Welcome to the University of Kentucky! Our campus is home to 16 academic colleges and over 200 programs. Students attend UK from all 50 states and over 100 countries, and all 120 Kentucky counties. This is Patterson Plaza. Named for our first president, James Patterson. Gatton College of Business and Economics

This building houses the Gatton College of Business and Economics, ranking among the “Top 80 best business programs" nationally. With a 65 million-dollar renovation completed in 2016, it now holds a spacious auditorium, study rooms and a finance center with current Wall Street stock news. The heart of the building features a gorgeous atrium where students hang out, study and eat at local favorite Great Bagel, with an 80-foot sculpture suspended above. This college offers highly individualized academics, with an "8 to 1" student-to-faculty ratio and the Graham Office of Career Management which prepares students for the business world!

Engineering Complex

Ranked as the #1 College of Engineering in Kentucky, and among the top 100 engineering schools nationally, students get started early taking engineering classes and working on real engineering challenges during their first year. Next door, White Hall Classroom Building, home to many UK Core courses – UK's general education program, features theater-style classrooms on the first floor and smaller classrooms above. The average class size at UK is 33 students, and 85 percent of classes have fewer than 50 students. In the basement of White Hall, you’ll find the UK post office and Wildcat Wardrobe, a free service provided by Student Government that provides students with professional clothing.

The Don and Cathy Jacobs Science Building is a 112-million-dollar, 24-thousand square-foot facility that holds state-of-the-art laboratories, technology enabled active learning (or TEAL) classrooms and advanced lecture halls. Every science student on campus, and many undergraduates, will have the opportunity to learn and research in this cutting-edge academic hotspot. The beautiful atrium features indoor gardens and Freshii, a delicious cafe where students enjoy tasty, healthy meals and treats between classes. Kroger Field and the Barnhart Family Athletics Complex

Go Cats! We're always cheering for our Wildcats, no matter the sport! Students fill our athletics facilities anytime the Cats are playing! Ticket prices for students range from free to just $11 for either football or basketball games. At the center of it all is Kroger Field where the Cats play football. Redesigned and modernized from top to bottom in 2015, the stadium draws generations of loyal fans for fall game days affectionately known as "Caturdays." Adjacent is the state-of-the-art Kentucky Football Training Center which includes a statue honoring the four UK football players who broke the SEC color barrier. Barnhart Family Athletics Complex is located behind Kroger Field and is home to UK’s Men’s and Women’s Soccer, Softball and Baseball facilities. Lewis Honors/The 90/LLP

Opened in 2017, Lewis Hall is located in Central Campus and is home for the administrative offices and student support spaces for the Lewis Honors College. Lewis Hall is also part of the Honors Quad where students in the Community of Scholars can live and learn together. The 90 is the best place to meet up with your friends and grab a bite to eat. With six dining options, including the large Fresh Food Co., an all-you-care-to-eat facility with a worry-free zone that has vegan and gluten-free options available for every meal. And, you can never go wrong with the all-day breakfast and salad bars! Nestled in the heart of campus, the iconic William T. Young Library houses over 1 million volumes, an enormous book endowment that would stretch from Lexington to St. Louis if placed end-to-end. Featuring the largest Starbucks in Kentucky, Willy T is the perfect place to study or just grab coffee with friends, and can seat more than 4,000 people on its six floors. You'll want to visit the Writing Center for peer review of your essay assignments, presentation prep center called Presentation U! to calm any public-speaking nerves or the Media Depot for help with AV needs. Featuring some of the best national sorority and fraternity chapters, UK’s Greek community completes thousands of hours of community service annually, encourages scholarship, and fosters friendships. Involving approximately 25 percent of the student body, it is a great option for involvement on campus, but certainly not the only one! UK has more than 550 registered student organizations, from intramural sports to Student Government to a quidditch team! Getting involved in a student organization is the perfect way to make a home for yourself at UK, as you make friends and connect with your passions.

Gatton Student Center

The Gatton Student Center underwent a $201 million expansion and renovation and is the "living room" of our campus. It houses all the essentials including hang-out spaces, a two-story Barnes and Noble bookstore, the Visitor Center, Worsham Cinema (our campus movie theater) and tons of space for many of UK's student organizations. This building is also home to many student resources and support services such as the Dinkle-Mas Suite for LGBTQ Resources and the Martin Luther King Jr. Multicultural Center. The Student Center's popularity lead to further expansion of the space, and in 2021 even more student resources moved into the building such as our Disability Resource Center, the Violence Intervention and Prevention Center, Financial Wellness, Student Support Services, Off-Campus Student Services, First Generation Student Advising and an International Center. Many student's favorite dining locations including Auntie Anne's and Chick-fil-A are located in the Student Center. And there's no need to leave campus for entertainment after classes! Movies, comedy shows, open mic nights, pool tables and much more are now available to our students. And best of all? It's free.

The Cornerstone and Downtown Lexington

The ground floor of The Cornerstone consists of 23,000 square feet of mixed-use space that features flexible, technology-rich spaces for students and the community. The Cornerstone also boasts a gamers’ lounge with 50 PC gaming stations and 3 console gaming areas and a multi-use 100-seat theater. The Cornerstone Exchange food hall is home to several local favorites including a coffee shop, woodfired pizza and other favorite cuisines.

School of Art and Visual Studies (SABS) and Fine Arts

The UK School of Arts and Visual studies opened a state of the art building in 2015 housed in a historic tobacco processing plant. The SAVS building features not only traditional artist studios and instructional spaces, but several other amenities, including five digital media labs, a multipurpose 3D fabrication lab, photography suite, a ceramics facility, print media shop, a wood shop and drawing, painting and foundation design workshops.

Taylor Education

We round out our campus tour at the Taylor Education Building. The UK College of Education is home to 3,000 students in more than 70 undergraduate and graduate programs in a wide range of fields, from teaching to rehabilitation counseling, from exercise science to sports leadership.

"Nestled in the heart of the Bluegrass, Lexington is a bustling city with Midwestern sensibilities and Southern charm. At its heart is Rupp Arena at Central Bank Center, home to the greatest tradition in the history of college basketball. On game days, more than 20,000 fans pour into to Rupp Arena. Our student section called the ""eruption zone"" is known as the sixth man for the Wildcats. From Lexi, the massive video board, to indoor fireworks, this venue creates an atmosphere electric with energy. When the Wildcats aren't playing in Rupp Arena, it's the area's premier destination for major concerts and shows. "
