Welcome to the University of Southern Maine (USM) - Portland Campus. Located in the heart of Maine's largest city, Portland is a lively, livable community on beautiful Casco Bay. The Portland campus is part of an urban hotspot, nationally known for its arts and culture, outdoor recreation — and amazing food.

The McGoldrick Student Success Center is the vibrant hub of campus life on the Portland Campus. Convinently located in the center of campus this building is home to the McGoldrick Dining hall, University store, Career and Employment Hub, Intercultural Student Center, and Commuter Lounge.

The Science Building is home to state-of-the art laboratory facilities and academic offices. Three unique laboratories include the Makers Innovation Studio, the Quality Control Lab, as well as the Nursing Simulation Lab. The Makers Innovation Studio is a place for students from all disciplines to pursue their own creative and entrepreneurial ideas. The Quality Control Collabortory or "QC2" Lab is a partnership with the Maine Brewer's Guild to provide testing, research and education to Maine breweries, and provide students with a hands on educational experience. Our State of the Art Nursing Simulation lab provides our students the best hands-on opportunities while working in a controlled learning environment.

"Luther Bonney" Hall is a one-stop-shop for student services with Advising, Student Financial Services, Registration and Scheduling Services, and the Prior Learning Assessment Office. In addition to student services and academic departments, you can also find computer labs, convenient study spaces, and the Luther Bonney Cafe for a quick snack or a cup of coffee.

With a beautiful atrium and 500 seat Hannaford Lecture Hall, the "Abromson" Community Center is a great location for the Office of Admissions and serves as a frequent event space for both the university and the community. Each year Abromson hosts the Thinking Matters symposium which reflects student and faculty collaborations across the university and beyond resulting in high quality student-faculty research.

Wishcamper Center houses The Muskie School of Public Service, Maine's distinguished public policy school, combining extensive applied research and technical assistance portfolio with rigorous undergraduate and graduate degree programs including Policy, Planning, and Management (MPPM) and Public Health (MPH). The school is nationally recognized for applying innovative knowledge to critical issues in these fields. The Muskie School is also home to the Cutler Institute for Health and Social Policy which collaborates on research with partners such as the National Child Welfare Workforce Institute, New England Environmental Finance Center, Maine Rural Health Research Center and many more across the world to find sustainable practical solutions to critical societal issues.

Glickman Library offers 7 floors of group study space, academic resources, and research assistance. In addition to all in-person services, students are able to access hundreds of online databases from anywhere they choose to work or study. On the main floor, the Osher Map Library is committed to preserving the cartographic heritage of the state, region, and nation for future generations, and to make those historic and academic resources dating back to 1475 accessible to the University, the people of Maine, and to all other students, scholars, and visitors. It shares its collection of over 75,000 items through exhibitions and collaborative efforts with other cultural institutions.

Welcome to Portland Commons, a vibrant and inclusive residential community designed for our upperclassman students. With 580 beds, Portland Commons offers a variety of living options, including single-occupancy rooms, studio apartments, and larger apartments with multiple bedrooms and bathrooms.
