Wright Hall

David Sands Wright Hall was named in honor of the first math professor at UNI's predecessor, the Iowa State Normal School. The building has undergone many transformations since it opened its doors in 1917. Today, the Hall is primarily home the Departments of Mathematics. Since the Computer Science Department moved to the Innovative Teaching and Technology Center, it retained some labs here in the building, and several other departments utilize Wright Hall for classroom space.

Curris Business Building

Curris Business Building (or CBB) is where UNI's Business majors log plenty of hours. The building houses the College of Business Administration and the University's Business and Community Services programs. Here students and faculty have access to multimedia and computer classrooms, lecture halls, offices and computer labs. Business students can also borrow technology and media equipment here in the CBB.

The UNI Campanile was the result of more than a decade of student planning and fundraising. The cornerstone was laid in 1925, and construction was complete in 1926. With several renovations to the structure and carrion since then, the Campanile has transformed into a campus icon and central meeting place.

Maucker Union

Mauker Union is constantly pulsing with student activity. If you're not here to share a meal with your friends, you might be here to grab a quick coffee, a snack, or groceries for your dorm. You might also be here to pick up a gift, UNI gear or class supplies. In addition to housing several student organizations, Mauker is home to UNI's student newspaper and radio station, a fitness facility, and a computer center.

Rod Library

This is Rod Library, UNI's main reference facility. In addition to its print and digital collections, you'll find research computers on all four floors as well as tech-ready collaborative workstations on the second and third floors. The Library offers several options for studying from group study and multipurpose rooms to designated graduate study spaces and quiet areas. You can make copies on the first floor and take a listen to old music recordings on turntables or watch new DVD's on the fourth floor.

Sabin Hall

Sabin Hall is where you'll come for many of your Liberal Arts classes as well as the bulk of your classes in Social and Behavioral Sciences. The Center for Social & Behavioral Research, which has been conducting funded research on public health and other subjects since 1967, is also based here at Sabin Hall. The recently-renovated building has incorporated many sustainable features as part of its LEED certification, including a natural light lounge and renewable construction elements.

McCollum Science Hall

McCollum Science Hall is home to the students and award-winning faculty of UNI's Biology and Chemistry departments. A recent renovation introduced 64,000 additional square feet of cutting-edge lab, classroom and lecture space to the facility. In both programs, students are encouraged to participate in faculty-level research.

Innovative Teaching & Technology Center

The Innovative Teaching & Technology Center (or ITTC) is a multipurpose facility that serves as a site for classes, workshops and media production. The ITTC is headquarters for the departments of Computer Science and Geography, but you might also have a Social Sciences class or lab here as well. The Academic Learning Center on the main floor offers guidance with course work and planning, testing, and grad school applications, among other things. Students can also get support with software and email at The Computing Consulting Center.

Performing Arts Center

The 100,000-square-foot Gallagher-Bluedorn Performing Arts Center provides top-tier cultural programming for the University and Cedar Valley public. The Center houses two primary performance halls with state-of-the-art lighting and sound, each hosting music, dance, theater and comedy productions from groups across the globe and from the University departments. Great Hall was designed in the mold of the great European opera houses and seats up to 1,680. Davis Hall, the more intimate of the two, is used for smaller-scale performances and rehearsals.
