Welcome to Fayetteville State University! FSU is the second-oldest public institution in the prestigious University of North Carolina System. Founded in 1867, FSU offers nearly 60 degrees at the bachelor's, master's, and doctoral levels. With more than 6,300 students, Fayetteville State University is among the most diverse institutions in the nation.
The Rudolph Jones Student Center is the hub of student life. It features the Main Dining Hall that accommodates more than 550 people. It has 7 food stations with rotating menus. Other features of the student center include the Offices of the Student Government Association, Student Activities Council, and Student Engagement. It also features a multi-purpose room that seats 693 people in auditorium/lecture style, a game room, and a 100-seat theater. The Bronco Grill, the Bronco Corral, the Bronco Student Lounge, and Bronco Plaza offer areas for students to eat, socialize, hold meetings, or relax. The University Mail Center and the Career Services can also be found here.

Administration Building

The E.E. Smith Administrative Complex houses the Barber and Collins Administration Buildings. The upper level of the Barber Building is home to the Chancellor's Office, Vice Chancellor and Chief of Staff, the Division of Academic Affairs, Legal Affairs, and the Title IX office. Also in the Barber Building is the Division of Business and Finance and Human Resources.
The Collins Administration Building houses the Division of Student Affairs, the Internal Auditor, Admissions, and the University Testing Center.

The George L. Butler Building is home to the School of Education. The School of Education has maintained continued accreditation from the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education since 1954. In fact, the university began its proud history as a teacher's college. Our commitment is to prepare highly qualified teachers and other school personnel through the development, administration, supervision, and evaluation of the programs we offer. The School of Education is home to three departments: Educational Leadership; Elementary Education; and Middle Grades, Secondary, and Specialized Subjects. The Butler Building is also home to the Butler Little Theater and Cross Creek Early College High School, the state's top performing early college.

The Charles Waddell Chesnutt Library was named after Charles W. Chesnutt, the first successful African-American novelist and who became the third principal of the Howard School, known today as Fayetteville State University. A staff of qualified librarians, and support staff are available to assist library users. The building is a modern four leveled, contemporary structure, providing more than 70,000 square feet of space that is conducive for study and research. The library offers an array of traditional and innovative services in delivering the resources to you. Many of the resources are available 24 hours day from campus and off-campus sites. Also in the library is the J.C. Jones Board Room.
Southeastern North Carolina Nursing Education and Research Center

The Southeastern North Carolina Nursing Education and Research Center is home of the nationally ranked Department of Nursing. The department was established in 1992 to provide baccalaureate education to registered nurses through an RN to BSN completion program. The program holds membership in the American Association of Colleges of Nursing and is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education. FSU's Nursing Department has been ranked the No. 2 program in the Eastern Region and best among University of North Carolina System schools by NurseJournal.org. To determine the rankings, NurseJournal.org evaluated 1,189 nursing programs and selected 20 metrics, sorting them into five categories: quality, affordability, convenience, satisfaction, and value.

Renaissance Hall

Renaissance Hall is the newest residence hall on campus. Renaissance Hall houses up to 336 residents in double occupancy rooms. Located near the top of campus, students are a few steps away from the School of Business and Economics Building and the George L. Butler Building. Amenities include spacious rooms with carpet, a full size bed per resident, and a large 5x4 window per room for a marvelous view of our campus. Each room has a separate bathroom to share with one roommate.

Hackley Honors Hall is a suite-style co-ed residence hall that is home to the International Education and Global Scholars communities. Hackley Hall can accommodate up to 84 students per year, with suites consisting of four double occupancy rooms that share a common bathroom and living room. Students enjoy a balcony that oversees a large courtyard with seating that overlooks the gazebo located in the middle of our campus. This residence hall has two floors and two wings connected by an outside breezeway where students will find a homey common lobby, a laundry room on the second floor, administrative offices and a mini fitness room on the first floor.

Physical Education and Recreation Complex is home to the Felton J. Capel Arena, one of the finest Division II basketball arenas on any college campus. The arena seats 5,000 for basketball. It also has a dance studio, weight rooms for men and women's sports, and an Olympic-size swimming and diving pool.
Jeralds Stadium

Adjacent to the basketball arena is Luther "Nick" Jeralds Stadium, where the Broncos play football. The football field has a synthetic turf and seats 5,500. Stadium features include an LED display and scoreboard system that can capture fans rooting on our team or can show a spectacular play by one of our Broncos. Under the stadium are locker rooms for both the home and visiting teams, and coaches' offices.
Lilly Building

The Lilly Building is one of the busiest multi-purpose facilities on campus. On one side of the building, students can conduct most of their business transactions from this one location. The facility houses the Office of Financial Aid on the first floor, the Cashier's Office on the second floor, and the Registrar's Office on the third floor. On the other side of the building is Lilly Gymnasium where students can play a pickup game or watch intramural basketball.

