Welcome to Utah Valley University, or UVU, the beehive state's second-largest publicly funded university. Located in the tranquil town of Orem, UVU is a 45-minute drive from downtown Salt Lake City, 20 minutes from skiing and snowboarding, 15 minutes from boating in Utah Lake, and just a day trip to the beautiful Rocky Mountains and sand dunes. UVU is situated on an open and grassy 308-acre campus, lined with trees and fountains. The university offers a number of academic paths to its students, including dozens of bachelor and associate degrees, certificates in trades education, and several acclaimed masters programs. Computer Science & Engineering Building

UVU's Computer Science & Engineering Building is one of the university's most visible structures, towering over the campus at six stories high. Students in the Science, Engineering and Technology & Computing Departments come here often to take classes, and work in the modern computer labs. The university's television programming and student video projects also take shape in this building's audio visual studios.

Browning Administration

The Browning Administration Building is located in the heart of the UVU campus, and is home to a number of key university offices. Students come here to seek hands-on help regarding registration, financial aid, career services, and student employment and internship assistance. As a prospective student, you can come to the Browning Administration Building to receive informational materials about the campus, initiate a guided tour, or learn about transitioning into college life in the Orientation Office.

Pope Science

Completed in 2012, The Pope Science Building is a brand new three-story structure made from glass and stainless steel. This sleek and modern building features 12 classrooms and 27 laboratories to accommodate classes such as biology, anatomy, physics, and earth science. Students in this department can supplement their learning experience with access to the building's organic chemistry lab, planetarium, and 400-seat auditorium-style lecture and presentation space.

Losee Center

The Losee Center is a freshly renovated 4-story building on the northeast end of campus. UVU students can come here to utilize the building's conference rooms and hosting area, or just to enjoy a snack in the Losee Cafe or upstairs common area. The Losee Center is also home to the university's Communications Department, Honors Program, Volunteer and Service-Learning Center, Grants Office, and Academic Counseling Department.

Quad

The UVU Quad is one of the campus's most tranquil and inviting places to relax, study, or meet a friend. The open grassy area is set against the backdrop of a bubbling waterfall-style fountain, and spotted with trees, benches, and tiered landscape seating. Not only do students come here to unwind in the sunshine, but also to catch the occasional open-air performance or club meeting.

Sorensen Student Center

Named after one of UVU's founders, Wilson W. Sorensen, the Sorensen Student Center embodies the spirit and energy of the university. Here you will find a number of daily necessities, in places including the campus bookstore, post office, food court, ice cream parlor, and housing services. The building's second floor is home to a small theatre, an open computer lab, student government, and the university newspaper and broadcast departments.

Sparks Automotive

Located on the northeast end of campus, The Sparks Automotive Building provides UVU students with an opportunity to have hands-on learning experiences for a number of skilled trades. The building hosts classes and shop-style workstations to educate students in such fields as diesel mechanics technology and welding. Students enjoy the option to learn very specific and applicable skills for the workforce, not to mention the chance to mix their higher-learning experience with a little bit of elbow grease!

Woodbury Business

The Woodbury Business building is home to the UVU's dynamic and innovative business school, which prides itself on community engagement, integrative learning, and progressive teaching methods. Students have access to the building's multiple computer labs, which feature over 130 workstations for research, class demonstrations, and open lab practices. The Woodbury Business Building also houses the university's Multicultural Center, Study Abroad Office, International Institute, Evening and Weekend College, Police Academy, and ROTC.
