Division III Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Varsity athletics. Our men and women's teams have earned national recognition and All-American honors in everything from track and field, to wrestling, volleyball, football, and basketball. Plus, we offer club sports and intramural programs so all students can get out and get active. You can also focus on your health and wellness with our state-of-the art Pioneer Activity Center, which includes an indoor pool, walking and running tracks, wooden courts, and weightlifting facility. You can also choose from a variety of classes like Zumba, spin, and more.

We foster a campus community where all students can feel included. The Patricia A. Doyle Center for Gender and Sexuality pictured here empowers LGBTQ+ students to get involved with the campus and Platteville community, and educates the campus and Platteville community on the unique and diverse issues surrounding sexuality and gender. The Doyle Center offers educational resources and hosts events throughout the year. It also provides educational trainings to our staff, faculty, students, and administration. This is just one of the many on-campus programs designed to help foster an inclusive campus community.