The Lauretta Taylor Building is home of Air Force ROTC Detachment 607 at Fayetteville State University, University of North Carolina at Pembroke, Methodist University and Fayetteville Technical Community College. The Cadet Wing is composed cadets who are pursuing degrees in many different majors. The building also houses the Department of Social Work and the Department of Criminal Justice, two of the university's most popular academic programs.

The second of our early college high schools is Cumberland International and it can be found in the Knuckles Science Annex. The mission of Cumberland Early College is to prepare students to be independent thinkers, self-advocates, globally aware citizens by providing them with proficiency in a secondary language of strategic interest. The school provides global and cultural connections, relevant and authentic project-based instruction that engages students in global issues and college-level courses and experiences. Like its sister school, Cross Creek Early College, students can earn up to 60 college credits before they graduate.

FSU also has an Army ROTC program and it's located in the Taylor Social Science Building. The Bronco Company is part of the Campbell Battalion consisting of Campbell University, Methodist University (Monarch Company) and the University of North Carolina at Pembroke. We offer young men and women the opportunity to complete a degree program with the university while qualifying to serve the nation as a commissioned officer in the Active Army, Army Reserve, or Army National Guard. Also located in Taylor Social Science is the Department of Sociology.
University College

The University College is located in the Helen T. Chick Building. All students are part of the University College until they are admitted to a major degree program in the College of Arts and Sciences, the School of Business and Economics, or the School of Education. The University College provides assistance to students from the time they enter the university until they complete the University College Core Curriculum and fulfill all requirements for unconditional acceptance into a major degree program. The University College seeks to provide an academic environment that will enable and motivate students of varied background to achieve academic success.
Telecommunications

The Telecommunications Center is home of the Distance Learning Center. The Distance Learning Center provides opportunities to faculty, staff, students and external agencies in Southeastern North Carolina, to participate in interactive classes and teleconferencing via the North Carolina Information Highway and the North Carolina Research Education Network. Also located here is the Department of Communication, Language, and Cultures. For students interested in communication, our goal is to inspire high-level thinking, research, and creative work on the topic of human communication by employing effective instructional strategies and state-of-the-art technology. Emphasis of study may include courses in speech communication, mass communication, media production, and journalism.
Rosenthal Gallery

The Rosenthal Building features the Department of Performing and Fine Arts to include the concert choir, symphonic and marching bands, jazz ensemble, and other musical performance groups. It is also home to the Rosenthal Art Gallery. The purpose of the gallery is to contribute to the cultural and intellectual life of the citizens in Southeastern North Carolina through the presentation of exhibits, lectures, and workshops in the visual arts. Three to four special touring exhibits are mounted each year with visits by the artists for gallery openings and special lectures. FSU senior art students are also exhibited in the spring. All programs are free and open to the public.
Science Plaza

The Science Plaza consists of the Lyons Science Building, the Lyons Science Annex and the Science and Technology Building. Lyons Science his home of the electron microprobe, the Planetarium and The Reef. The Reef is one of the few places in Central North Carolina to experience a coral reef, and interact with reef organisms. The new 1400 square foot facility is home to two large reef aquariums where visitors learn how a coral reef grows, identify some of the reef organisms, and handle coral skeletons. The Science and Technology Building supports STEM learning and research, and additional laboratories for Chemistry, Forensics, Mathematics, Physics, and Computer Science.
University Quad

The University Quad is one of the most picturesque locations on campus. The features some of the university's oldest buildings to include Joyner Hall, the Cook Building, which houses the Information Technology Department; Smith Hall, the James Paige Alumni House, and Spaulding Health Services. The quad is the perfect place to relax on a beautiful spring day or it serves as the perfect location for a game of touch football.

Seabrook Auditorium is a premiere performing arts venue that seats 1,150 guests. It is used primarily as an educational and cultural resource for Fayetteville State University. Each year, the J.W. Seabrook Auditorium hosts choral concerts, operas, plays, and world-renowned speakers. With its new projectors, the auditorium can now host large meetings and presentations. Specifically, the Auditorium is made available for purposes that help enhance the mission of the university and are in the interest of the community.
