Peterson Heritage Center (PHC)

Welcome to the University of Utah! We're so excited to take you on a virtual tour of our on-campus housing areas! Here we are at the hub of upper-campus living, the Peterson Heritage Center, or the "PHC" as our residents call it! Built in 2002 as a part of the Winter Olympic athlete village, the PHC is home to our upper campus dining hall, a 24-hour info desk, the Heritage Commons mailroom, and the Residence Hall Association! The PHC is a centralized resource for residents across campus. Whether you're stopping by to pick up mail or visit the dining hall, you'll find resources and staff members here to support you!

Our next stop is Sage Point! This community is comprised of five buildings located on upper campus, otherwise known as Heritage Commons. Sage Point is a residence hall-style community with single and double suites for first-year students. With living learning communities, or "LLCs", like arts and career exploration floors, this community is a great place to pursue your interests and make friends. Sage Point also features a 24-hour exercise facility for residents, plenty of outdoor green space, and excellent views of the *Wasatch* Mountain front.

Welcome to Gateway Heights, a suite-style residence hall community on upper campus for first-year students. Gateway Heights halls are single gender by building and offer several common area spaces for studying, socializing, and meeting new friends. Gateway is centrally located in Heritage Commons right next to the shuttle stop and the Peterson Heritage Center!

We've now arrived at Chapel Glen! Chapel Glen is a first-year residence hall community in Heritage Commons. This residence hall features suite-style rooms and offers several common area spaces for studying and socializing! Chapel Glen is close to the medical and health areas of campus and features several nearby outdoor spaces perfect for soaking up some sun, relaxing, and slacklining. Chapel Glen is also home to a 24-hour fitness area for residents of the community!

Here we are at our apartment-style communities— Benchmark Plaza and Shoreline Ridge! Benchmark Plaza and Shoreline Ridge are home to upper-division students in two, three, and four-bedroom apartments! Residents of these communities have fully-furnished private bedrooms and shared full-sized kitchens, bathrooms, and living spaces. Benchmark and Shoreline are close to our dining center, late-night pizza hub known as The Hive, student solar plaza, outdoor basketball and volleyball courts, and plenty of hiking trails.

Welcome to Officers Circle, otherwise known as "OC." Officers Circle is a unique community comprised of 10 individual historic houses, most with a different academic or themed focus. Each building houses 12 students making this location ideal for students looking for a close-knit community. Homes feature large study and lounge spaces, front porches, and kitchen areas. The OC houses surround the Officers Circle gazebo and are close to the Peterson Heritage Center, dining room, shuttle stop, and *Eccles* Legacy Bridge making access to all of campus easy and convenient.

Our next stop is the Marriott Honors Community, or MHC! This building features apartment living for approximately 300 honors students. Students in the MHC have access to the Thesis Mentoring Community, which prepares them for research opportunities and their Honors thesis. Faculty and staff with offices in the building also provide close-by support as students pursue their degrees. The MHC is conveniently located on lower-campus, making a quick stop to the gym or dining hall easy. The MHC apartments offer full-size kitchens, spacious common areas, and great views of campus and the *Wasatch* Mountains. The MHC also includes classroom spaces, a convenience store, and a cozy fireplace to study by!

*Lassonde* Studios is our next stop! Lassonde Studios opened in 2016 and is home to student entrepreneurs, innovators, and creators at The University of Utah. It's the place where students from any background or major can live, create, and launch. This building features unique living options for 400 residents including single and double rooms, loft-style apartments, and pods. Lassonde Studios also features a 20,000 square-foot innovation space, where all students are welcome to connect, test ideas, build prototypes, launch companies, and learn by doing. When students are taking a break from creating, they can take advantage of on-site dining at the Miller Café, play pool, or enjoy the second floor patio.

Welcome to *Kahlert* Village, home to over 990 first-year students! Located in the heart of campus, this building is made up of four themed communities including First-year Honors, STEM Initiatives, Health & Wellness, and Community Engagement. Each community is designed to help students deepen their engagement on campus. On the first-floor, students will find study spaces, music rooms, a meditation space, Equity Living Room, video-production studio, community service center and more! We can't forget to mention our full-service dining facility too, home to some of the best food on campus!
