With over 112 years of history in the heart of Los Angeles, USC continues to attract students and scholars from over 75 countries to for advanced studies in engineering and computer science. Tutor Campus Center

On a typical day at USC, Tutor Campus Center is bustling with students and professors. Spread over 150,000 square feet, it houses the Admission Center, Alumni Center, multipurpose areas for meetings and gatherings, and a wide variety of dining options. The center is also home to a Grand Ballroom with seating for over 1,000 people. Tutor Campus Center serves as a favorite hangout spot for students, and houses the upscale Moreton Fig restaurant, named for its historic Moreton Bay Fig tree on the patio.

Doheny Memorial Library

Since it opened in 1932, Doheny Memorial Library has served as a treasure house of knowledge and culture for generations of students, faculty and staff. In addition to housing over 790,000 books, the library offers spaces for studying, collaborative work and special events. Located in the center of the campus, Doheny has impressive architectural features such as marble pillars and a stained-glass study room known as the "Intellectual Commons". Given the beautiful Romanesque architecture, the library has also featured in a short sequence in the 1967 Mike Nichols' movie The Graduate. Adjacent to Doheny is a small but beautiful tea house, LiteraTea, frequented by booklovers.

McCarthy Quad

A broad green expanse serving as the hub of student life, McCarthy Quad is located between Doheny Memorial Library and Leavey Library. The quad is surrounded by residence halls and suites along with the residential colleges which house first year students and faculty in residence. The north side of McCarthy Quad has a beautiful reflective pool with a backdrop of the majestic Leavey Library. With open inviting space and lush greens, it is not uncommon to see grand weddings hosted here. Moreover, the Quad hosts a bustling farmer market every Wednesday during the school year.

USC Village

Opened in 2017 and touted as one of the biggest developments in the history of south Los Angeles, USC Village is the next-level of residential living for students complemented by retail and dining outlets. Spread across 15 acres, USC village provides housing for 2,500 students across its six buildings which boast of multi-purpose rooms, group study rooms, individual study rooms, outdoor areas, a gym, a media room and a dining hall. It took over 100,000 cubic yards of concrete to build the village – this is enough to build a walkway from Los Angeles to San Francisco!

Uytengsu Aquatics Center

For fitness fanatics and those looking to unwind after a grinding day, Lyon Center is a fitness center on the University Park campus for students, faculty, staff, alumni, and guests. Apart from a gym, exercise studios, courts, etc., one of the most notable features of Lyon Center is the 2,500-seat outdoor aquatics venue -- Uytengsu Aquatics Center – featuring two swimming pools. It is the home pool for the USC Trojans swimming and diving teams. The aquatic center is not only frequented by students, staff and alumni but has also hosted several high-level national meets since 1984.

Michelson Center for Convergent Bioscience

The USC Michelson Center for Convergent Bioscience is a space created to foster the intersection of researchers and engineers across disciplines on the USC campus – from the USC Dornsife College of Letters, Arts and Sciences, USC Viterbi School of Engineering and the Keck School of Medicine of USC. These interdisciplinary teams work together to fast-track detection and cure of diseases by turning biological sciences into a quantitative and predictive science. The Michelson Center is poised to become a hub of scientic breakthroughs in the biological sciences and solve medical challenges.

Environmental Engineering Water Laboratory

In the Water Laboratory, the Environmental Engineering faculty and students conduct fundamental research on physico-chemical and biological processes, and develop and fabricate systems for low-energy wastewater reclamation and desalination. The lab is equipped for water quality analysis, wet chemistry, molecular biology, and membrane development and testing. The lab's Agilent 6560 Ion Mobility Q-TOF LCMS is the first of its kind in any environmental lab in the U.S.

Dryden Wind Tunnel

The Dryden Wind Tunnel gives the Aerospace & Mechanical Engineering department a capacity that is rivalled by very few facilities in North America. It is an outstanding wind tunnel for conducting measurements at low Reynolds numbers. One of the more vigorous research areas in aeronautics is in various aspects of small-scale, unmanned air vehicles, now uniformly termed drones.

Center for Advanced Manufacturing

Ronald Tutor Hall

Nestled on the southwest side of the campus, Ronald Tutor Hall is a state-of-the-art research and educational complex that opened in 2005. The six-storied building houses undergraduate and graduate studies in information technology, bioengineering, and nanotechnology. Research labs and facilities within the complex offers the latest equipment and collaborative work areas for students and professors. The complex also fosters community with a spacious lounge on and a café.

Robotics Interaction Lab

The Interaction Lab focuses on developing computational principles and techniques to enable socially assistive human-robot interaction. The goal of Socially Assistive Robotics (SAR) is to improve user health and wellness, communication, learning, and autonomy. Professor Maja Matarić and her students conduct research in an interdisciplinary arena that uses computer science and engineering, as well as human studies evaluation, to assist in mitigating critical societal problems that require sustained personalized support to supplement the efforts of parents, caregivers, clinicians, and educators.

Electrical Engineering Ultra Lab

Opened in 1996, the Ultra-Wideband Radio Laboratory (UltRa Lab) focuses on the study of ultra-wideband radio technology. The lab houses infrastructures and facilities designed to test Ultra-wide band (UWB) and other radio systems. With the opening of the Paul G. Allen Wireless Test Facility -- an R.F. anechoic chamber -- in 2001, the lab strengthened its capabilities to conduct UWB studies.

Mudd Hall Hoose Library

A Tuscan style building, Mudd Hall of Philosophy has been featured in Los Angeles travel guides and numerous movies and television programs. Mudd Hall houses the Hoose Library, one of the finest philosophy Libraries in the world boasting of over 50,000 collections on academic philosophy and its allied disciplines. One prominent feature of Mudd Hall is the 146 feet clock tower which stands above the junction of the North and West wings. Adorned with ornate sculptures and mosaics, the building is one of the landmarks on the USC campus.
