Located in the Galbraith Building, the Engineering Welcome Centre is your first stop when visiting U of T Engineering. Meet with our Recruitment Officers to answer your questions about the application process. The Galbraith Building also houses many of the Faculty’s administrative and student support offices, including the admissions, registrar, and first year offices. Our tight-knit community thrives because success is a shared goal. You’ll find support among your fellow classmates, in your professors and teaching assistants, and in the staff members who facilitate a range of specialized services that address the unique needs of engineering students.

The Engineering Society Arena houses flexible facilities that meet the needs of the Faculty’s various student clubs, including our design teams. Design is at the heart of what engineers do. That passion trickles into many activities outside the classroom, resulting in canoes built from concrete and race cars powered by the sun. Many of our design teams participate in competitions worldwide. U of T Engineering fosters the perfect ecosystem to see your ideas come to life, whether you’re thinking about solving global issues, launching a new a business or establishing a new student club.

The Experiential Learning Commons, home to the Engineering Career Centre, is the flagship space on the St. George campus for student-oriented professional development activities. The Engineering Career Centre team runs a work-integrated learning program that connects engineering students with a wide range of industry opportunities. The Professional Experience Year Co-op Program is a degree-long program which allows students to enhance their technical competencies, strengthen their networks and build their professional experience before graduation. The Experiential Learning Commons also houses the Arts & Science Internship Program team and the Employer Relations Team from the Division of Student Life.

The Unit Operations Lab (Unit Ops) is one of the Facuty’s most dynamic laboratory spaces. Located in the Wallberg Building, the Unit Ops lab provides students with practical, hands-on experience on an industry-relevant scale. U of T Engineering is home to 120 research chairs and more than 25 multidisciplinary, leading edge research hubs that represent our six Innovation Clusters. These clusters combine advanced research efforts to address a vast range of social, economic, environmental, and industrial challenges. The breadth and depth of our research, combined with powerful partnerships and a strong culture of entrepreneurship, enable our researchers to develop advanced technology-based solutions that address the needs of an evolving global marketplace.

The Sandford Fleming Atrium, known more colloquially as “The Pit”, is the engineering student common space located in the basement of the Sandford Fleming Building. The Pit offers many features and services for U of T Engineering student community, such as the Engineering Society Office, the Lady Godiva Memorial *Bnad* Room, Engineering Stores, the Hard Hat Café, and more. The Pit serves as the unofficial centre of SkuleTM. Skule™ – spelled s-k-u-l-e – is the official name of the U of T Engineering community. The Skule™ community is comprised of more than 5000 undergraduate students, 3,000 graduate students, and more than 56,000 dedicated alumni around the globe.
